Participated in the Annual Heroes for Education 5K walk/run and it was one of the best experiences I've had at events likes this. Everything was very well planned. Signage was displayed everywhere, very easy to follow. So many volunteers for such an awesome event. I know that the event was the star of the day but it wouldn't have been possible without this great location. This beautiful park is one of the most expensive in the area. It has such a large variety of things to offer. I first came to find out about the park as it is a poke event day hotspot. But just after one visit we realized what an amazing park this is and often drive from two cities away just to visit. This park is a lovely escape to nature in South Florida. Boosting, many walking paths, bike paths, a dog park, a splash pad, frisbee, golf pitch, fishing areas, boating lake and many other sports areas. Overall, the paths pavement are generally well maintained, however, you do get a little bit of cracking as you do with most paved areas in Florida due to the heat- nothing too extreme, it was still easy to push a stroller. The bathrooms are always clean, yet admittedly, they are quite dated and dark on the inside, even though hygienically they are up to standards . Perhaps adding some better lighting on the inside could help make it feel a little nicer. Today while walking around the park, we visited many of the small playgrounds and our young child enjoyed getting out to play . read more

We enjoyed the beautiful scenic view of the lake with many birds and people on their kayaks as well as boats and jet skis having a great time. We went to a baby shower here where they rented out a large pavilion for the expected 80 guests. There was plenty of parking, a spot where they cooked up burgers, frankfurters, and chicken legs for everyone. We were lucky there wasn't a rainstorm that came through while attending, but it is the season. The park is spacious and nice with lots of trees and play parks for kiddos. There is a good-sized play area with some swings for the little ones and the slides and climbing playsets for older kids. I remember being a young one, loving running up and sliding down these kinds of park equipment. The weather was nice, so this event went well. I absolutely love this park! There is so much space! The trail has exercise posts along the path that you can do! There are playgrounds. Great for dogs and if you want an enclosed space, there is a dog park (Lake Woof) around the corner. There is a lot of beautiful scenery. Honestly, I can go on and on. This is my favorite spot to hoop on Saturdays with my guys! Beautiful park, would recommend it to anyone. Also this park has pickle ball courts that are nicely kept! I like to play at these courts because the courts are divided off so you don't have to worry about your ball rolling into another court! Beautiful walking trails and lake here at this park! Great running trail goes 12 miles (out and back, not a complete loop). Went early morning (7am). Sun was just rising, not too hot, some shade and trees. Lovely scenery. Easy to follow. There's 2 spots where the running path is blocked by construction but you just go into the road for that short distance and enter back onto the path. Plenty of parking and some bathrooms. read more

Park John Prince Park is one of the larger parks in the area, and while it offers quite a bit of things to do, this review is focused primarily on the playground area. For the most part, this is a great place to bring the kids on a hot day to let them run it off and tire them out. There are multiple things to climb on, through and over to keep the littles interested and when they get too hot, there is a really decent water splash area for them to cool off in. The playground equipment is in good shape and looks to be of current design (i.e., safety type stuff with lots of rounded edges). The water splash area has plenty of pressure so that the kids can shoot water cannons or play under the dump buckets and stay cool. Not bad for the parents either when you want a quick cool-down. Bathroom facilities are well maintained and there is plenty of parking. The best part? There are no fees to use the park or water area. What ya waiting for? read more

Named after Lake Worth pioneer John Prince this 726 acre park situated around lake Osborne is huge! It is so big it has three entrances. This park literally has it all, a 1 mile long fitness trail with 20 exercise stations, 4 basketball court, a 4.5 mile long bicycle/ running/ hiking path, boat ramps, dog park, fitness zone with 17 pieces of outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, 1/2 mile nature trail, picnic pavilions, tables and grills, 4 playgrounds, a splash park, 3 softball fields, 8 tennis courts, and 2 grass and 6 sand volleyball courts. I came to enjoy the walking path. It winds along the picturesque Lake Osborne which is 378 acres. I parked at the playground with the splash park and headed to my right and ended at the outdoor fitness zone before turning around and heading back. The walk was beautiful and I saw a lot of birds and other wildlife along the lake. The only part I didn't like was having the cyclists rushing within inches of me at high speeds. Even though I tried to stay to the edge of the path I feel like I had some close calls. There were also a lot of homeless folks everywhere in this park. No one bothered me but it seems sad that this is the best West Palm Beach can do for it's most vulnerable community members. This park is so large it would take more than one visit to fully explore it. After my walk I drove around a bit until the road ended for cars. I was trying to find out if there was a path that did a full loop around the lake. I am still not sure if the 4.5 mile bike/ walk path only goes in one direction or of it loops back to where you started. I tried to ask some runners who seemed to indicate the path was one way. I can go 5 miles out but another 5 back would be pushing it for me which is why I prefer looping trails. If I lived closer I would be here all the time. This is a great park for the residents of Lake Worth. read more

This park kind of has a little bit of everything from what I saw during my time here. It's pretty large, but fortunately, it's also easy to navigate through. It has a nice trail to make running easy. It's also perfect for picnics: large or small. And it has a large playground area for kids. On one end there is a golf course and the other side has the county airport. The bathrooms in true public restroom for a park fashion were sketchy. The thing that only makes it ok is that it's not a very pretty park. I didn't want to spend hours here because it was just kind of blah. It was very clean, yes, but really it was nothing more than grass- no real shrubbery or flowers other than palm trees. I wouldn't make the trip all the way up here for this park. read more

