But when my glands were so swollen that they impeded my bite and caused intense pain in my ears, I had no choice but to find another ENT. But I didn't see just any ENT. I saw Dr. Michael Mitchell at Vancouver ENT. He listened and examined and did something no other expert had tried: he put me on a 2-week round of antibiotics, hypothesizing that I had a low-grade infection that had persisted through the years. I returned to Dr. Mitchell's office a month after our visit, and for the first time in years, my glands were consistently soft, and the swelling had not returned. And 2 months after the first visit, I've been asymptomatic. Dr. Mitchell did what no other doctor--some being experts in the field--had done and had been able to accomplish. I highly recommend Dr. Mitchell for his medical skills, his ability to listen carefully without interruption and to think outside the box, and his sweet, kind, and caring nature.
