If she does start to accept new patients, don't bother see her and she will cancel your appointment without a second thought.

My mother has been going to Dr. Luke for years. I went to him for birth control about a year ago…read more(when I was 19). I wanted an IUD and was given a brochure, we had a conversation and Dr. Luke said it was ordered and should arrive in about a month and they will call me when it comes in. Over a month later, no phone call and I called the office to find out that no order had been placed for the IUD. My mother brings this up in her next visit with Dr. Luke and he says he would never recommend an IUD to a 19 year old and doesn't remember my visit. This is not the first time I had a bad experience trying to get birth control from this office. I went once when I was 18 to get an IUD, and instead they prescribed me birth control pills which I had to stop taking because of the side effects. I never wanted to take the pill but felt pressured and talked into it by the nurse who consulted me, and didn't know at the time how to say no to it. Not sure what's up with this place. Overall a very strange and frustrating experience, especially as a young woman trying to take care of herself. I didn't feel like a valued patient at this practice, in fact I essentially didn't exist. Still confused about all of this.

Absolutely horrendous and borderline malpractice. My partner has been going here for years and has…read moreeven referred patients. We became pregnant and it made sense for him to be our OB. We were with him for 1st and 2nd trimester. In that time, the level of care would've been laughable if it so wasn't traumatic. We would wait in the waiting room for, at minimum, 1 hour after our scheduled appointment. We learned to call an hour ahead. We called and they said everything's on time. Got there - waited an hour - and then was told they didn't have bloodwork from the 1st trimester. WE DID THEM THERE IN THE OFFICE. They lost our blood work and then tried to blame her. Dr Mac then came out and said we've been a bad patient - she was crying and he and his staff were teaming up on her berating her and saying she was wrong. Office manager was screaming at her over Dr Mac. We did everything to a T correctly as it's our first pregnancy. (Also worth noting - my partner drove an hour both ways for this and was hit by a truck in her car on her way home) Now some words for you Mac. Listen here pal... every time we've seen you, we've had to remind you of what we have next and why tests haven't been ordered. You come in for 1 minute, fly through an exam, and ask if we need anything - which is when WE had to tell YOU what needs to be done. Typical response was "oh we haven't done that yet?" This was our level of care. You didn't tell her she had a negative blood type which required a Rogam shot every 4 weeks. We missed the first 2 doses because you didn't even know what her blood type was well into the 2nd trimester. You tested her blood sugar and called her A MONTH LATER to tell her she has gestational diabetes and we should go see a dietician. Which, by the way, if ANYTHING is wrong with our baby when it's delivered, you've opened yourself up to litigation. You brought my partner to tears telling her she's a bad patient and we didn't get blood work done. If we hadn't advocated for ourselves and joined groups and forums... we wouldn't have known ANYTHING that needed to be done. We found a new OB at Northwestern they LAUGHED at the paperwork Mac sent over. They literally said "he's seriously still practicing?" Absolutely no organization and they lost all of her blood work that, again, was done IN OFFICE!!! Yet berated a first time pregnant mother into tears for being a "bad patient". You are just a number here. A box to be checked. Get e'm in and get e'm out. Absolutely no accountability or advocation for their patients. I'd recommend a clinic before I'd ever recommend this toxic office.

I have never been so uncomfortable in a physicians office-from (some not all) of the front desk staff to the actual doctor. The "office manager" not only was providing test results over the phone (HIPAA) to then discussing politics. The office manager once gave me medical guidance over the phone, only to find out what she relayed to me was the exact opposite of what Dr. McInerney stated during an OB visit Its apparent after listening to this "office manager" (his wife) how much they love trump, hate Illinois and that covid isn't real. I was too far along into my pregnancy to switch providers so figured I would stick it out. The kicker was being ridiculed by the physician, someone you would think would be an advocate for his patients, particularly women given he is an OB/GYN and women are the reason he is still in practice. I had discussed a particular birthing approach with him, along with various options that might be explored in the event I may need or to prevent a C-Section. Being pregnant you get to talking with other patients, usually also pregnant, and I found out that he has a high (in my opinion) C-Section rate. Upon, getting closer to my due date I would be in the office weekly, and at any given appointment, at least 5-6 pregnant or recently pregnant/delivered patients had "required" C-Sections. I don't think there is enough money for me to ever return to this office. The lack of professionalism was astounding. Side note: Prior to trump I was a Republican so this has nothing to do with politics.

