I would probably let my kids go here if they got accepted. It was a slow weekend and not much was going on in campus but found plenty of free parking around for the kids' school event. Not too many places that I found for eating but there were some nice doughnut shops for a quick breakfast or late afternoon sugar boost.

I spend a fair amount of time at the Clay Williams Building last weekend as part of the Class of…read more1980 45th Reunion. It's an impressive facility, including the Ring Sculpture in Back, easy transition into the new Aggie Park, and a nice view of Kyle Field. The TAMU in house caterer did an excellent job keeping a large number of hungry Aggies well fed and watered. And on the big screen we enjoyed the Aggies pulling out an exciting 41-40 win over Notre Dame at South Bend. In between were class meetings, tours, yell practice, and lots of good bull. The Aggie Class Ring is a huge deal here, and if I'm travelling I can easily spot one across the room. Hence, a lot of administrative work around the Ring program starts and ends here. Texas A&M also runs a separate Foundation across the street that manages larger donations beyond Association of Former Students Century Club memberships.

It's the Association of Former Students! What more can you say? Yeah, it's a little disappointing…read morethat it's the Clayton Williams building. But "as long as it's inevitable, you might as well lie back and enjoy it." If your seven year old Former Student sticker is looking more lavender and white, you can swagger to the front desk and flash your ring, Houston Astros cap, and Aggie Soccer shirt and get a new one. A "Howdy" and a smile will also come free. Makes those payments on your student loans a little easier to swallow.

This is one of those places on campus that IS Aggieland. It's very central, very open, full of…read morelarge mature live oaks, and the Academic Building itself is a beautiful landmark. There are often students sitting in the grassy areas, studying or hanging out. During the week and especially between classes, there are masses of students heading in all directions. It's close to Northgate and Northside, the MSC, Kyle Field, and many education buildings. The Century Tree, another beautiful and historic Aggieland landmark, is located IN the plaza. There are a few bronze statues and smaller monuments throughout the plaza, including the famous Sul Ross statue. I always have to walk through Academic Plaza whenever we go back to visit ol Aggieland, and it's always a highlight.

I thought the place was huge then, until I walked through "New Zachry" last week. Holy Mother of G-D, this place is humongous, with huge funds poured in building and maintain this premier learning environment for Engineers at Texas A&M. I especially enjoyed the learning stairs, the various available study spaces, and being able to look straight into many classrooms and watching lectures and lab work directly. However, I did find that getting into the building and out to be confusing. There are also other related buildings in the area, which makes Zachry the center of a very unique and energetic engineering campus. A little more green space within this very world-class urban learning center would also be nice. As a Chemical Engineering grad (and Advisory Board Member) at a much smaller department at the University of Iowa, I do wonder whether something can be too big in terms of promoting individual attention and teamwork. I similarly suspect that this place weeds people out, more than providing an investment for every student to succeed. But having worked with a number of Aggie engineers within my own career, this place is definitely doing a lot of things right.

A beautiful experience, that truly captures a learning environment for engineers. Lots of study…read morespace, and open areas for conversation and collaboration. The design is eloquently brought together with the learning stairs, which allow access to all levels of the building, and extra places to sit and study. While pretty, the layout can be at times confusing. Adjacent doors leading to the same stairwell, and elevators not moving between all the floors are some of the few confusing additions.

What an AMAZING school!…read more This was my first visit and we didn't even go to a football game! Our son is playing a golf tournament on the A&M course and we wanted to check out the campus. Our kids want to go to college here. Couldn't believe how HUGE this campus is! We saw many so bikes and scooters out and about. The campus was BEAUTIFUL and SO CLEAN. Excited to (eventually) go to a football game in one of the largest stadiums in N. America. My husband and I have been talking about how we love the values this school has. We would be proud to have our kiddos go here.

At the time it was the least expensive state university in Texas. I really had no idea how prestigious it was when I applied. I just knew I wanted to be involved with the ocean and study Marine Biology. As time went by, I discovered I'd jumped into the deep end. For example,I took both semesters of organic chemistry during the summer and had never been that challenged. Later to find out that's considered to be the most rigorous Organic Chemistry course in the United States. By the way, I just found out ,that professor recently retired after teaching there 47 years! Sometimes life hands you an opportunity that later proves us humans can stumble into situations good for us. As a young man having no idea what I was getting into,in the final analysis, this school had a tremendous influence on the way I learned, challenged myself, grew and prospered in life. The reason for this review today is,I just read where Texas A&M campus police are discontinuing, arrest on campus, of students possessing less than two ounces of marijuana. Fantastic...time marches on and...it's about time!!!!

I started off the year not being able to do much but then after i joined the emerald dance team I…read moream now able to do things that i never thought i could get like my splits my double and a lot more emeralds is high school drill prep and if i did not take emeralds i don't know how far i would be but not as far as know and the coaches are so kind they sit down with you one on one and talk about what we can do to turn this from good to perfect we take ballet to get stronger with some more things and we go to a competition every year at least once and every one is so nice and there is trouble at the studio because the studio cares about your child and they give out emails and reminders so you don't have to keep track of everything I would not want to be anywhere else

This studio is better than some other kids' dance studios in town, but the manager doesn't care…read moreabout kid's feelings. She excluded our kid from the group photograph, because our kid didn't have the rehearsal dress. The manager had not told us about that (and we were sitting in the foyer). We learned it only when we've got the group photo that we ordered and saw that it was missing our child. No apologies or regrets from the manager who made this decision. Our child was very disappointed. During the photo session class, they only did 5 minutes of dancing. For 25 minutes they just waited doing nothing. And after the photo session they let kids go 15 minutes earlier. And the attitude is that it's OK. And this photo session class was paid for as if it was a dance class, not just baby-sitting... In May, there was only one class, but full monthly fee. Very expensive! (The review was written in May of 2015, but from what I've heard later, it's still the same.)
