Ok, I was honestly nervous about my appointment after reading all of the sub par reviews but I needed to be seen sooner than later and they had openings only a week out. I'm pretty certain they must have fired several employees because I had a wonderful experience from start to end. Scheduling was a breeze, after I got off the phone I went onto their website and was able to print the new patient forms so I could have them ready ahead of time as I was going on my lunch break. When I arrived the intake gal was very friendly but not overly and in a freakish way like some can be lol I had to wait maybe 6-8 minutes for the doctor to come in. She was kind and didn't rush which I appreciate it. She was happy to answer my questions and I felt happy with the end result and her diagnosis. I will absolutely continue to use them as my ENT. Showed up for a 1 o'clock appointment. At 1:10 while in the lobby they stated the doctor was unavailable and offered me another appointment. I live 45 minutes away and was traveling alone with my toddler. They are clearly too busy or not well organized. Either way, unacceptable! read more

I scheduled an appointment with them three months ahead of time and they canceled on me two weeks out with no notice. The receptionist said it was because I'm out of network. I specifically asked her multiple times if my insurance was excepted... "Call someone else." Take their advice. read more

Sounding like a broken record, but I requested an appointment through their online portal. Took 4 days to get a text saying they were looking into it, with no further communication. Called 6 days from initial request and no one answers the phone. Was call waiting for 15 minutes. 6+ business days to schedule an appointment is absurd. If they are this disorganized with something as simple as scheduling an appointment, than i can't trust their professionalism as practitioners. read more

I would have filled out the survey that was emailed to me, but it had my name on it. What a horrible experience. I have been going to ENT:s all of my life. And it's always been a pleasant experience This place is horrible along with the staff!!!!!!!!!! I said I had a plugged ear and needed my ears cleaned. Instead I rushed into the audiology room to get my hearing checked. When the audiologist proceeded to pull on my right ear, trying to shove something into it so much it hurt for days afterwards. This went on for a while. She seemed quite exasperated...then she said, well I cannot do anything, your ears need cleaning....she was a horrible woman, that is what I was there for . So I was rushed to the other side of the room. Did Danielle Brown introduce herself? No....just like the audiologist. Then she said, well I am not sure you can get your hearing checked since the ear cleaning took so long. Making me feel terrible. As if "I" did something wrong! Then I was told I needed hearing aids. And I could not buy them there because my insurance did not cover them. Was anyone helpful in referring me somewhere else? NO You audiologist needs a client relations seminar....lots of them. read more

This place sucks. They had a last minute cancellation that they asked me to fill. I said I could but would be a few minutes late. I pulled my son out of school arrived 12 mins past the appointment time. They wouldn't see him because they said the late policy was only 10 mins. I wish they would have told me that when they asked me to fill in a last minute cancellation. So they wasted my time, my son's time from school, and their reputation is down the drain in my books. I found Lake Grove ENT on my own when searching for a referral to have my doctor send. I wasn't too concerned with reviews because I needed an ENT and I wasn't picky. To be clear on my 3-stars review, it's for the front desk folks rather than the doctor, who was wonderful. When my doctor first sent my referral over, I waited 3 weeks before calling myself and asking if I could simply schedule an appointment. The woman I spoke to just said "Our referral specialist will call you - do you need anything else?" and wouldn't help me beyond that. I've never had to do that before, but alright. Another two weeks passed with nothing so I called them back. The other woman I spoke to said for some reason, somebody in the office had marked me as "Do not schedule" therefore they never called me. They didn't know why or how, but at any rate I got my appointment squared away finally. I arrived 15 minutes early with the paperwork they told me to fill out ahead of time and was promptly checked in. I can fully appreciate that doctors run behind schedule, especially for mid-day appointments. In fact, I don't even mind waiting. However I think communication is key - letting your patients know how far the doctor is running behind is important. My appointment was at 12, and I ended up being seen by the MA/Nurse at 12:55. In between that time at around 12:45, I politely asked if they were running behind and they said they were. I wish I had known that beforehand as it was a busy day at work. Despite the front desk service, the MA and Dr. Erica were great. She answered questions I didn't even know I needed the answer to and suggested both major and alternative options for some of my issues. If I decide that I need to get surgery done, I think I'd be in good hands with her. Otherwise I'll keep coming here because I think the doctors are worth it, but I'd schedule early morning appointments or just determine ahead of time how far behind they are that day. read more

I was taking my son as a referral from his pediatrician. Appointments are months out. We had an appointment and it was canceled two weeks prior because the doctor had changed his schedule and wouldn't be there. We took the next available with a different doctor (two weeks out) and the day of they called to let us know the doctor called in sick. They offered to reschedule us. The next available was a month away. We said no thank you and booked with Northwest ENT. The staff is helpful and the doctors take their time to address the issue you came in for. read more

