This iconic building serves as a familiar and imposing landmark from most any direction in Chicago.

Hancock center is definitely worth visiting in Chicago. They have the 360, cloud bar and Tilt. 360 is definitely worth it and the views are fantastic and must visit. Looking at the water view along with the tall buildings is a thing of beauty. Navy pier view was fantastic. Dont miss out on this one !!

Chicago has lots of tall buildings. It seems the one formerly known as the Sears Tower is the one everyone knows. The building formerly known as the John Hancock Center is the other important one. Most famous for the antennas. You can also go to the observation deck and see literally for miles. A long interesting history about this building. It's 100 stories and is the second tallest building in the city. This is located at 875 North Michigan Avenue, which is now this building's name. But why was the name changed. The building used to be the headquarters of the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company, which moved out and years later in 2018 asked for its name to stop being used, so that's why. Like Chicagoans do with the Sears Tower, they don't give a fuck and call it by the old name. This building also like that one has an observation deck at the top. Stores in here include a location of The North Face. There's also a market on the 44th floor that separates the office and residential tenants. It has good views if you can get to it. On this floor is also the highest indoor swimming pool in the United States. At the top on the 95th floor used to be a restaurant, The Signature Room. This closed and it's just an empty space. Best thing is the observation deck and the lounge. Its worst thing is paying to get there. This building certainly has great views.

Really gorgeous views. An iconic spot. Went here on my last day in Chicago. You can see everything. The mixed bag came with the staff, very hit or miss, on what should be a fun life experience. Luxurious CloudBar lives up to its reputation. Some staff go out of their way to be welcoming. Others straight up yell at you, pressing for quick volume an otherwise relaxing bar. Not worth the high price point for a drink with that uncertain style of service. It takes away from it. Otherwise wonderful, and many staff were so kind to even the casual tourist.

This is about the Signature LOUNGE. (Not the room.) Cocktails with a view. You can even pee with a view if you use the ladies' room. The staff at the Signature Lounge are so nice. No reservations needed. No fancy clothes needed. Just vibe. The nachos are delicious. The drinks are well made. Overall 10/10. Love it.

One of the tallest buildings in the world, topping out at 100 floors, now formally named 875 North Michigan Avenue, since 2018. JHC is a mixed use property that includes shops (plaza), grocery store, swimming pool (44th Fl), commercial offices, residential units, restaurants (Cheesecake Factory) and attractions (SkyDeck). I have been here several times. If this is on your list for things to do, make sure to stop on the 94th floor for the 360 Chicago Observation Deck. Check out the beautiful views, if you're brave enough, get a tight grip on TILT, an attraction that has windows that tilt outside the building with a downward facing view. The Sky Deck is the largest open air observation walk way in the city. Enjoy

The John Hancock was once the tallest building in the world and then Chicago kinda lost it to Malaysia and Dubai and other cities. Nonetheless, we're still known for having many skyscrapers. And still, it's a great building. I've heard that this building sways and creaks when it's windy. Kinda like the Sears tower. I've never worked here (I worked a year at Sears tower) and I've only been to Cheesecake Factory (below ground level) and the 95th and observation floor. This building is Chicago Iconic and is right up there with the Bean, Bears, Cubs, deep dish, etc. Skidmore, Owings and Merrill designed it. FYI - they also designed Terminal 3 Ninoy Aquino airport by the way. We tried the tilt and I got a bit scared, I don't know why, but I did. It was fun and brief and no pics were allowed in the tilt room, what the heck. Looking down 95 stories, I guess I'm not as macho as I thought. My office view is very similar but if you take out of town family members, they'll be in awe.

Went to experience the tilt which was nice, not as dramatic as I would have liked. The drinks were good at cloud bar.

The one time I went up to the John Hancock center was to have a drink at the upstairs bar (95th floor restaurant) with my husband. The view at night was beautiful as you can see all the city lights, the lake and far away....the drinks were not cheap, but we enjoyed the experience, the view and the once in a lifetime chance to be up there... The John Hancock Center is a 100-story, 1,128-foot supertall skyscraper located in the Magnificent Mile district, the building was officially renamed 875 North Michigan Avenue in 2018. When the building topped out on May 6, 1968, it was the second-tallest building in the world after the Empire State Building, and the tallest in Chicago. It is currently the fifth-tallest building in Chicago and the thirteenth-tallest in the United States. The building is home to several offices and restaurants, as well as about 700 condominiums, and at the time of its completion contained the highest residence in the world. The building was named for John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company, a developer and original tenant of the building, which itself was named for the U.S. Founding Father John Hancock. In 2018, John Hancock Insurance, years after leaving the building requested that its name be removed and the owner is seeking another naming rights deal. From the 95th floor restaurant, diners can look out at Chicago and Lake Michigan. The 44th-floor sky lobby features America's highest indoor swimming pool.

