I was searching around for landscaping companies around the 209 area, and stumbled upon John Le Landscaping. I called and was able to set an appointment the next day. After taking preliminary measures around the yard, John Le provided a great quote and in 2.5 weeks was able to transform my yard into a beautiful space for my wife and 2 boys. John and team had removed the pre-existing lawn/grass, leveled the soil and ground, put in a 12x15 artificial turf rectangle area, had his team pour in concrete (in the early morning) for majority of the backyard space, created a new soil area for planting, helped moved our lemon tree into this new soil space, and finally installed a new irrigation system that included individual drip spots towards the back wall for other in-ground plants. So I don't know if this person is having a bad week or what... I read plenty of reviews about John and the work he does so I decided to call him to get an estimate for a yard "make over". Need the entire property redone. When I called him to set it up (on Monday) he told me Tuesday night at 6pm. That was perfect. He said to text him my address(I did as soon as we got off the phone on Monday). It was delivered and read by him. Tuesday evening 6:10pm still has not shown up and no call. I text him about 6:20, still no phone call or text back from him. At about 6:35 I called him and he said he forgot and then tried to tell me that someone else had a 6pm? He said he would be there between 7-7:30 (showed up about 7:15). We tell him what our vision is (we wanted to talk about pavers) he immediately without hesitation told us that was too expensive, we then tell him we wanted to do rock instead of grass and he told us that it was a bad idea because then people could come and throw the rocks at our window (been here 10 years and I've NEVER had a problem). He proceeded to measure the entire yard and then says that we definitely do not want the pavers or the rock, he spoke pretty quickly and stated that he would send an estimate the next day (Wednesday). First off, he never asked what our budget was and I've never had someone flat out say "oh you don't want to do that it's way to expensive". He seemed rush and quite frankly didn't seem like he cared to really find out what it was we were really thinking of doing, and didn't seem like he wanted to take the job. AND! It's now Friday and I have not received the estimate. **UPDATE** After this review John sent an email that stated he apologized and had a family emergency and asked me to give him a day. Then, not 20 minutes later he showed up at my door and asked to re measure cause he missed one spot. He was there for a half an hour. He came back up to my door and told me to tell my husband to call him and he would go over it with him. I asked him what was going on with it and he just repeated it and said to have my husband call him. I felt like he didn't want to discuss it with a woman...for this and the fact that he didn't seem interested to do the job, we won't be using his services. read more

Posted pictures of my before and after picture. I forgot to take pictures of the cement after it was completed. Pictures are from a couple days after. Nonetheless, John and his crew did a phenomenal job on my yard. He did this in less than two days and surprise how fast they work! I have a duplex and now the neighbor has a way to enter through their backyard and have access to the back. No cracks in the cement. Nice and smooth. Nice pave to the cement. He also extended stair steps to the back which give access to the back door. I love it! I gave an idea to John of what I wanted and he drew it out for me and we finalize. I inquired via Yelp to hire a contractor to do some work in my backyard. John responded and exchanged some messages via Yelp. Provided him with my contact info as he asked to set up a time and date for him to contact me to discuss the project in more depth. Well, I never received any call at all. Waited a week just to see if he may have just forgotten since he is busy with other job projects but nope, nothing. He leveled the yards, poured concrete where I wanted it, built a beautiful wall with LED lights and other LED lights to highlight the plants. All this through upper 90 degree heat. John & his crew were awesome, professional & kept to the deadline. We had interviewed a couple of people & had them come out to do estimates. Others came late or didn't have the tools to give a good estimate. It was a sure sign of things to come. But John was the only one that came prepared, planned & professional. We purchased the house knowing that we would someday have to tackle the jungle, which was the backyard. The entire area was uneven dirt (no pavement) & overgrown with weed & foxtail. There was a lot of debris including bricks, large chunks of rocks & just trash. There was also an eyesore of a rickety pergola/hut that we wanted removed. We wanted a paved walkway around both sides of the house, a grass area for the kids & a pergola right in front of the backyard entrance. John presented us with a lot of options for style & material & gave great input when we needed his advice. He was great at explaining why certain material worked better than others & where we could save money without losing any aesthetic appeal. He even suggested to make the pavement wider so the kids could ride their bikes around the perimeter of the house = awesome idea. I was sold... so we asked him for a timeline & he said he could start the next day & be done within 2 weeks. The next morning, he & his crew were out there cleaning & clearing- basically "demo'ed" the backyard in a few hours & got it ready for cement & grass-work over the next few days. And even though it rained a couple of days, he was still able to finish right on schedule. During the process, he communicated a lot of times where we could stop & make any changes we deemed necessary. I thought that was great because it gave us time to take it all in & see if we were really happy with the cement & grass outline, measurements, etc.. He also straightened the fence to make the entire job look very clean in the end. In the end, we had great grass & a perfectly cemented backyard, which drained runoff properly. Then there was the life-changing pergola. It easily cools the backyard & part of the kitchen area by 10+ degrees on a daily basis. It's truly an extension of the house that we can now comfortably hang out in. We've happily lived with the backyard renovation for about 3-mos now & have hosted numerous parties & even some lazy Sundays out there. All things we couldn't have done without John's & his crew's help & expertise. We purchased this house because we liked what we saw inside. In fact, the backyard was in the "cons" section because it wasn't usable & looked like it needed a lot of work that we weren't ready for. Now it's such a great feature of the house, some people come in & go straight back there to hang out. I think that's a great testament to John Le Landscaping.
