She seemed very knowledgeable and was extremely pleasant. She made my first session a positive one as I was able to relax and indulge in the moment, although in pain. As one session will not heal you or anyone, who has an injury as I did. But I was looking for relaxation upon my first session and she exceeded that goal. Needless to say I will never fear massage therapy again. As treatments continued I became more relaxed and comfortable with each session. The treatments have been an extremely positive outcome for my healing process. She has giving me many useful suggestions on ways to relieve pain and discomfort on my injured areas. With each session, it seems like the first (except I am not nervous anymore). She assesses how I am feeling physically and what her plan of treatment should be for that session. As I suffer from depression, she previously posted an article on her Facebook page regarding how massage therapy helps with depression. That article is so on point, the therapy that I have received not only has/is helping me physically but also emotionally/mentally. As a person who has…read moresuffered chronic back pain the past 15 years I spent 10 of those going from Chiropractor to Ortho to another Chiropractor....countless visits until I finally got a recommendation to see Dr. Van Der Veer. All other Chiropractors would work on you for 10 minutes tops...adjust nothing and recommend you come back in 3 days when the pain would just return...many times even worse. In one visit to Dr. Van Der Veer this guy did more for me in one visit than all the other Chiropractors & Orthopedics combined. He took one look at me walking in and said your cr00ked. I said something's not right. He worked on me for over 45 minutes this was after being on a TENS unit for 20-30 minutes to help reduce the swelling in my back so his adjustments would stay in place. When I got up off his table after almost an hour I felt like I was standing upright for the first time in a long, long time. I work on my feet constantly 10-12 hours 5 days a week so it's important to make sure my spine and body is aligned properly and now I typically visit him just for routine maintenence. TRUST ME when I say there is no one better! The guy is everything you ever want when it comes to a Chiropractor. He listens and explains what he's doing as he's doing it. They did and had an opening so I canceled a previous appointment and drove 40 miles to their office. Once there I find out that my medicare insurance won't pay for anything but the actual adjustment. So without prior notice, I was expected to pay at least $60.00 and whatever 'extras' the doctor decided I needed on the spot. While this can happen, it should NOT happen when the staff member asked if I had a Medicare plan and I said yes. She knew I would have to pay out of pocket when I got there and deliberately kept that nugget to herself. This was made all the more annoying since the intake forms she sent me to fill out were 14 pages long. When I challenged her about withholding this information after I specifically called for the coverage information she simply said they don't normally discuss it on the phone. Right. I guess that's because after most people drive there and wade through the ridiculously long intake forms they acquiesce to pay rather than start over with another doctor. This was deliberate on their part and I suspect a little too opportunistic. Never again will I trust this doctor's office for any reason. Treatment is always excellent and comprehensive, without any of the questionable practices I've encountered at some chiropractors in the past. My body is in better shape than it has been in YEARS, with increased mobility and a lot less pain. I currently see Dr. Miles, who is fantastic - very knowledgeable and helpful any time I have pain or discomfort. The staff are great - very friendly and helpful, and helped me keep track of my insurance info when navigating my car accident. Since the pandemic, they've kept the waiting room clear, and I can almost always get an appointment within a day or two, and usually the same day when needed. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for relief!
