The park also has a 1/3-mile concrete path that winds around a small lake with a floating fountain. The playground is quite large and has a soft mulch base and some sailcloth cover for a little bit of shade. The benches face the Intracoastal and I sat here for a bit to enjoy the waterside. The main portion has a boardwalk with two lookout towers. Behind the boardwalk is a fenced in walking trail with a gazebo at the halfwayish point. This was a nice hike in exploring preserved land.

We did see a few gopher turtles and a ton of spiders ‍ I couldn't find the trail until after coming home and going back through the photos to configure the direction to go down. Not too many parking spaces, but I don't think that is a dealbreaker considering it's more of an observation area. My son walked to the top to grab a few photos since I couldn't get his sleeping sister up there in the stroller.

There is a lot of farm land and many people own horses. The park is a generous 30.12 acres located directly on Southern Boulevard. Park amenities include equestrian trails, a 10 station, 1.47 mile exercise course, open green space, picnic tables with grills, picnic pavilions which can be rented, a playground, bathrooms, and a ball field. I like how this park has a lot of trees. They provide shade for my favorite part of the park, the fitness trail. On the day I visited people were running their dogs, picnicking, and playing softball. You feel like you are out in the country but less than a mile away is all of the strip malls selling everything you need. Really close to the park is a brand new Aldi's where you can purchase all your picnic items. This is a great place to enjoy fresh air and nature.

Whatever outdoor recreation you favor, you can find it in this area. If you have a shorter amount of time I would recommend Freedom Park over Okeeheelee. There is still plenty to do here at Freedom Park. My favorite part of this park is the exercise path that runs along the perimeter of scenic wetlands that attract common moorhens, ducks, and egrets. There is even outdoor exercise machines for more cardio and muscle building. This part of the park is perfect for nature lovers. For children ,there is a really colorful and fun covered playground area, a bankshot basketball court, and a storywalk that has different stations that brings together the joy of reading and being outdoors. Stations are installed along trails and children and their families can stop and read and ask and answer questions. Storywalks like this one promote literacy and outdoor exercise while fostering family bonding. Other park amenities include restrooms, a lighted soccer field, concession area, grills, picnic shelter, and a popular pickleball court. One of the standouts of this park is how spacious it feels which allows room for events, parties, and sports. The park is cleaned and well maintained with ample parking. This is the kind of park that will equally appeal to those looking for a peaceful place to unwind as well as those looking to be active. With a wide range of activities available for residents and visitors, there is something for all ages to enjoy.

It was formerly called pinehurst park due to the street it's located on. The street is west of and parallels Jog Road, but it is a quieter less developed drive lined with pine trees. It's a perfect preliminary and pretty bit of nature -- before you enter the park. There are quite a number of facilities at the park including several athletic/soccer fields (4?), picnic pavilions (available for rent), a children's playground that has a rain cover, a colorful basketball court (for kids) with nets of all different heights, benches, walking paths (a parkour), and pickle ball courts. And I've probably missed a few... You can be as active as you'd like, or just sit and relax and watch the water or enjoy nature. I'm definitely coming back here when I have more time.

I loved that it offers so many activities in one place--kayaking, paddleboarding, the beach, picnic areas, a gift shop, and educational exhibits--all at very reasonable prices. Parking was only $5, and the kayak and paddleboard rentals were affordable too. Unfortunately, I happened to visit on a day with an extremely low tide. Paddleboard rentals were suspended, but kayak rentals were still available. The staff did warn us about the low tide and advised us to stay near the edges to avoid getting stuck. However, as someone new to kayaking, I didn't realize just how much the tide would impact the experience. For a large portion of our trip, the water was so shallow that our kayaks constantly got stuck. We had to repeatedly get out and drag them through the water. At times, the water wasn't even ankle deep. I completely understand that the staff can't control the tides, but I honestly wish kayak rentals had also been paused that day because the conditions made it difficult to really enjoy the experience. By the time we finished kayaking, we were exhausted and felt pretty gross from walking through the murky water, so we ended up skipping the beach altogether. Outside of that, the park itself looked lovely. There was a nice picnic area, a cute gift shop, and they even had a rescued sea turtle with a volunteer sharing information about sea turtle conservation, which was a really nice touch. There also appeared to be several educational exhibits throughout the park, although they happened to be closed during our visit. One downside was a pretty unpleasant smell near the gift shop, but I'm guessing that may have also been related to the unusually low tide. Despite my experience, I haven't written the park off. The photos I've seen online make it look absolutely beautiful, and I think we were just unlucky with the timing. I'd definitely consider coming back on a day with higher water levels to give it another chance. It sounds like a great park overall--I just recommend checking the tide conditions before planning to kayak or paddleboard so you can enjoy it at its best.

This is a very nice neighborhood park in the 1.546 single family home neighborhood of LaMancha in…read moreRoyal Palm Beach. LaMancha was built in 1978 and expanded upon through the years. This park was named in honor of former Royal Palm Beach resident, Todd Andrew Robiner who was a football player for Palm Beach Lakes High School, a basketball star, and a championship wrestler. While attending Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois on a full scholarship it was discovered during a routine physical exam that something was wrong. It was later diagnosed as cancer and Todd passed away from the disease at the age of 21 on August 20. 1994. There is a plaque with his name at the entrance to the park. Situated on a canal, this lovely 5 acre park has a lot of amenities. These include a restroom, large playground, basketball court, sand volleyball court, boat launch, and fishing dock. In August of this year the park was renovated to include two new dog parks, one for small dogs and one for large. Dog fountains, benches, and new fencing were added to the area. A new kayak launch, expanded sidewalks and a new parking lot were also added to the park. It is very nice to sit on one of the swing benches and watch the ducks and boats sail by.
