Had been going to these guys for service for many years. Got friendly with them. They took good care of my family cars, gave good service, good pricing, payment plan and service was pretty good. I even wrote a previous post and gave 4 star. Yeah there was the little things like they forgot their tools in my cars forgetting to take them out. I'd gone out of my way to return the tools. But not this time! This time they forgot to use the tools and the poor service they did on my car almost killed me and others on the road. John's Brothers has gotten complacent with their service! Has there been any recent posts with good reviews? They forgot to put the nuts back on the rear wheel. Drove off got to Ridge Pike after paying for the service got about 3 miles down the road and the rear wheel went flying off the car, the car slammed down to the street, damaged the rotor, brakes, wheel and tire and scared the living shit out of me. The wheel flew down the road about 100 ft and just missed oncoming car and the tire tracked up onto the curb and sidewalk in front of a parking lot. Close call. Ask about this next time you use these guys. Ask them if they remembered if they tightened the nuts in the wheels! read more

I've recently been introduced to the frustration of owning a Mini, which generally means either paying outrageous dealer prices, having to go to a BMW specialty shop, or being told "no we don't work on those" by various independent and chain shops, even for routine maintenance like brake pads. Not only did John Brothers happily work on my car, but they got me in within a week of when I called AND they did the job for literally one third of what the dealership quoted me ($300 as opposed to $900). I bought a car online from John Brothers Automotive and couldn't be happier with the customer service from Steve John and ultimately the car when it was delivered to me. I've been looking for/dreaming about a Porsche 911 for years. I did nationwide searches, interacted with dozens of dealerships, and developed relationships within PCA and with other Porsche experts to make sure I got the right car when I found it. I'm not wealthy- this was a significant outlay financially. I found a car on Autotrader advertised by John Brothers. I live in CA and under normal circumstances would have flown out to look at it in person. Since I couldn't, I accepted some risk and bought the car without ever having seen/driven it in person. John Brothers was exceptionally honest and upfront about the car I wanted and it's condition, agreed to and facilitated a thorough pre-purchase inspection from a mechanic of my choosing (as well as providing multiple pictures and documentation to my mechanic where I live), repaired observed issues, sold me the car at an extremely competitive price, and facilitated shipment to CA. The car arrived in better-than-expected condition and 3 months into ownership continues to perform well, no issues. It's a beauty! BUY YOUR CORVETTE HERE!!! I bought a 2000 Corvette from them about 6 months ago. There car was very thoroughly detailed inside and out. I asked for pictures of the bottom of the car to ensure it was rust free. They sent me multiple pictures of the underside of the car on a lift! The visors were slightly damaged and he had new ones mailed to my house and offered to install for free. I had a few questions about the usual GM electrical issues, they answered my call immediately, gave me some insight, and offered to take a look at it free of charge. When I left with the car it was fully detailed, fresh Mobil 1 full synthetic oil change, and had PA inspection done that day! They worked with me on the price even though the asking price was very reasonable. There were no rediculous documentation fees, and no pushy salesman like I've delt with in the past. If you want an HONEST salesman that deals specifically with sports cars This is the place to go. I am a mechanic and I can tell they take pride in their work and do everything to ensure the car leaves the shop right! I plan to bring my C5 Corvette back to them for inspection when it comes due, even though it is a 45 min drive for me. Price of inspection and full synthetic oil change is $300 or more for a Corvette. Do the math, you'll leave with a car that will not need any maintenance for a year or more. Worth every penny and you won't deal with dishonest mechanics that will find $1500 in work you don't need. I plan on trading up to a C7 eventually and I will not deal with anyone else, even if I have to wait 6 months for the right car. BUY YOUR SPORTS CAR HERE!!! read more

Refused a family in emergency situation, during business hours. At 5:40pm on 2/1, I called because I was on the side of the road with a completely flat tire, a few blocks from your location. It is 16 degrees out and in the car are a 6 yr old, a 3 yr old and an 11 month old infant. I called asking for help, making sure if i drive the few blocks that there was a mechanic onsite to help patch my tire so i could make it the rest of the way home, which is out of state. Without any sympathy for a mom in the car with 3 young and scared kids, I was told "we close in 20 minutes why don't you try someone else on Fayette". This company's lack of empathy in this situation was quite surprising, especially given that you were still open. What if i couldnt get ahold of anyone? You were ok with a family including 3 young kids stuck on the side of the road in freezing temperatures, in rush hour, in the dark, from another state? Being still open, we would have been there and out before your 6pm close time. After my 5th call I was able to reach another mechanic, which also closes at 6pm and I had to drive further away on my flat tire, and they waited for this mom to get there. They were delayed from closing by 15 minutes, i got there closer to their closing because they were not where i had gotten the flat. I was a few blocks away from you and would have gotten to your location before you closed, and without dangerously driving on a flat tire. We got to the other mechanic, further away, at 5:58, tire patched, paid and were out by 6:15. Forever greatful to those other guys. In an emergency do not rely on this mechanic! Update: was contacted by the person that refused us service and they doubled down on the 'we were closing' response, though did offer a half-hearted apology. Certainly a business can refuse service to a family and children in an emergency, but is this the type of business YOU want to be dealing with? read more

This is a great independent auto shop--I have been going here about 4 years. They service all types of cars, and are very honest and knowledgeable. I had an issue with a warrantied battery replacement, and it turned out that I owed a portion of the battery costs after they submitted the claim. They didn't call me and tell me that I owed them the money. They just noted it on my file until the next time I came in for service, which wasn't until months later--they didn't have to wait like that, but they did without me even asking. The shop is super clean, the owners are super nice, and they always have Corvettes, Vipers, Lotus, Jaguars, classic cars, or some other expensive car that they are working on or selling. read more
