Here again at Joe's eating a late lunch. Staff very friendly and helpful here at Joe's. Great casual spot to have lunch, love the music selection. We are switching it up today no pizzas for lunch. We are doing spaghetti lunch specials and chicken parmigiana sub with fries and meatball sub with fries. We also did the mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce to start as an appetizer. Decent pizza... if you're in no rush. I wouldn't write this review, but this is FOUR separate instances. Came here last week for dine-in. Service was good, our waitress was very nice and very attentive. However, our food (just regular old pizzas) took forever. Most recent update: we place an order at 7pm on a Saturday evening, says it will be ready at 7:45. Then we get a notification it won't be ready until 8:45. This is ridiculous. If you can't figure out how to make a pizza in 30 mins, I suggest another business. Plus- they still charged us!! $75 for pizza that was gonna take nearly two hours and we never got it. Was not good, 6 of us ate there. Wife had a chicken parm sandwich that was mostly bread, I had a chicken parm dinner was too much pasta with a tiny chicken cutlet slobbered with a dabble of cheap cheese, pizza dough is weird (definitely not New York style). Dough is kind of a cross between toast and an overdone pan pizza.. It's all really a shame because I live in Patrick Square and walking distance from this place. I went once before, just for a pizza, and the dough was the same. The restaurant was clean, kind of loud, and there is a nice sports bar in the back with a friendly bartender and a lot of TVs. This place is really expensive for a pizza place/bar. Like... overtly expensive... especially for the quality of the pizza given to you, fresh or buffet. When warm I suppose it's good but the buffet almost never is, I've been here multiple times to try and give the place a chance. The service is kind of hit or miss and the servers always manage to be busy all of the time even when there's not many people in the restaurant so not really attentive or regular service. The atmosphere is a bit gaudy with the purple and orange everywhere but that's just a Clemson thing. read more

High price point, cold pizza on buffet with limited choices. Arrived at 1:44 and asked if buffet still open. Was told yes. Found a couple of trays of pizza slices that were cold. Finally at 2:30 after a couple of more customers came in they brought more pizza out. But we had been there 45 minutes by that point. Salad bar looked wilted and like it had been out awhile. Price of $15.99 per person for lunch buffet seemed a bit high. They also added an additional charge when paying with credit card. Experience would have been improved if there were more choices of fresh hot pizza and if there was spaghetti or other dish also offered on the buffet. Waitress very attentive and friendly. I'd just come in from out of town to visit my mother the day before Thanksgiving. We were originally going to go out to eat, but I was exhausted, so we decided to stay in. Being unfamiliar with the area and my mom being indecisive, I scanned Yelp for suggestions and landed on Joe's. Their menu had lots of choices and we finally narrowed it down to an antipasto salad, garlic knots, and the Hawaiian pizza. (Don't judge. My mom likes the tart and salt of a Hawaiian pizza.) Oh! And two drinks. I can't tell you how happy I was in regards to ease of ordering, service, and the quality of the food. Our order arrived faster than expected and was still scorching hot upon arrival! I mean, it couldn't have been served any hotter if we'd ordered in at the restaurant! I was ecstatic! The antipasto was delicious. They had nice quality and quantity of meat, cheese, olives, and two pepperoncini served atop a crispy, fresh bed of lettuce. It was absolutely delicious and the portion was incredibly generous. The garlic knots were crispy on the outside, steaming hot on the inside, with the perfect amount of chew to them and exactly the right amount of garlicky goodness. They came with a side of marina that was to die for. Soooo delicious! The medium sized pizza was absolutely perfect for the two of us! Enough to eat that night and sneak a cold piece in for breakfast the next morning! The pizza was flawless: perfect amount of sauce, perfect amount of cheese, and perfectly distributed toppings. Oh, and the drinks came with "the good ice!" It was a short trip to see my mom, but I'll be back and when I do, we're going to eat here. We can't wait to try the other offerings on the menu. If they're half as good as our delivery was, they'll still be out of this world! Soooo happy to have found this place! read more

Some of the best pizza and wings in the area. There are 3 locations in the Golden Corner of SC and all are good.

Long-time customer, but wow, $27 for a calzone with very little filling! I knew 4 toppings would add up, but also looked forward a calzone actually stuffed. Sigh. Will try once more and see if this was, Hopefully, a one-off. read more

We were met with a kind smile and no qualms when told hostess we would have 8 guests. It was the day after the Fiesta Bowl in AZ and rainy so not many patrons. I liked the orange and purple theme. My FIL is obsessed with their pasta sauce and gets it in jars to go- and for good reason. The food came out fairly fast. I wish the kids pizza had been prepared first as they have less patience than the adults and theirs came out about five minutes after we had ours and steaming (good because fresh yet we'd have to wait 5 more minutes for it to cool.). Our server was very patient and friendly. The hot subs were a bit smaller than I assumed and the calzones a bit larger. I thought flavor only everything very good. I'm giving it a four only for the pizza. It's a cute little place the design is nice. The pizza has great flavor sauce and dough. The area is nice because of the design and setup. It's very open but yet plenty of space to have many people. The area is sectioned off which is nice, it doesn't feel so crammed. My waitress was super sweet the service wasn't very attentive but it was busy. The 2 counter girls weren't very friendly. It was my first visit and when I went to the counter they didn't even ask if I needed anything they just stared at me. When I said do I pay here one said no not really but I guess I could do it. After I paid I wasn't even thanked. I wouldn't say it's a weekly pizza night place to go. But it is a good try and I would do take out next time. read more