They advertised tinnitus care, but were not up to date on research. They were dismissive and lacked curiosity. Surgeons shouldn't proclaim they can care about tinnitus when they are merely fishing to cut something. Their clicker in the audio testing booth was sticky. That could impact the test. When someone comes in because they are suffering from tinnitus, it should be standard to ASK during the exam, when there is ringing - to corroborate if it is concurrent with hearing loss, and they should have questionnaires to determine impact. read more

This is difficult. I understand that "specialty offices" have challenges. Perhaps, the functionality of the business office could be more important? Perhaps, the front end person could act like they want to help? Perhaps, the person I'm supposed to pay could know what I'm paying for? But they told me and I quote, "most people take care of that before they come." I love being shamed by an office manager in the lobby in front of 7 people. Fun. The doctor is nice and prompt and knowledgeable so that is the most important thing. read more

The two times I made appointments with Dr. Vessley I had to wait an excessive amount of time after my appointment time to be seen. The first time I was sick enough to wait it out. The second time I was there an hour and it was a follow up, but still never saw the doctor. I walked to the front desk and asked for my copay back. They voided the original charge but not once did I get an apology. Dr. Vessley called me today to try to get me back in but after two times of her not respecting my time and since I'm feeling much better, I declined. She still never apologized for wasting my time. I saw someone else in her absence and was treated well and in a timely manner. I wouldn't recommend Dr. Vessley but someone else may respect your time better. read more

Took two months to get seen, which was not a big deal, and was happy with my visit, but I was told I would need a CT scan and it's been over two weeks and they haven't even made an appointment for me to have one. I called my primary care myself and they said all they had to do was call them for an authorization referral over the phone. I'm not waiting more months just to get an appointment for tests, then more months to be seen again. They need to hire competent office staff and pay more than minimum wage. I think the medical assistants and Dr. Desai we're fantastic. There's an Audiologist named Kim? that I also feel shows great patient care. I came in on an urgent referral a couple months ago and Kim, the MA and Dr. Desai were prompt in getting my issues figured out. The one thing I would suggest that needs improvement is that front desk. I work for a healthcare company and I started at the front desk so I understand how demanding it is and how busy it is, but when I sit on hold for over 30 minutes that is definitely not acceptable. I dont think the clinic should lose a rating because I got stuck on hold. While being on hold, the call drops, and I have to start again. Someone usually picks up and says "Lake Grove ENT can I put you on hold?" and I get that over and over again. At some point I'm going to stop calling and just wait for someone to call me. But other than the phone issue, all of the staff are super nice and the doctor is very knowledgable. She actually cares about my problem and shows kindness and empathy when I was devastated to hear the care plan. She responds to my mychart messages and gives me clear instructions about what to do. I look forward to finishing my care with this clinic (even if I get hung up on! ) read more

Dr. Schettler is the nicest doctor I've met...but my lord, talk about a waste of time and gas. Don't ever count on your appointment to start on time. You will have the option to reschedule it for the next day. For two post of appointments, this is ridiculous. Who on earth would drive all the way home and then all the way back? Very unprofessional. Got a stat referral from urgent care for my daughters nose that is fractured. The doctor wanted it to be x rayed to make sure it isn't actually broken or any other issues. KATHY THE SCHEDULER took it upon herself to tell me they are booked 3 weeks out and i should just go back through my primary care doctor. For what ? So she can wait even longer ? She was very rude. Even told me she needed to contact the urgent care and see what's going on then she would give me a call back. Thing is, why ? Why did she feel the need to call and ask about anything if WE HAVE A REFERRAL AND HER JOB IS TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. I felt very disrespected the way she spoke to me. She called me back and told me she had talked to urgent care staff and told me the soonest date i could make the appointment. She obviously realized she was wrong and did way too much. I did call and talk wjth the supervisor (i believe she said her name is Amanda) she didn't seem to concerned with Kathy's behavior. (By the way even the urgent care lady i spoke with told me Kathy was also short and rude to her as well.) supervisor told me that she would ask Kathy why she treated me that way lol. So now we are here because Kathy needs some continued education for her job and how to speak to people and her boss obviously doesn't care. The wait for the appointment was never an issue, i never complained about the 3 week wait i just wanted the appointment i was referred to have. Kathy needs to realize her job is to SCHEDULE people not ask dumb questions and call around and make things more difficult wasting peoples time. Kathy needs a new job. After reading other reviews as well as my personal experience and i haven't even stepped a foot in the building, i would avoid this place. read more