A fun packed park for mommies and daddies, oh and the kids of course! :)) There are several small and large playgrounds and each is separated by another, with the splash water play area in the center. I would like to say each playground is for different age groups but not exactly sure, just that it seems that one is for older kids, youth kids and toddlers and obviously the reason why most parents love this park besides spread wide space is the picnic areas with the water views. There are also two sets of swings one traditional one at the west side and on the east side a cute tire and chair like swings we all enjoy! I specifically enjoy the wonderful breeze thanks to all the trees that provide shade, so mom's bring out your blankets, towels, picnic food let the kids have fun while dad enjoys riding his jets ski or boat in the back. A great place for a family to enjoy a nice hot Florida day. read more

Covering 726 acres with 338 being water and, given that it boarders Lake Osborne, 35,000 feet of shoreline, it's a rather large park. It also has a wide range of amenities such like 4 basketball courts, about 4.5 miles of bicycle paths, 4 boat launching ramps, a complete RV and tent campground, access areas for kayak and canoeing, fresh water fishing, fitness zones, playground variously arranged by ages, nature trails, a petanque court, picnic shelters, tables, grills and a golf learning center. My purpose in going here was for fishing, which was pretty much of a letdown. I tried bank fishing along Lake Osborne and did some pier fishing on Square Lake. What disappointed me was that the bottoms where I fished were covered with algae decay and much of the rest of the bank areas little more than weed beds. In speaking with others fishermen of the area they were all of the opinion that any fish here run small, catches will generally be largemouth bass or crappie, and it's basically only meant to give the kids something to do when the family picnics. Evidence of the fact that most fishing either has to be done by kids or possibly some of the world's most incompetent fishermen is the fact that the few electrical lines there are in the park having fishing lines and rigs hanging all over them. I also did the trails which though very short can be rather interesting with plenty of gumbo limbo, sea grape and cabbage palm. But if you do it, it might be wise to stay on the trail as I also noted some off trail poison ivy. One the big drawbacks of John Prince Park is the availability of restroom facilities. There aren't that many of them and the distance you have to cover to get to them can be somewhat of a hike. read more

I was here for the 2019 Brain Cancer 5k. This park is very easy to access if coming from 95 with a sign just before reaching the entrance. This was an early morning event so I am guessing they opened the gates early for us. I arrived at 6:30am and had no trouble getting in but did have to look for others to follow to our area. The park was a nice, large area of open spaces with tree coverage... needed during the walk as the temp was high for a February morning. We passed multiple pavilions along the way with many runners, families and dogs. We used a portion of the running / walking path for our event. The path took us along the lake which had a nice breeze and helped keep this more comfortable. I recall passing the dog park with a few people and pups. It looked great from my vantage point. All in all, this is a very nice park and a great venue for outdoor gatherings. Enjoy! read more

A Must Read* Visiting from out of town and decided to take the kids out. Read the 15 reviews about this park and thought I'd try it out, BIG MISTAKE! First, this place is disgusting... nothing against the homeless what-so-ever, but they are everywhere. Sleeping on tables/benches that we are suppose to be eating on, shooting up heroin and leaving needles everywhere, taking showers at the kids water park or in the lake, peeing and pooping in the lake or at the kids water park (sometimes in front of the kids and families), and smell horribly! We drove around and noticed a distant (hidden) pavilion with probably 80-90 homeless all over the benches and tents pitched everywhere... I felt bad so I gave them some of my food. I became curious so I asked why there was sooooooo many of them, to which they said "The County wants us here", apparently the County built them this pavilion to live in. One also mentioned they are building them cell phone charging stations for them, CELL PHONE CHARGING STATIONS! How much tax payers dollars is that?!?! Poles aren't cheap!!! Well that's great to know, this County wants the homeless in this park where they are doing all of those nasty things throughout the park. Then I read on Google that there was a hiking trail by the camp ground, DO NOT GO THERE! There were 8-12 old old old guys with their pants down giving each other "oral favors!!!" It was horrendous!!!! I couldn't believe it!!!! How does the County allow this?!?! NEVER AGAIN PEOPLE!!! Open your eyes to your surroundings and see what other are doing! read more

Camped here for 27 years and keep coming back. Park has pretty neat wild life to sit relax and watch or listen to. Playgrounds are nice and the bicycling is great for families to enjoy. I have never had a problem at this park. Location is great you can cook there or order out to restaurants close by. Place does not cost an arm and a leg. This is a large park. They have a golf course, a very large campground, and it adjoins the county small plane airport. There is plenty of green space, trails and parking here. The park has a man made lake that runs through it, so you are usually walking along the edge of it. It seems to be a fairly popular spot for homeless people, but they have been very well behaved, minding there own business. That still makes it a bit schetchy for me. read more

I love this park! The lake is incredible and makes for an awesome run. The heart trail is really nice too and gives you the opportunity to get a nice workout in, plus it's easy on the knees. By far one of the best parks on South Florida. read more
