The best dental experience I have had. I have had a lot of treatments done to me by many dentists. Some of these treatments include, root canal, wisdom tooth extraction, fillings, receding gum treatment, cleaning and the list goes on. I have some good experiences and some bad experiences at dental offices. Here are a couple of things that stood out the most at Dr. Cho's office: Honesty, Diligence, Follow up, and the best part: no pain. I ended up at Dr. Cho's office because I didn't trust my previous dentist's assessment on my teeth. According to her, I needed 1500 dollars of work done on my teeth. Dr. Cho went through my x-rays and gave me a game plan on how to tackle the problems I have been having with my grills. Instead of performing procedures, he recommended I follow a certain routine and come back for a follow up within the year. If my teeth didn't improve, he said he would procedure with procedures.I saved $ here. When I had my wisdom teeth extracted (3 of them), I was told I only had 3 and I wouldn't need to worry about the 4th one. My mom and my sister were told the same story from our respective dentists. Well, at Dr. Cho's office, we found my 4th wisdom tooth was impacted and I would need oral surgery. After my finding, I had my mom and sister have their teeth checked, and voila! their 4th wisdom were also impacted. Once I had all the procedure performed on my teeth, Dr. Cho followed up with me periodically. My wisdom was taken out by a specialist, and Dr. Cho even followed up with that procedure! Dr. Cho's techniques during his procedures are amazing. I dreaded going to the dentist because I feared the sensitivity and pain I would feel from the procedures, but Dr. Cho took away this fear with his awesome techniques. I have extreme fear of dentists. Its due to the many traumatizing dental visits from my previous dentist 10 years ago. Yes its been 10 years since I last seen a dentist. Well finally avoiding the dentist caught up to me and I started having a severe toothache. I had received a mailer from Dr. Cho's office. So I gave it a shot and went there. When I got there the staff made me feel very welcome. I was seated in a timely manner and the dental assistant (I forget her name) was very attentive. After the assistant took some digital xrays and intraoral picture of the bad tooth, Dr. Cho came in. He carefully listened to what I was concerned about and did not try to rush me. Then after thoroughly examining the tooth, he diagnosed that it needed a root canal because the cavity had infected the nerve :( He asked me if I would like to start treatment today and I emphatically said yes because I was in so much pain. He numbed me up and after working on me for about an hour, I was done. I couldn't believe that I didn't feel anything during the procedure and he even thanked me for being a good trooper. Dr. Cho had great bed side manner and I appreciated his thoughtfulness and thoroughness. He even called me later that night to see if I was doing ok. I thought that was very nice of him. So back in december/january i needed my wisdom teeth extracted ASAP. Although i did not end up going to dr cho for my extractions (the only reason was because he was completely booked), i appreciated how nice and caring he was. I messaged him on yelp addressing my concerns and he asked me to leave my phone number so he can contact me. He reached out to me personally on his free time and after my conversation with him, i 100% wanted to book my appointment with him. So the next day i ended up calling his office to make an appointment but he was booked so i ended up having to go to an emergency dentist. If it wasnt for my extreme pain, i would have gone to him without a doubt. That one phone call i had with dr cho really showed his concerns for his patients/future patients and how nice and comfortable he makes you feel. I felt the need to write this review even though i didnt go to him because i have never had a dentist personally reach out to me and call me and talk to me the way dr cho did. read more

The second star is only because dr. Cho is a good dentist . I was relatively happy and he did a lot of work in my mouth. The office staff on the other hand are incompetent, rude and generally clueless... specifically the billing and front desk staff. We had a payment plan in place and then I moved out of state. We left three or four messages on the voicemail trying To get the amount due etc.so we could pay it off... no reply. For months...granted I wasn't calling everyday .... Fast forward to 3 months later... It's as if Rosé the billing woman woke up from a deep sleep and suddenly realized payment was needed.... Suddenly we are delinquent Then came the "strong arm tactics" followed by simply charging the full balance due without consent on a credit card they were supposed to shred. best experience ever. doc cho's dentist office is amazing!!! by far the best I've ever been, no lie. my wife and I had visited other dentist offices and they would just use scare tactics to pitch a sale would obviously is an ineffective way to sale to a customer. when we came in, the assistant Jesse was amicable, knowledgable, and went above and beyond to make us feel not only welcomed, but as a valued customer as well. he explained everything with great detail and made us feel at home. we loved it so much we immediate scheduled an appointment to have all the procedures done ASAP. when we came back, miss Michelle treated us with all the patience and love on the world. we truly found the ideal dentist office. after all the procedures, my wife nor I felt any pain, discomfort, or any negative experiences. they really made our dentist phobia disappear by how professional they all were. I've been Dr. Cho's patient for well over a year now. I am in the process of 3 implants. The easy-going and friendly but always professional and knowledgeable Dr. Cho Never hurts me. He has a tricky way of numbing your mouth so that you get plenty of topical numbing agent and his special delivery injection of lidocaine is practically a light pinch if anything at all. And he has always sent me home with adequate pain control and antibiotics when necessary. I still have work to be done and I'm glad I'm having it done at Dr. Cho's office. The staff is terrific. I usually see Jessie, the dental assistant and Linda cleans my teeth. Rose and Lauren run the office so they keep my appointments on track and squeeze out as much as possible from the insurance. It's hard to find a dds you can trust but you can definitely get top quality care and relax in Dr. Cho's office and the fees are very competitive. read more

About six months ago I had to have all four of my wisdom teeth taken out, one of which was deeply impacted into the bone. Dr. John Cho and his staff were more than courteous and made sure that I was comfortable throughout the entire procedure, which went very smoothly. He personally followed up with me every couple of days to see how I was progressing and scheduled several check-ups to ensure that my wounds were healing properly. Six months later, the holes where my wisdom teeth used to be have completely closed up and I had not experienced any problems post-surgery. I would definitely recommend Dr. Cho to anyone who is terrified of going to the dentist (like myself) as he performs amazing work and truly cares about the well-being of his patients. Really cool dentist. I had a emergency toothache and called the emergency line for Dr. Cho's office. He called me right back and told me he can meet me in a couple hours. Very nice! especially since it was Saturday night and I don't think I could've waited until Monday. When I got in he took an xray and showed me on his flat screen that I had a tooth infection. An endodontic abscess to be more technical. He said that the tooth needs to be drained and root canal started right away. After he numbed me up, he started the procedure. Everything took about an hour and he wrote my a prescription for some pain meds and antibiotics. I couldn't thank Dr. Cho enough. Review is long overdue. When I saw Dr Cho a year ago, I was visiting from Canada and broke my front tooth. He was nice enough to squeeze me into his busy schedule. He told me I need a crown to fix the problem, which I already knew since I'm familiar with dental work. This was a Friday afternoon when I saw him. He was able to fix my tooth and rush a final crown by that following Monday. Now that I'm moved back to Long Beach area I recently just saw him for a checkup. I've been going to this office for about 2 years now and been very happy with everyone from Dr Cho to the people in the front office. I was surprised to see a negative review over the staff being not trustworthy as I they always been upfront and honest with me on what they can do and cannot do. They worked with me when I have my insurance and even now with the finances after I dropped my PPO insurance cuz it sucked so much. The Dr and staff at this office are just wonderful. I was having a lot of trouble with my ppo insurance company in covering for some treatments I received. Rose, in the front office, went above and beyond in dealing with my insurance to get things covered, I appreciated that a lot.