I've been coming here for years. The customer service has definitely improved here. The receptionist (Suzanne) is extremely nice , and always willing to help when she can. I see Kim at this location when ever my aides need servicing , or I need answers to question. She is great at her job , and makes the whole process easier. read more

We found Lake Grove ENT because I have ongoing issues with my ears including minor hearing loss, tinnitus, positional vertigo and plugged ears. The entire office staff was wonderful and although some waiting was required, I was never kept waiting more than a few minutes at any point during my visit. Everyone was professional and nice. Dr. Yang is competent, knowledgeable and direct. The audiologist was also great. They were very helpful to me and I highly recommend Lake Grove ENT. I will not hesitate to call their office if I need help in the future. read more

I have struggled for over 10 years to obtain a diagnosis. I received a referral to see Dr. Schettler Huberty and was immediately comforted with her confidence, knowledge, and compassion. She listened very carefully to all I complained about, and offered a surgical solution. This was scheduled right when COVID19 started. So we had to reschedule. Her team was amazing at communication, completing my FMLA for work and scheduling my operation as soon as possible. I am currently 5 days post operation for a tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, Septoplasty and minimizing turbinates and I am 100% happy I found this Doctor. I highly recommend her. Long story short, they were VERY UNPROFFESIONAL, they had me waiting in the lobby for an hour and if they had a surgery or something going on that was taking them longer then they should of talked to me. The doctors were just flirting and laughing with their receptionist and it was very offending that they don't have a consideration for my time. I don't know if it was a payback for cancelling my last appt with them but it was very unproffesional of them. They are a waste of my time. I was nervous after reading so many negative reviews but our experience with Dr. Mulcahey was good. She was really nice and so were all of the employees we talked with. I appreciated her giving us samples of some medication before we went and bought it. I only have two complaints, one being we had to wait a month before we could get in to see any of the doctors, and then at our appointment we had to wait an hour before we saw the doctor. Other than that, it was a good experience. read more

Dr Yang is a poor excuse for a doctor. This place is a joke. Lost my voice for over a month and she said she had to look down my throat with a scope to see what was wrong and wasn't covered by insurance. Whatever, I understand, just fix it. She said my vocal cords were inflammed and mostly cause by allergies or my acid reflux. (which I already told her that) She quickly prescribe me steriods and tried to send me on my way. I asked her before I left, "if this doesn't make it better, then what next?!" She replied "oh it will be get better".."okay, but if it doesn't what else can I do." "call me back and we will figure it out, but I recommend seeing a speech therapist to prevent it in the future." After 2 weeks of Steroids, my voice got better. Not 100% but better. After a week, back to the way it was before. Called Dr Yang, and her answer was to see a Speech Therapist. That won't fix the inflammation. Okay well then I can prescribe you another round of steroids or a steroid injection...or you can see a speech therapist. The steroid was only a temporary fix! It didn't even fix the problem. Why would you think that is a solution?! Or the Speech Therapist? They are both temporary fixes. WORST DOCTOR EXPERIENCE EVER!!! read more

They have accommodated me 3 times now (2 for me and 1 for my daughter), at the last minute for emergencies. I have been going there for over 6 years and I have always had a wonderful experience. I would recommend Dr Yang or Dr Shettler to anyone with unfortunate ear situations. The audiologist (I can't remember her name,) was great with my 3 year old daughter as well. I saw Dr Furman as a result of a middle ear infection that Legacy Urgent Care misdiagnosed as a common cold. The front desk staff was prompt and professional and Dr Furman didn't keep me waiting as many specialist do. He was attentive to my concerns and listened to everything I had to say. Dr. Mulcahey is one of the best surgeons I've had the pleasure to experience. The outcome of my surgeries has been very positive. However, the office staff, especially her medical assistant, seems to have forgotten who she is serving--the patient and the customer. A change of career may be in order. If you are able to put up with the politics and sometimes unprofessional and, unfortunately, too often, a lack of compassion from the office staff, you won't regret receiving care from Dr. Mulcahey. I wonder if Dr. Mulcahey is aware of the quality of service provided by some of her staff, which is in stark contrast with my great interactions with the doctor. read more

I don't normally do reviews but after my visit with this office, I felt I needed to warn other people. I have read other people's reviews and agree with them. This office is very unprofessional. They made me wait for over 25 minutes for my appt which was the first one after lunch. I also heard a lot of laughing and goofing around. I felt the front desk people, especially the girl with the blond, curly hair to be very disrespectful and unprofessional. The doctor, Dr. Muchahy was not a wealth of information. What a waste of my time, my money, my insurance company's money. I would definitely not recommend this office. I hope that someone from that office reads these reviews and can make some improvements but I have a feeling based on my experience, that they just don't care. read more