I wish this person hadn't made me so aware at the lack of concern some doctors have for patients they deem ignorant and of poor backgrounds. From day ONE this OBGYN made sure to make this experience a stressful one. From day ONE she was already writing me down for a c-section. I kept attending every appointment and making sure I did as I was told so that my child was healthy and to avoid a c-section she seemed bent on making me feel that I'd needed. I kept every appointment until the last month, when her staff made appointments FOR ME that I couldn't make because they were MADE FOR ME on times and days I had NO ONE to take me. I was rudely told that I had to accommodate the doctor's availability, as if my time meant nothing. On the last month, the staff and doctor HOUNDED me to attend an appointment I never made. They kept saying that I was missing appointments and that it was imperative that I make it. I only rescheduled that last appointment I NEVER MADE, and it was only because the doctor told me flat out, that if I didn't make it, I'd have a stillborn. That cut deep, especially since this doctor was aware that, when I was 17, I did have a stillborn son. There was absolutely NO REASON to use this scare tactic on me! All throughout my pregnancy my child and I were completely healthy. All tests and ultrasounds pointed out at health and everything going according to plan. There was absolutely NO REASON to tell me anything of the sort. I ended up getting so stressed out from this harassment that day, that my fiance and daughter ended up calling paramedics because I couldn't eat and my sugar dropped, making me feel ill. I became so stressed out thinking the worst, that I ended up going to the E.R. on New Year's Eve because her nasty words echoed in my head. I began fearing that this child would die. I went to the E.R. and was given a clean bill of health that day. My child and I were great, and I would be able to give birth vaginally. I felt better after that, and I decided not to go back, but the harassment persisted. I later found out that the reason she found it IMPERATIVE for me to attend the date THEY WANTED, was because the good doctor had vacation days on the week after it was imperative I go. I'd like to know why it was never imperative for this doctor to take my calls of questions and concerns, instead of ALWAYS telling me to go to the E.R if Iwas so worried? I'd love to know why I had to go without real care for the two months she was dealing with her own personal problems? I know that everyone has life events which can hinder their ability to give their work 100%, but I was never given options to see a colleague or a standby when she was unavailable at her office. I had a life growing inside of me, and I was responsible for that life. If anyone reading this is wondering why I didn't switch doctors, I'd like to add that I TRIED. I asked for my medical records but was told that they could ONLY be released to the next doctor I decided to see. I was told that my records couldn't be released to me, and because I wasn't aware of the law, I believed it! I stuck to this awful person out of ignorance, and she and her staff took advantage of that ignorance. It wasn't until AFTER I was made aware of the law preventing my medical records from being held hostage by manipulative doctors and staff that the persistent calls and feigned concern began. I told them that it was illegal for them to have denied me my records, and they claimed they were just "following protocol". I was never made aware of any protocol, only TOLD that I couldn't have them. During this call, the person in the office got so irritated that she began screaming at me, telling me I was getting defensive, when clearly it was her having the issues. I had multiple people witness this call, and even recorded part of it. Needless to say, I refused any further contact with any of these people. I knew that in order to be given okay care, I had to become my own health advocate, so I decided to give birth somewhere I thought might have a better outcome than the one I thought I'd have under that type of "care". I was wrong, but one can't always have it their way. This year, the medical community did it's job on opening my eyes to just how shady medical care can be if you're not paying close attention and informing yourself. Through their lack of concern and misuse of degrees and titles, they pushed me onto my possible career path. Thank you! I was never offered a replacement Dr. When time came to refill my maintenance meds, the office ignored the pharmacy's requests and only after I called them, did they tell me I need to come in (after just seeing my dr in August) for an appointment with another dr as a new patient! I've been with Palos Med for nearly 10 yrs. The staff is incompetent to say the least. I should have been notified before my scripts ran out to sign up with one of their other drs, if that's their policy or find a new one elsewhere. I'm sure the remaining drs are fine but whoever runs this office isn't. I wouldn't recommend this group unless you're prepared to deal with a revolving door of Drs and staff.

I ended up with Dr Torres being my primary OB, but only because her schedule worked better with mine. Both these doctors were amazing! They made me feel so comfortable and were very knowledgeable. I feel that Dr Torres was the reason my delivery went so smoothly and stress free. I also noticed that the wait time was sooo short compared to the doctors office I was first at. They usually take me back a couple minutes after I checked in. My appointments would only take about 15 minutes from the time I got there. The staff there are all very friendly and nice also. I loved the nurses (I think their names were Kristin and Erica?) I refer people all the time to Dejong and Torres and I will definitely be using Dr Torres to deliver all my babies.

My mom, who has worked in the medical field for 35 years, and fiancé were witness to her "bedside manners" & were left speechless. She attempted to have me discharged without ever physically seeing me & luckily my nurse disagreed with her "assessment". I've never known a doctor to comfortably discharge a patient they've never physically talked to or assessed themselves. After being admitted, she came into my room a day later with an awful attitude and cut me off at every opportunity to say "so you're fine?" and eventually she sarcastically said, verbatim, "I guess I'll just order a million dollars worth of tests then". When I told her I was worried about being sent home without medication and that my blood pressure may continue to rise she again said, verbatim, "well I can't guarantee that won't happen".... Then what's your job? Ultimately, she did order those "million dollars worth" of tests (confused why she cares considering I have insurance) & I was sent home with two medications recommended from a MFM doctor. Thank god. Would never recommend her, hoping to file formal complaint with hospital.
