I eat here for lunch about once a month because it is a convenient option and about $15 for the all you care to eat pizza, and full salad bar, including a drink and a chocolate brownie (a pizza brownie). The pizza is hot and crisp. The only downsides are limited choices and they may run out. But you have the choice of cheese, veggie, pepperoni pizza. Two to three slices are enough for me, depending on the day. The salad bar is kept fresh and cold and has a wide variety of vegetables, toppings and dressings, including those artificial bacon bits that are really, oddly, very tasty. The interior is still reminiscent of a college bar, darker, carved named in the tables, but not unpleasant. It's a quick lunch at a decent price. The pizza will scratch the pizza itch, but it is a notch below some nearby, more expensive options. All around, it's a good lunch and suitable for both individual diners or large groups. read more

Had the lunch buffet today at Frodo's and was u I pressed with the pizza. I am from Philly and consider myself a true pizza lover so it takes a lot to impress my regarding pizza. The pizza at Frodo's was not bad, it it wasn't particularly good either. I would say it's a step above the mass produced delivery pizza that you can get from the national pizza chains. For some people this will be fine, however I'm generally looking for a tastier level of pizza. Another gripe I have is that no one was collecting the used dishes from the buffet. Because of that, used plates just piled up on tables all around the restaurant. I noticed that even when patrons were through eating and had left the restaurant, their plates just sat piled high at empty tables. This gave the place a VERY messy look and feel. For me, this would be a place to take my teenagers and their friends when they are ready to chow down because the food is very reasonably priced and abundant. However, it's not a place that I would seek to try again because life is too short to eat mediocre pizza. read more

Pretty palatable pizza. All-you-can-eat pizza bar runs in the afternoon, and it costs about the same as a medium pizza. Again, the pizza is nothing special, but it's pretty good. As someone who truly loves pizza of all kinds, I was one of those who equated it to sex -- "even when it's bad, it's still pretty good"...and then I had Frodo's. If I ever remember who recommended Frodo's to me, I will hunt them down and punch them in the throat for speaking such misleading words to my ears. I would go to Pizza Hut ninety-nine times out of one hundred before going back to Frodo's. Pros: (1) I didn't get mugged while I was there; (2) Although I had to run to the restroom as soon as I finished eating, I didn't actually shit IN my pants; (3) The cute girl working the counter was...cute; (4) The name -- I love LOTR. It seems people have forgotten what good pizza is these days. This is another ma and pa pizza restaurant that has figured that slapping cheese and sauce on some cheap dough is pizza. Yeah, technically it is. But that's all it is. They should make their slogan, "Technically pizza." By the way, they claim to make their dough "fresh twice daily". That is NOT something to brag about. Good pizza dough is made the day before and allowed at least 24 hours to rise in a refrigerator. (36 hours is better!) When dough is made quickly it looses its taste and texture. I ordered pizza from here yesterday and it was absolutely terrible. The pacific rim pizza crust was burnt and had maybe 5 pieces of pineapple on it. The margarita pizza crust was chewy and just didn't have any taste. I don't know who made these pizzas but they clearly didn't care at all.
