For starters the place smelled horrible, like sewer. Their water barely worked... but I went ahead cause it was a gift to me and I didn't wanna be rude so I sit down for my pedi he does his thing and clips my ingrown toe nails but didn't remove them which left me in pain and i had to remove them myself then I show him my design which he completely messes up and tried covering what he did by putting a small 2 caret stone on top of it. then proceeded to charge 50$.... look I'm usually not this person but if I can save anyone else from having this experience I will. 0/10 I will never go back. read more

I went in for a full set acrylic and he asked if I wanted a design for $5, I agreed. When I checked out I was shocked it was $55 but I paid. Within 7 days my nails were lifting and looked horrible. Aside from taking up two hours of my time- my pedicure was awful with one of my toenails broken on the front from only being partially trimmed... and was being ripped off. A week or so later I had an infected ingrown toenail with puss oozing out of it. I went to get it checked out and was scheduled to have a procedure a week after I had been on oral antibiotics. After the painful procedure, I went to request my money back. They made me take off my gauze and bandage to look at it, while they claimed it wasn't them. Then, they tried to use a tool to further dig in the area- which I quickly told them no because of my procedure & there was a big hole in my toe. They then used the tool to inspect my other toe and put it back with the clean supplies- very unsanitary. They then told me I needed to put ointment on it- which I already knew as I had doctor-prescribed ointment. After I said no multiple times, with their bare hand (which I hadn't seen washed) they slapped ointment on my toe and put on a bandaid that hurt really bad considering my entire toe was bruised from the numbing injections I had. They proceeded to say I could have a gift card at best- which I had no desire to return. Eventually we settled on $30 cash; however, the cost of my procedure severely outweighed the reimbursement. They are very nice people, just not too aware of conversational or sanitary concerns. read more

Worst experience. Used to be a good place to go. No wonder it was empty. Took the upgraded pedicure package. Said 50 min treatment. He rushed through. Barely scrubbed my heels. I still have rough callus like I didn't even go get a pedicure. Told me he was putting on gel to last longer. Was $10 extra but I wasn't asked if I wanted it, or spend $10 more. Checked my watch. Done in less than 30 min The entire time their kid was caged in a room in the back , screaming and throwing things I assume at the wall or door. In the short 30 min I got, he left several times to check on the kid. Not relaxing at all! I was unnerved by what was going on in the other room and why a toddler was left unattached. First off they seated me in a dirty massage chair. The tech took other customers and just left me sitting for 45 minutes soaking in cold water. Then didn't bother to cut my toenails or remove all of my old polish. I'm pretty sure the tech used a dirty towel to dry off my legs. There was a small child locked alone in a closet size room who kept trying to come out and crying. This kid was like 2 and barely clothed. I came to relax and this was the least relaxing place possible. I've been there in the past but it looks like new ownership and none of the same ladies were there. It was empty. I've tried many places trying to find the right one, and I think I found it! Kelly did my nails and was amazing and efficient. Tee did my toes and was very thorough. Nails came out great, they have awesome pedicure chairs, and I will definitely be back! I wasn't sure what I wanted and I decided to trust Kelly and am IN LOVE with this set. THE BEST pedicure I've ever had. Super friendly technicians! They took their time with the pedicure and the brand new pedi chairs were amazing. I got the $50 pedi and it was worth every penny. I had my nails filled on Wednesday and by Saturday one was coming off. I returned to the shop my issue. They fixed it. They didn't match the color correctly and they made me pay to fix their mistake. If you don't put acrylics on properly it's going to come off and it's not the customer's responsibility to pay for your employees mistakes. I will never go back ! read more

Had a pedi then a mani. Forgot how relaxing it was and maybe too relaxing. However after we left we went shopping and I noticed she cut my little finger cuticle to short one one place it to the point it bled a wee bit. When I got home that night I notice that I still had calluses and not one but two nicks on the same little finger. I've had better, in fact I do it better at home for free. read more

I've been to a lot of nail salons but this is the only one I've ever walked out of due to terrible customer service. When I went in I asked what the cost was and the guy, perhaps Joe?, immediately got an attitude with me treating me like I had some kind of nerve for asking. I was asking for shellac and a cuticle trim and he kept changing the price the more we talked. When I finally got to sit down with one of the girls, she asked what I had decided upon, probably so she could be sure. With that, Joe started yelling at her and banging on the table with his fingers telling her not to ask me again. He walked away a bit, turned around, pointed at her, and said it again. All yelling like it was really meant for me. I told him I get my nails done to relax and not to have to deal with chaos and stress and left. Maybe it was just a bad day. read more

I got my toes done yesterday at Joe's Nails and Spa, but forgot to bring flip-flops and put my shoes on too soon. I realized I'd damaged the pedicure before even getting a few blocks from the salon and circled back just as they were closing. Without a recriminating glance, they sweetly fixed it and sent me on my way. And then my dog jumped directly on my big, wet toe. I shamefacedly went in today and offered to pay for them to fix the damage. The staff member made tweaks to the entire pedicure and then refused to take my money. I went to Joe's with a friend this weekend. She called and made an appointment for both of us to get manicures - one dip and one shellac. We arrived to no welcome or hello, and they immediately pulled me over to a station that already had one customer receiving service. We were confused about why we weren't sat together when the appointment was made to be together, so we asked. We were given blank stares and just had to stand there awkwardly while 3 employees chatted back and forth. We had no idea what they were talking about or why it was so difficult to move us to be together. I was told to sit down where I was, so we asked again. I really don't understand why it was such an inconvenience, but after a few uncomfortable minutes trying to figure out what was going on we eventually got to sit next to each other. After that, my lady was flat out rude - I assume because she was mad we asked to be sat together. Didn't speak to me, rushed me to pick my color, and was harsh on my nails. I have glue (or whatever is used with dip) all the way to my cuticle and it is pretty uncomfortable until the nail grows out. My friend had a great experience with her tech, but I will not be back at the risk that I receive the same treatment. read more

I have known the owner and most employees for 10+ years. They are professional, kind and talented. It is always best to make an appointment since Norman is a college town and people tend to come in all at once on their free time to have their nails done. However, if you decide to walk in as I have most times I go. You may have to wait 5 to 10 minutes or they will ask you to come back at a later time. I appreciate this because they don't want you sitting there wasting your day like some salons have you do. I appreciate everyone that works there. If you are unhappy with something just speak up and ask politely for what you really want. I have noticed a few of the negative reviews and it doesn't sound to me that anyone spoke up during their service,they were just unhappy at the end. I promise the staff there at Joe's Nails cares about their quality of service and the happiness of all of their guests! I have went to many nail salons and this one is by far the very best! I have noticed if a nail tech does not have a client they will be watching a video and practicing on a nail tip, a new design or a new style.
