They have a lot of classes and programs and after care. They got a lot of improvements due to a 2020 Parks Bond Referendum. The former beach house that was in poor shape - the old tennis center. 2020, saw new heights - city did it! a new $2 million tennis center and tennis courts that has the South Florida Tennis Program. And there are a ton of tennis players here all the time. It is great to have this park in West Palm Beach! So thank you very much!

Whatever outdoor recreation you favor, you can find it in this area. If you have a shorter amount of time I would recommend Freedom Park over Okeeheelee. There is still plenty to do here at Freedom Park. My favorite part of this park is the exercise path that runs along the perimeter of scenic wetlands that attract common moorhens, ducks, and egrets. There is even outdoor exercise machines for more cardio and muscle building. This part of the park is perfect for nature lovers. For children ,there is a really colorful and fun covered playground area, a bankshot basketball court, and a storywalk that has different stations that brings together the joy of reading and being outdoors. Stations are installed along trails and children and their families can stop and read and ask and answer questions. Storywalks like this one promote literacy and outdoor exercise while fostering family bonding. Other park amenities include restrooms, a lighted soccer field, concession area, grills, picnic shelter, and a popular pickleball court. One of the standouts of this park is how spacious it feels which allows room for events, parties, and sports. The park is cleaned and well maintained with ample parking. This is the kind of park that will equally appeal to those looking for a peaceful place to unwind as well as those looking to be active. It was formerly called pinehurst park due to the street it's located on. The street is west of and parallels Jog Road, but it is a quieter less developed drive lined with pine trees. It's a perfect preliminary and pretty bit of nature -- before you enter the park. There are quite a number of facilities at the park including several athletic/soccer fields (4?), picnic pavilions (available for rent), a children's playground that has a rain cover, a colorful basketball court (for kids) with nets of all different heights, benches, walking paths (a parkour), and pickle ball courts. And I've probably missed a few... You can be as active as you'd like, or just sit and relax and watch the water or enjoy nature. I'm definitely coming back here when I have more time.

Some different friends who also Disc Golf had said it was one of the best courses around so I finally felt the urge to make it up there. The open a little early which is nice too. Entering the park is impressive in itself. There are so mnay things going on from a large lake spanning waterpark, wildlife all over, a BMX park that's a good size, and of course, the disc course. The things some had said that was obvious immediately, is that the place had far more rolling hills than any park or place in South Florida. I started off at the top of a hill and had to through down to the bottom of the hill. There were shots later where I had to throw over a pond and up a hill. From the elevation changes to the great forest and water holes, it really was worth the drive. Heck, I've been back 2 more times this month already.

During the COVID lockdown, walking the trails became my favorite pastime. Especially as a pregnant woman looking for peace and fresh air, lol. Years later, those same trails are still a favorite activity for my son and me. More recently, I've taken up disc golf and was excited to find out the group I joined regularly plays at the Okeeheelee course. It's been such a fun and engaging experience! Just yesterday, I attended a picnic at one of the park's pavilions, and it was wonderful. The swings and playground next to the pavilion made it perfect for a family-friendly event. The space provided plenty of seating and shade, so everyone could enjoy themselves without being overwhelmed by the heat. There's still so much of this park I haven't explored yet, and I genuinely look forward to continuing to visit for years to come.

It's located inside of Okeeheelee park and it's best to go to the west entrance for a quicker route. There are two areas - one for small and the other for larger dogs. The small is for 30 pounds and under and we went there since our puppy is a mini dachshund. Since it was his first time at a park, he was a little nervous at first, but he warmed up once he was there for a little while. Both of the areas are big with shaded areas and offer plenty of bags as well as water fountains for the fur babies and humans. It's best to go when it's not so hot out, which is in the early morning or late afternoon. The weather is a little more bearable in the fall and winter oppose to the spring and summer. Bring extra water and a toy/ball for fetch since there's plenty of room to run around.

There is a lot of farm land and many people own horses. The park is a generous 30.12 acres located directly on Southern Boulevard. Park amenities include equestrian trails, a 10 station, 1.47 mile exercise course, open green space, picnic tables with grills, picnic pavilions which can be rented, a playground, bathrooms, and a ball field. I like how this park has a lot of trees. They provide shade for my favorite part of the park, the fitness trail. On the day I visited people were running their dogs, picnicking, and playing softball. You feel like you are out in the country but less than a mile away is all of the strip malls selling everything you need. Really close to the park is a brand new Aldi's where you can purchase all your picnic items. This is a great place to enjoy fresh air and nature.

I let her run and play and in her nature she was in the bushes hunting. I was watching her, playing with her, and keeping her close. She was brought into the VET ER today after she was playing in the bushes hunting and came face to face with an extremely deadly and dangerous Bufo toad. EXTREMELY TOXIC TO ALL DOGS. She was having horrible seizures, foaming at the mouth and hyperventilating. If I wasn't watching her at this "Safe & Fanced in" dog park she would've died. I know there's very little you can do about them showing up. But just the simple fact it lives there, probably 20 dogs came in a out in that hour I was there is extremely dangerous. WATCH YOUR PET. They all have a very nice water fountains and nice concrete Pathways that lead to some covered benches to sit on. Each park has a poop bag dispenser and a nice big trash can. There's a little bit of a dip as you go to pull in but other than that you just park on the grass. All the parks appear to be lit in the evening
