The person that did show up was rude, intrusive during the ceremony, turned up an hour early, and then charged us an additional fee to stay for the last hour of the contract. We were deceived and treated very poorly. It makes no difference the quality of the work; the attitudes, of the photographer and the person that created our final wedding album, were appalling and it was extraordinarily unpleasant to have to be in the same room with them. Absolutely everyone deserves better! You would be really only slightly worse off to hire your friend to bring their phone to shoot your event. After all of our hard work we came out feeling disappointed & taken advantage of. The best word to describe the experience with our photographer is shameful. We got snobbed by the photographers, me and my side of the family was not even asked to take individual photos or together me and my husband. They were in my bridal room for 2 minutes ,took a few awful pictures of me getting ready. Our wedding video is so bad I could cry every time I think of it. Never watch it, it's too painful and it just makes me angry. We never got a long one just a 5 min snippet. The music is cued so out of context that I am walking down the aisle to party music. We tried to get it fixed 3 times and it's like a blind and deaf person is editing it who was also extremely rude!!! I wish I had just gone to someone else. I could have thrown the money (thousands) out of the window and it would've been better spent.

We submitted a detailed shot list in advance, which the lead photographer, Lena, admitted she barely glanced at and chose to ignore. Important, personal photos we requested were completely missed--and somehow, we were blamed. Even though she admitted fault, we were told timelines were the issue. There was no accountability, and no apology. The video team missed a key moment from our reception and gave us a rushed trailer with mismatched music. When we flagged the errors (that should've been caught with a basic review), we were told we'd have to wait two more months for a revision. Absurd. We were constantly following up on every piece of this process--Photoshop edits, album corrections, video revisions. There was no quality control, no urgency, and we were the ones catching their mistakes over and over again. We even drove out to meet with them in person to get things resolved. Jovon, the owner, made a lot of promises--that we'd be made a priority, that things would be expedited. But afterward? Nothing. He called once, said he'd follow up, and then disappeared. No resolution, no genuine accountability. The admin, Lisa, was rigid with her limited schedule and not helpful when trying to coordinate team meetings. The editing team was sweet and you could tell they really cared to make us happy, but clearly inexperienced--we had to walk them through multiple corrections on video calls they'd never done before. For the price we paid, this lack of professionalism was shocking. The only bright spot was Carlos, their lead videographer. He was kind, positive, and tried his best--but unfortunately, his efforts were drowned out by the team's carelessness. In the end, we did get our final photos and videos only because we spent countless personal hours managing their process, reviewing everything ourselves, and doing the job they should have been doing. We really hate writing a review like this--especially about a family-owned business--but we gave them so many chances to make it right, and they just didn't care enough. If you're considering Jovon Photography: they will treat you like a priority until your wedding is over. After that, you'll be chasing them for months, fixing their mistakes, and left heartbroken by how little care is given to your most important memories.

They were a pleasure to work with on the day of--organized, fun, unobtrusive, and put at ease. We're really picky about photos and video, and dislike most of the ones we see from other weddings, which often feel a bit overwrought and 'wedding'-y. BOM documented the wedding exactly to our tastes: down-to-earth, extremely well composed, and captured the day beautifully. They also did lovely posed Korean-style couple photos in addition, which was important to us. Adam, the videographer, put together a wonderful video that was also exactly what we were looking for (both a short trailer-style and a longer one, about an hour and a quarter). It similarly felt like a very natural and satisfying document of our wedding. He was also extremely patient and spent a long time working with us, accommodating our feedback to get the video exactly to our preferences. I doubt we could have found either photos or videos better from anywhere else, even booking them separately, and the package together from BOM was a great deal. Could not recommend more highly.

We met with so many teams and vendors and some were very pushy, never got back to us, reached out too often or just didn't mesh with our style. Our first call with Adam felt like we were talking with an old friend. He is laid back, flexible but gave great guidance. As soon as we hung up on our first call, it was a no-brainer. We also booked our videography through a recommendation of Adam's - the pair worked seamlessly together and the team's energy just felt good. We had an amazing introduction into being photographed during our engagement session. This was a great time to get to know Adam and also helped us understand how to be comfortable in front of a camera and what poses/moments make sense. Before our big day, we were sent an outline to be filled out with specific shots or groups of people we would want to be photographed with. This list was followed down to the tee. On our big day, Adam was also great with managing different personalities and hiccups throughout. The pictures speak for themselves. They are incredible - there is mix of black and white and color. The tone of the entire gallery is light but also dramatic. He even captured all of the fun and love that we felt on our day. I have done it before with boudoir photographers, but didn't really like any of the resulting pictures because I probably am overly critical of myself, like a lot of women. I modelled when I was much younger, but only parade and never photographic work, except for catalogue, so AWKWARD is the only way I could describe my feelings leading up to the event. I am a bit shy and not a poser, so it wasn't natural for me. Bret is a gentleman and kind of works with what look you are after - even if you do not know how to do it! We met at a very upscale midtown location of my choosing, and he prefers morning light. I have seen other photos he has taken and hoped for the best. During the session, he asks if you like certain shots and shows them to you - if you have no idea how you look, this is good and you are involved in the outcome. But what I can say to you.....always trust your photographer. How you see yourself is not always how others see you and the shot Bret liked the most I was on the fence with. Needless to say, I went with him. Male photographers see a lot of beautiful women and they probably know better than us. You think?
