Showing up mid-day with a party of 11 can cause a bit of chaos but Joes took it in stride. This was our second attempt - be forewarned - while the restaurant is "open" until 8pm, the kitchen closes at 7:30pm so you will not actually be admitted or fed at 8pm. Was not a positive first impression but everyone we met raved so we tried again... WORTH IT! Food was outstanding. Group of 11 had range of food priorities so we tried the paninis, pinzas/pizza, bruschetta and salads. The pinza crust is unique and worth it - a pillowy, soft bite that holds up well to fresh pomodoro sauce and salty bacon (for example - ha!). Salad was appropriately dressed (rather than drowned) and beautifully presented. Our waiter was fabulous (Michael?) and managed the complexity, randomness and boisterousness of our group with charm. Oh yes - did I mention the setting is stunning? My only regret was not having room to order the burrata salad that went by en route to another table. A real gem.

This is a pizza specialised restaurant with a few additional dishes on the menu such as a pasta of the day. The atmosphere is excellent by the river as is the charming rustic inside and enjoyable summer or winter. The food is super family friendly so you wont have complaints from kids. There is a bar area as well at the end of the restaurant. Overall its going for a cheerful and friendly vibe, which it does achieve well. I can imagine this being popular with the Almonte locals especially during summer when the town really shines and is super busy. You should plan during busier times as I expect you may need to wait for a table. If I was out and about all day with the family and we wanted to sit down, eat and relax this would probably be the place to go to. I look forward to returning and enjoying a lazy pizza Sunday with friends. Goditi :)

Great pizza, their pinsa dough is so unique and very fluffy and tasty! Was so good in fact that we went back a second time that same weekend and Joe's has become one of our favourite pizza places in the city. Excellent friendly and quick service and definitely a must try! Their arancini ball starter and arugula and prosciutto pizza are delicious (pictured below!)

I'm unsure there is a better patio in the Ottawa area. The food and drinks were amazing.

The pinsa bread used for the panini is the best part of the entire meal. I could make a meal out of that bread.

Very rude hostess we went elsewhere. In a service business rudeness should never be tolerated by the business or by potential customers.

Attention to Covid19 guidelines were followed - as we waited for our table I watched how thoroughly the tables and furniture was sterilized/ tables were separated with acrylic panels.

OMFG! Indian food in the Valley! DELICIOUS food in the Valley!…read more Normally when you see a combo like pizza and Indian, you tend to assume that one or the other will not _quite_ be up to scratch. But, these dudes totally know their pizza *and* make luscious Indian, and beat out an enormous number of Ottawa restaurants in both categories. I am not much of a crust fan and tend to always ask for thin crust. I stopped doing that here because the crust is terrific. I don't know what the deal with the pizza sauce is, but it makes the whole thing totally crave-worthy. The toppings and cheese ratios are perfect. The paneer dish was in the smoothest and richest of sauces, and the rice and naan were just right. It's a pretty basic little spot, looks like any pizza takeaway joint and only has a few tables, but, when I received an offer to be taken out and spoiled in a restaurant for my birthday this year, I went here. The food is so good I couldn't think of anywhere else I would have preferred to go. And while it might seem like an odd mix, pizza and Indian are just about my two favourite restaurant types; it's actually kind of a genius combination. Everything is very fresh, and you never get an under- or over-cooked pizza. I asked for spinach as a topping recently and was told _very_ apologetically that it was probably about to disappear from the menu -- "nobody orders it; I end up just throwing it out, box after box," and I had to pause for a moment to realise he had been buying fresh spinach. So many other places would have tossed on frozen and not cared! (Pizzaria Unlimited: please consider replacing it with broccoli, and, frozen is just fine...) This review was written with considerable difficulty as I do not have their food in front of me, and thinking about it is making me drool all over the screen.

Great stuff! Convenient and good pricing compared to other Pizza-Rias! Would recommend!!read more

I've been meaning to try this place for soo long and I finally did! And I wish I had tried it…read moresooner. It might actually be one of my favourite pizzas in the city! The restaurant is cuter inside than I thought. There are some window seats for people-watching on bank st. There are also some hanging lights by the windows. The pizza crust has the perfect crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside texture. It's so good it doesn't even need any dip. I tried both the nerd pizza and the mushroom pizza. The nerd pizza had pickled onions, black pepper molasses bacon, cheese and chili Basil honey. I loved the tangy pickled onions, with the salty-sweet bacon, and the spicy honey. The combination was just perfection. I could use a little more chili though! The mushroom pizza was a white pizza with portobello mushrooms, parm, and truffle oil. The salty parm and the meaty portebello mushrooms were a good combo, but I didn't really taste any truffle oil. I felt like this pizza was good but missing a little something to take it to the next level. Overall, the food was delicious. The drinks are reasonably priced (beer, local kombucha). However, the service was mediocre. I think they only had one or two servers working the entire area on Friday night.

Ordered 2 of their rotating menu pizzas tonight and was not disappointed. I'm not the type to…read moredeviate from my usual order once I find something I like, but I'm glad I did. The pizzas were light, airy and packed a lot of flavour into each bite. Super full now and I regret nothing
