We've happily used North Texas, dental, Dr.Nguyen, ever since we moved to Denison, Texas, four…read moreyears ago, without any problems until this year. very happy practices they have changed their financial rules this year, and they are ridiculous. I had to have a four tooth bridge, and I don't feel like I was fully informed about my options or what the bridge would be like when I received it. I found out on my last day of treatment as Dr. Chris was putting the permanent bridge in my mouth, that he had made the larger than my teeth, because he felt it would be stronger that way. The bridge is ill- fitting and it rubs the side of my cheek all the time. It is visibly larger than the other teeth, that Dr Kris told me I would get used to it and not notice the size difference. It is very hard to clean with any floss I have tried, but then I was never told what kind of floss to use. I have found that it also affects my speech production. If things have been fully explained to me from the beginning, I would have opted for dental implants, too late for that now! I've already spent almost $6000.00 on this bridge and have experienced a lot of pain and discomfort along with it, so I am not happy. Additionally, this office has changed its financial policies, and now require total estimated payment up front, before any work will be done. This policy started in August. My agreement with them started in May/June, so should not apply to me in the first place. We made a generous down payment, required in my agreement, and then when it came time to pay the balance, the accounting was all screwed up. My account was mingled in with my husband's, and she could not tell what was mine or his. she was insistent that we pay almost $300 on my husband, that he had already paid. She said he did not pay it and she could not find it anywhere in the computer. Finally, after a long financial meeting, she found his payment made actually above the amount she was requiring me to pay. My husband had to walk out of that meeting because he knew he was going to say something very ugly, and he works very hard to not do that. I brought my me, but she said that didn't matter because they didn't have them and I said I have them right here, and she said she had to get her own copies from the insurance, that mine would not meet her needs, and in the meantime, I had to pay the total amount she estimated was still due. She was very insistent, rotely repeatedly the same thing over and over, that I had to pay her estimate. I finally had to say, " you can have a choice, I can leave here paying nothing or I can leave here paying the amount I show that Medicare says I owe you after processing the claim." she stated that the choice is that I must pay upfront in the future and that today I had to pay what they estimated I have would owe. she said it didn't matter that I had They had to get their own EOB before they would have the exact amount I would owe. She never did actually choose, but she did accept my payment according to my Medicare statement from the EOB. THEN TODAY WHEN MY HUSBAND WENT IN FOR A CLEANING, SHE MADE HIM PAY OVER $200 BECAUSE SHE SAID HIS BENEFITS HAD RAN OUT. HE TOLD HER HE HAD NOT HAD HIS BENEFITS RUN OUT AND SHE WAS MISTAKEN. ANYWAY, HE LEFT PAYING OVER $200 THAT HE DID NOT OWE, which we both were sure was applied to my supposed balance, especially since his receipt showed my name only at the top. All of this financial distress caused us was only about a pittance of $300 difference in what Medicare said I should pay and what she wanted me to pay. so they are cooking the books, trying to confuse the customer to get more money that is not due them. I am very sorry you have lost two of your PAYING patients, and sorry we have to find A new dentist. ALL over a tiny percentage of a bill we had already paid. you will lose more patients over this, so I dont see how this is going to help your finances, which obviously are in a dilemma.

I have been a patient at this office for years and spent thousands to get my family the care they…read moreneeded. When relocating to the area I chose this office specifically and truly felt my children were gaining education and positive relationships with a dentistry I could trust. Today I made an emergency appointment due to a broken tooth that occurred over the weekend. I made a down payment to ensure I could attend this appointment in a timely manner to not worsen my injury. After numbing occurred, they brought me an itemized bill showing the insurance money they would receive and the very hefty payment I would have to make prior to getting care. Although they have received a massive amount of money from me both from insurance and out of pocket over the years they were rigid on not being willing to allow partial payment and bank info for a resolution the following day. Melanie mentioned that they have been charitable, although invoices show my commitment to pay for services received. This placement of finances over patient care, specifically in a critical situation, reveals their true priorities. It is obvious that with a lack of immediate care and worsening of this tooth fracture, they would only gain further financial transaction in the long run. I would recommend you choose a dentist who wants to maintain relationship with your family, who will care when your situation is critical, and who does not give you a solution of "there are other dentists you could try" Thank you Melanie, for helping me and others within our community to understand that your office has no commitment to actually maintaining patients. Healthcare facilities that function as a rotating door for new patients without priority in keeping faithful patients should be testimony enough. in the words of their own employee "you should try elsewhere."

After a 1.5 hour drive in the heat, I was told they did not take my insurance. The doctor said it would be $2000.00 and some change. I saw the screen where it listed it out. I said I'd still pay out of pocket; he said he'd have his front office people see what Aetna pays. I've always had out of network dentists and had to pay a small portion, so not 100% covered: I understand this part. Needless to say, they never called me, so I called back and the lady told me I would owe a lion's share of the $2500.00. Wait, how did $500.00 get added on? She said Aetna may pay only a couple hundred dollars; this is incorrect. I called Aetna (one of the best plans), and they do pay, it's just a lower amount. So Aetna told me to get a procedure code and a tooth number, so I called the front office back to get this information and they said Dr. Dahle said I should see a new provider? I am so confused. I work in healthcare as well and I'd never treat a client as such. Incorrect information (lies), rude front staff and then a random release of patient. I only visited them for 20 minutes or so and was ready to pay out of pocket.
