My fiance and I hired John to be the photographer for our wedding and I can only say great things about him. Is it possible to miss your wedding photographer? Yes, yes it is. We absolutely loved John Munno as both a wonderful human being, and as a top notch wedding photographer! Would give more stars if I could because John Munno killed it. We had to postpone our wedding from April to September of this year and John made the transition seamless. We kind of viewed him like our wedding planner because he was able to give us great recommendations for DJs and Videographers that we ended up using with great satisfaction. I cannot say enough wonderful things about John Munno and the time he took to ensure the love, joy, and quirkiness of our special day was truly captured. We met John at a Bridal Show and, after meeting with a few other photographers that we didn't want to hire, scheduled a meeting with him. He welcomed us to his studio, shared his expertise, showed us the beautiful pictures he had taken of other weddings, and the packages he offers. He was comfortable to be around with his great energy and sense of humor. He asked us questions we never would have thought of and helped us finalize the pieces of our special day. We schedule our outdoor engagement shoot and looked forward to spending time with him one afternoon in June to really get a feel for him and his work. He was extremely detailed-oriented and went out of his way to make sure we had everything that we wanted for that afternoon. When it was downpouring, he took the time to reschedule (in the midst of his busy wedding season) our shoot for a later date. He did research beforehand, met us at a local coffee shop to start our shoot and took us through the day with such ease. We walked away with 250+ beautiful pictures! I had high hopes for John. I had looked through John's photo gallery on his website and saw some good shots, but when it came to my cousins wedding day it was not even close to what we had all expected. John was unorganized, spent far too much time with the groomsmen despite the groom and best man telling him to go take photos of the bridal party resulting in not having as many bridal party shots as we all had hoped. There were little to no detailed photos (ie. the rings, shoes, flowers/floral arrangements, table settings, jewelry, up close detailed pictures of the wedding dress, etc) and those are arguably some of the most important photos other than family photos and bride/groom portraits. John was dismissive to the bride/bridal party ideas for photos, therefore missing many beautiful photo opportunities. I went to fix the bride's dress and lay out the train and John told me to stop and that it was not important...The bride wanted a photo showcasing the dress she had chosen for her big day and he dismissed that idea and took the train and ruffled it so it did not look nice anymore. I think the major takeaway from the day is that John did not provide the flexibility that was expected. I thin that in the future, he should consider a second shooter and setting aside some time to get those cherished detail shots instead of spending so much time with the groom and groomsmen. I also think that he might want to consider editing his photos. I am not sure if he edits them at all, as they look unedited, but sometimes a good edit can make all the difference. I hope that all couples/families take this review into serious consideration before booking. read more

John was in regular contact the minute I had initially called and decided to book him. I had a short time frame to plan my wedding and John was wonderful with helping me find any vendors I may have needed. He set up meetings with me and my (now) husband to make sure he was prioritizing the photos we knew we wanted. John Munno has my sincerest and highest recommendation! Yes, John is worth every dollar of his very reasonable rates. Yes, John's expertise will have him providing you with answers to questions you didn't even know you had (before, during, and after the wedding.) Yes, John is a dynamo getting those pictures back to you edited and exceptionally quick. Ours came back in less than two weeks, and it's prime wedding season! Yes, the photos were beyond our expectations. Everything from timing, to lighting, to composition, to originality, to the expressiveness of the moment was met with perfection of detail. For those reasons alone, John would be the only photographer I would recommend, but John was exceptional in so many more ways. John is an amazing artist with an uncanny ability to perpetuate an air of calmness and serenity in what could potentially be a frantic day. I didn't know how to finish lacing up the back of my daughter's wedding gown. John did! He jumped right in a knew exactly how to tie off and hide the sashes. I had no plan B for a picture taking location in the event of rain or soggy fields. John did! Knowing that the weather was predicted to be poor, John scouted out the neighborhood days before the wedding and found a perfect alternative. Not only did he find the best setting for the photos, but he asked for permission to use the property in advance so that it was all carefree the day of. I was worried that not having a videographer would mean not being able to "relive" the wedding. That is absolutely not the case. John captured beautiful candid moments throughout the entire day and night; from the teardrops streaming down the father of the bride's cheeks as he walked her down the aisle, to the crazy antics of a slightly inebriated dance floor crowd attempting their best live rendition of Meatloaf's "Paradise by the Dashboard Light." John caught it all. He caught it all, but he never got in the way! He was constantly on the move getting so many different angles and perspectives. This was great not only for us because of the many fabulous pictures taken, but for the guests as well. John's mobility never left anyone with a blocked view. There was never any bulky photo equipment parked in front of anyone's table or causing any unsightly ceremonial visuals. So even our guests' personal cell phone pictures have unobstructed views of the events. I wish I could write a better review, because John deserves the greatest praise for his artistry and kindheartedness. John was so much more than a photographer at my daughter's wedding.