Great building! Phenomenal views and Potash is available for residents to shop. Located on the Mag mile, it's convenient via public transportation, street parking and garage parking are available. You can shop, dine and sightsee!

    Just beautiful.

The John Hancock Center is a 100-story skyscraper that has a lot to offer for people to enjoy and experience. One thing of note is it's beautiful light installation in the lobby. I am not sure what else to call it really but it is enormous in size and breathtaking to see light up at night. If nothing else than a quick pop in to check out, this free display of artwork is probably missed by most.

I think this is a must do when visiting Chicago. The views at the top are some of the most incredible of a city that I have seen. I was fortunate to be able to visit both during the night and also at sunset. I believe that this is a must

The John Hancock Center came as a traveler's pro tip from a colleague who had moved from Chicago to Seattle. After checking in to the hotel, did a power walk in brrrr Windy City fashion to check this out. Note it is free to ride the escorted elevator to the 95th floor to the Signature Room to have cocktails. The view is spectacular. The wait staff pleasant but harried. Nice strong pre-dinner cocktail, but was overcharged. Tipped them well, nevertheless. Wish could have lingered longer.

Once you're ready to go into the glass floor, staff take two groups at a time for efficiency for each window. They will take photos for you with the company camera, and then will allow you 90 seconds for your own pictures and photos. That's how the line keeps moving without anyone taking too long. After you're finished you can hop back into line for the elevator down. I thought this was well worth it. The photos and the views and efficiency was well executed. Definitely recommend!

It replaced Arclight which was in a decline. The cinema had been renovated 2 years ago. It was a Thursday afternoon, and the cinema was pretty quiet. There were big kiosks for ticket purchases, and the process was quick and easy. We got a small bag (which was not too small) for $10 plus tax, a little pricy for popcorn, but it was good. The popcorn guy was friendly, and he also doubled as the guy to collect our ticket stubs, and informed us which cinema room to go to. We were there for the preview of the movie, and we got the entire cinema #5 to the 3 of us! While the lobby and hallways of the cinema was nice and cool, this room was a little too warm. We totally understood that they would not cool down an entire room when there was no audience inside. I went to talk to the popcorn guy about the air temperature issue, and he promised to have it adjusted. As I went back to the cinema room. We could feel that cool air started to come out, and it was comfortable for the rest of the showing. The chairs were big, clean, and comfortable. Sound and picture were great. The movie itself was enjoyable just like the first time, and the English dubbing was perfect. The entire cinema was very clean. I was especially pleased with their restrooms being spotless clean. There is a bar in the lobby, and across from it was the biggest poster I've ever seen in a cinema lobby, it was a colorful digital poster of Ne Zha 2, very appropriate for such a spectacular movie. When we left the cinema after seeing the movie, there was another guy at the hallway collecting ticket stubs, and there was obviously more audience coming in. We enjoyed this cinema experience very much, and would definitely return to see other movies in the future.

I walked up to a seamless polished stainless steel form that reflects everything around it without a single visible seam or joint across its entire surface. That engineering achievement alone is worth appreciating before I even started engaging with what the reflections actually do. The reflections are the experience. I watched the Chicago skyline curve and distort across the surface in a way that shifted constantly depending on where I was standing, and walking slowly around the perimeter gave me a different composition every few steps. Walking underneath the concave arch in the center, which locals call the omphalos, produced a funhouse mirror effect that reflected me and everyone else from overhead in a way that was consistently disorienting and engaging regardless of how many times I have seen it. On a clear day with blue sky the effect was particularly strong, with the skyline wrapping around the sculpture against a bright background. On overcast days the palette shifts toward silver and grey and produces its own version of the thing. Admission is free and the park is open and accessible, which made Cloud Gate an easy addition to my Chicago itinerary without any planning required. It gets crowded, particularly on weekends and during summer, and the area immediately around the sculpture fills with people taking photos throughout the day. Early morning visits before the crowds build give you a more relaxed experience and better light for photography. It is one of the few landmarks in any city that genuinely lives up to what people say about it.
