I have been to many dental hygienists when I lived in other cities, and I have never found one as gentle, thorough, and excellent as Candice. I simply won't go to anyone else for teeth cleaning. I did a teeth whitening procedure with Dr. Christensen this past spring, and my teeth were noticeably whiter and brighter by at least two shades, which was amazing! They also sent me home with a take-home whitening kit that allows me to keep my teeth in good shape on my own. Their front desk staff is professional and friendly, and even sends out birthday cards! It is so nice to feel taken care of by the whole staff at Dr. Christensen's office.

A few years ago, I was seen here by Dr. Bowen while experiencing severe flu-like symptoms. I also had a bite on my arm that appeared a few days before I became very sick. I specifically showed him the bite and asked whether it could be related to my symptoms. His response was "No, I think you just have COVID. Go to City Market and get a test." I was then sent out the back door. Why he couldn't test me there I have no idea.... I followed his instructions, got tested elsewhere, and the result was negative. Dr. Bowen was rude, dismissive, and made me feel uncomfortable, as if my symptoms weren't valid or worth taking seriously. Over the years that followed, my health continued to decline. I became progressively sicker. It has since been confirmed that I have chronic Lyme disease. Luckily I had taken a photo of the bite and when I showed the physician who diagnosed me with Lyme the same bite I had shown Dr. Bowen that day, they confirmed it was consistent with a Lyme tick bite along with proper testing. Had this been properly evaluated at the time, my illness may have been caught early and treated before progressing into a chronic, life-altering condition. Instead, I am now living with a lifelong disease that could potentially have been prevented with appropriate medical attention. The dismissal of my symptoms and the failure to investigate a possible tick-borne illness had serious and lasting consequences for my health. I cannot believe this is my reality now. I hope this review encourages more thorough evaluations and genuinely patient-centered care in the future, because what I experienced here was dismissive, incompetent, and a complete failure of medical care.

However, he recommended I replace a gold inlay I've had most of my life when he noticed tiny adjacent cracks, and noted that there could be asymptomatic leaks after so many years. It turns out he was correct, because when he popped off the inlay there were spots of micro-decay (fortunately superficial) and debris underneath. Luckily I didn't wait until I'd have symptoms and possibly need a root canal instead of a crown. He is the most meticulous and high tech dentist I've encountered: eg., ultrasonic cleaning (which he does himself), and top of the line technology for the crown with which he's replacing the gold inlay. He's also a friendly guy who explains in great detail every single thing he does.

I called his office and made an appointment with him. When I arrived, I was seen by someone else. I was seen by many people actually. I met Dr. Pevny on my way out of the business. The physicians assistant who saw me is not an in-network provider. I am now expected to pay the entire bill because it is out of network. I have tried since January to resolve this problem with the doctors office and they refuse to call me back. A patient should not be expected to walk around a doctors office and ask everyone who sees them whether or not they are in-network, when the patient made an appointment with the doctor himself and he is listed as in-network on the insurance company website. I have tried for five months to resolve this problem with Dr. Pevny's office. No one has bothered to call me back. On top of this, right after I was seen, I called to request a copy of my x-rays. No one called me back for that either. I do not live in Aspen and I cannot go to this business and resolve this problem in person. For this reason they get two stars. I cannot imagine what would've happened had I needed help from them immediately after visiting the office. I'd still be waiting. How the doctors office treats you is part of the care that you get. If they are not interested in helping their patients you should not do business with them.