The location and cleanliness of this restaurant coupled with the friendliness of our waitress, Audrey, and the rest of the staff leads me to want to give this more stars, but the food just wasn't very good. This was our first, and last, visit here. We ordered a large Greek salad to split and a medium "House Special" pizza. The salad was prepared by the wait staff. On the positive side, they used fresh gloves for each salad. The salad mix was iceberg & spinach with additional toppings of sliced black olives (not Kalamata), 2-3 pepperocini and at least twice as much feta cheese as should have been used. The salad was drowning in feta. Kalamata olives would have been much preferred. The "House Special" pizza was a thin crust as one would expect for a NY style, but it was not crisp at all. You could see the underside was browned and there was a wire screen pattern, but it was limp even though it was cooked and not raw. The pizza toppings were sauce, cheese, pepperoni, ham and diced tomato (which was supposed to be sliced tomato per the menu). It just wasn't very good. If you were hungry, it is edible, but the ham had an odd flavor (like an over-processed flavor) that was just off putting. My wife thought the crust was too garlicky, which to me is not a real thing. As she put it, "I'm not real picky, I eat mac-n-cheese out of a box, but this is just not good." You might think I'm being a little hard on the pizza, but as a reminder, this is billed as "NY Style" and this is the "House Special," which should be the best foot forward, right? On the positive side: There was a good beer selection. There were televisions and big screens throughout the restaurant for NFL or college games. The service was polite, efficient, and pleasant. read more

I have ate Joe's in Clemson and the new location in Central serval times. We have loved everything we have ordered there. You can't say that about a lot of restaurants. Everything thing has tasted delicious! But rarely give 5 because usually customer service is lacking. But not with this restaurant. Long story short, Joe the owner and his employees at Central location is amazing customer service. Going above an beyond with helping me. Definitely worth spending your money at great food amazing customer service. Support your local restaurants over big chains. read more

I almost NEVER review, but this requires one. First of all the food was VERY good. The service, however. We told our server at the very beginning we were on a lunch HOUR and ordered our drinks and food at the same time. We were told the little pizzas only take about 5 minutes. Evidently not. Food came out after about 35 minutes. We weren't told our salad had to come from the salad bar. . . . finally go those when we asked. Salad bar was sparse at best. Several items missing. Not a big fan of this "new" lunchtime menu, etc. We used to be able to get in and out and back to work in plenty of time. We were over 10 minutes late today. It also took FOREVER to get checked out. Server told us not good at math. No kidding! 5 tickets should not take 15 minutes to check out. Of course, there was a beer to come pour in the meantime. . . . . Oh, did I mention all the employees sitting in the back doing nothing? NOT good for lunchtime if you want to keep your job. But the food was excellent. This is for the SENECA store, not the Clemson store. read more

We came in about 30 minutes to close. We weren't sure if they were going to be seating that close to the end of the day, but when we asked the staff they were kind and helpful. The Taco Pizza was okay, I personally wasn't a fan of the nacho cheese sauce. However, the cheesy garlic knots were delicious! I would definitely recommend them. The restaurant was Clemson themed. Joe's is great! The food is always really good. I've tried a few different things - calzones, pizza, ravioli, spaghetti - and have never been disappointed! The service is sometimes quick, sometimes slow. I think it depends on how many people they have waiting tables on a given day/night. The service used to be terrible, but I went recently and it was fine. The inside of the restaurant is very Clemson-themed, with lots of purple and orange. There is a cute little patio for outdoor seating, and it's really nice in the evenings. Definitely would recommend trying Joe's! read more

First time eating food from Joe's. I ordered online and the experience was very good (simple, I think they use ChowNow). I was in the mood for a meatball sandwich but wasn't super hungry. Scanning the online menu I saw that they had a meatball and garlic knot combo. So, I asked them to add mozzarella and provolone cheese to the concoction. I split open the bread, added the meatballs (with the melted cheese they had added), and ate the meatball slider I had just created. It was amazing! I'll admit, I'm a little bit of a meatball sandwich snob, I have had many over the years and this was a great pairing. Kudos to Joe's for making solid meatballs and good garlic knots. I would like them to add this concoction to the menu and call it "The Milt!" :) I also ordered an Anitpasta salad as well as some wings. I was too full to eat the salad but the ingredients look great! My wife ate one of my wings and said it was very good. I will be saving the salad and wings for later and look forward to digging into it. My order was to-go but I looked around inside while waiting to get my food and I was really impressed by the cleanliness and how friendly the staff is! We will be dining in soon enough. read more
