So i pulled past the two stop signs just as she had directed, and lo and behold, there was no Bay City Market but instead a Center Market. yay! this place is like your typical convenience store with ice, water, beer, random knick knacks, a wine aisle, cigarettes, a bunch of snacks, and a few hot foods. i think that that old review that was written over two years ago was under completely different management because pizza doesn't appear to even be sold under the heat lamps. This seems to be the only market within a few miles and had a steady stream of quiet locals coming in and out. The two people that helped me out were very friendly and curious about the negative comment on Yelp and mentioned that the people working there at that time were long gone and they had been working hard to turn the market around and it shows. It's clean and well-stocked and has everything a little neighborhood market could have, and plus the employees are super nice and helpful. This place is A-Ok and definitely a great spot just to grab your Rainer beer and smart water and whatever little snack you need if you're driving through.

The walk-in beer cooler is accessible from both sides of the store and the selection of beer, cider, and wine was extraordinary! They had a variety of local and non-local, and all price points so you definitely have options depending on your mood. There were a ton of produce and fresh food options that I saw as well, even though we didn't purchase anything from those. I never caught the cashier's name, but she was a shorter, dark haired lady and was so so nice! She talked to me about my wine option and reassured my choice was a good one! I appreciate having an occasional glass of wine, and expect that it's difficult to find a quality wine selection in a small town that probably depends very heavily upon the tourist trade. Frankly, most towns known for heavy tourist traffic usually don't do well when it comes to what they stock in wines -- they usually aren't that impressive. I was truly shocked to see an excellent selection of highly-rated wines, especially for domestic Cabernet Sauvignon. If you enjoy having an excellent wine, this is the place to find it.
