I have used John Paul's multiple times for ring cleaning, for the fixing of the prongs on my wedding ring, and once for a replacement diamond in wedding ring when it fell out. They always do excellent work, and their prices are very reasonable. Now that I no longer live in GA, I have many times wished I could send my ring to him when it needs maintenance. John Paul's did an extraordinary job on my jewelry repair. I had brought in a pendant that was made from my grandmother's engagement ring to have it placed back in the original, broken, setting. They not only had superb customer service but the finished product is more gorgeous than I could have ever imagined. I got engaged Friday night and was out of town for the weekend with my fiancé. Today on Monday I needed my ring resized because I'm going out of town again on a trip tomorrow and I wanted to bring my ring with me. I called John Paul's jewelers and they said they could resize my ring today. I brought it in and I got it resized all before 5 PM. It wasn't super expensive and everyone was very polite and professional. My ring looks amazing and they did such a good job. I would definitely recommend this jeweler for resizing rings. read more

I had a custom engagement and wedding band set made here about a year ago, and they are still just as beautiful as when I got them. The rings were made from the diamonds of my grandmother's ring with new gold, so we wanted someone with great care and skill to do this project for us. John was great to work with, as I was very specific about the design I wanted and he was always very helpful to talk out ideas and the construction of the rings. He was able to do a 3D model prior to making the rings for me to check over before. The rings turned out exactly as I hoped, and it was for a very reasonable price and time frame as well. The worst customer service and bullying attitude from John Paul himself! I went in there to get a battery for my watch and then asked if my wedding ring could be cleaned. The technician cleaned the ring and examined it and the sales lady at the front said that he told her that some of the diamonds' settings were loose and they should be tightened (cost would be $28) so I said OK. I asked if it could be done in a day or two and she said probably so. I got a call the next day from John Paul himself that sounded like he said some of the stones were cracked or missing. I was concerned as I thought the ring only needed tightening and asked him about that. He got rather abrupt on the phone and just told me I needed to come in and hung up. So I went in with a friend to accompany me. We then spoke to John Paul who explained what was wrong with the ring and my friend also heard that he seemed to be saying some of the stones were cracked or missing. He quoted a cost over $350. When I said I didn't understand about the damage, he got very rude and condescending saying no diamonds were cracked or missing but rather it was the bezels (platinum holding the them in). He kept saying I brought the ring to be fixed and interrupted me when I tried to explain I came for a watch battery and just asked for my ring to be cleaned. He talked to us as if we were stupid, especially when I asked if the ring could have damaged in the cleaning to which he threw up in his arms and scoffed at us. I told him that he was being rude but that didn't change his behavior. I never got a chance to question if tightening the bezels could have damaged the platinum. He stopped his sales lady from trying to explain anything to us when I asked if I could see what was wrong with the ring and at that point he again condescendingly asked me if I knew how to look through a scope to which I replied I did. His sales lady was polite and started to offer to show me how to look through the scope but he stopped her. So I figured out to use the scope and looked at the ring were he marked it with a magic marker and I was able to see what he was talking about. At that point I didn't want to leave my ring there with his attitude so I decided to leave. He made me write down on the ticket that I had taken the ring as if he thought that I was going to make some claim against him. I wondered if this has happened before with other customers. He didn't offer to fix the ring again nor did he apologize. What surprised and upset me the most was that I've had quite a bit of work done on different jewelry there as well as appraisals and even had a ring made there but he didn't seem to even remember who I was. I do recall when I had a ring made there that he was rather impulsive and went ahead with casting the gold for the ring before I had given my final approval on the design; but I had liked it when it was finished . My friend was appalled by his behavior and we both felt we had been bullied by him. I was upset for several days after that encounter. My friend knew another jeweler (Gary at The Jewelers Touch) who is a family friend so we took my ring to him about a week later and he looked at the ring and he went ahead and fixed the two areas of the platinum that were cracked and missing and didn't charge me anything for it.!!! Gary was a very nice and friendly and had great customer service. So DO NOT GO TO JOHN PAUL JEWELERS!!!!! I stop by John Paul's today to ask a question about a neckless. The staff was great, and answered all my questions. John Paul has made several custom pieces for me. Two rings, a ruby and diamond neckless, a diamond neckless, and took my grandmothers wedding set and reset it. I can not express how great they look. John Paul is great. John Paul's did a wonderful job with my ring. My (now) fiance worked with one of their craftsman to custom design my engagement ring and it's beautiful! Best part is when I walk in the shop is when the sales people recognize the ring. They are always helpful and friendly. They will make sure you leave with a piece you will love and cherish. read more
