From operating out of his garage, Johnny received so much love, support, and hype from our local Foodies of Rocklin/Roseville Facebook group that he was able to open his own storefront. When I finally got my first pizza after being on a waitlist for months, he had only 4 ovens. He was so diligent and fair, keeping track of a list of potential customers. We were only allowed to order a max of 2 pizzas back then. Folks got sad after having a taste of pizza heaven and then never knowing when they could order the pizza again. The crust is special with a nice chew. Not so thin a crust that it flops. Not as thick a crust as a pan pizza. Pizza is not greasy. Slices are large. I believe the large pizzas are cut into 8 slices. I just wish the pizza had more toppings. I feel like the toppings are evenly spaced out with intention, almost to decorate the pizza. $3 to add an extra topping. However, other customers seem content with amount of toppings. I recommend eating the pizza in your car as soon as you get it or taking it home to reheat. I can't get to my final destination fast enough to eat it while it's hot. Ok I've seen posts about this place for ages and finally made a point to try it. It's a bit of a drive for me.... But let me tell you, worth it. Had to try their #1 Tony Soprano. I'm not a huge ricotta fan so was a lil nervous... but the dollops of creamy cheese are just a perfect add on to this pie. I also got the combo... without veggies (onion and Bell peppers) and man it was good! Ordering online was easy peasy. Placed my order, hopped in the car .... We've ordered both whole pies and single (huge!) slices, and they are cooked to perfection with a golden crust, delicious cheese blend, and simple but flavorful sauce. John and crew are always friendly and efficient. Be aware, however, this is a tiny shop with no indoor seating. VERY LONG OVERDUE post of appreciation to Johnny's for catering our rehearsal dinner back in November for 50+ people. Decided to finally check out Johnny's NY Pizzeria as I've heard great things about it, and my goodness do they make a good pizza! It tasted just like the pizza I got on my last trip to NY and had the perfect combination of dough to sauce to cheese and toppings ratio. Will most certainly be back in the future. I also recommend ordering ahead of time online. Yes, they have their own store front. This is a takeaway location. Johnny's opens at noon. You can call in your order, or if you walk in, you can order in store. They also sell slices in the store. I lucked out, and ordered the lunch special. It's a great deal! Two slices and a drink for about $11.00 OMG! This pizza deserves a billion stars. It's perfect NY pizza. Saw Johnny's being recommended deep within a Reddit post for the best NY style pizza and I'm glad we listened! The $10 for two slices + a drink is such a good deal and I love that it applies to the weekends too. We took our first bites and immediately said, "oh yeah, this is New York." The crust has a good slight char on the bottom, has a good bite, and is thin crust without being too floppy. Something about the way the cheese sits on the dough and their cheese:sauce ratio is also perfect bc it's slightly fluffy and gives that cheese pull! Literally looks like we're eating pizza out of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Takeout-only but service was still super nice and friendly! I've always noticed this little hole-in-the-wall spot on my way home from work, and finally decided to give it a try after work on a Friday. I called ahead to ask if they offered slices, the friendly woman who answered said they might start doing slices soon. I asked for a recommendation, and she suggested the Porky Pie if I'm a meat lover. That was all I needed to hear. The wait was about 35 minutes, which was totally fine. We picked it up and brought it home to enjoy. If you're a fan of crispy, thin-crust pizza, this is definitely a must-try in the area. The toppings were perfectly balanced and the sauce had a deep, rich flavor. I'm usually the kind of person who leaves the crust behind, mostly because it's often dry or bland -- but this crust was so good I found myself eating every bite. Literally hole in the wall pizza joint down the street from us. Wanted to give it a shot and we are so happy we did. Johnny started this venture from his garage and now he has his own place. The location is tiny next to a gas station. This is a ghost kitchen so no seating or waiting area. The people are incredibly nice and humble with their small operation. The wait time was way longer than advertised on the app so be aware. As they told me - it is a good problem to have. Finally to the pies. They're good. Really good. Reminded me of eating pizza in NY. I've been following Johnnys pizza since he's been making them from his garage. He's finally got a dedicated spot and I'm happy to support this local guy. His pizza is really good, light sauce, cheese and thin crust. Definitely reminds me of New York slice pizza and he is continuing to expand his menu. He is family owned and pretty a one man cook who makes his own dough and sauce. Try his pizza out! They also have limited hours so it is best to call in earlier in the day to get a pizza order in. This was the only pizza I'd finish the whole slice of. I ate the crust, and then went back for more. The perfect amount of cheese, the crust was made so well. The seasoning was just phenomenal. The service was awesome. I had no idea what their hours were, but I called during none pizza making hours, but they made a pizza for me. I was so thankful. The ambience was just like a truly tiny pizzeria. They'll take care of you, and make the pizza nice, and super tasty! The price was amazing for the ingredients and size. Listen, when it comes to pizza I am a snob. There. I said it. I like a creamy red sauce. I like a cheese with bite, like Wisconsin cheese, I like my pepperonis a little bit spicy and the sausage should absolutely steal the show. Now when you pair that with a thin crust it is perfection . Based on a review I read over the weekend I placed my first order today. 10/10! If I could change anything it would be to ask for a lite bake on the crust but otherwise I m a repeat customer. We really enjoyed this NY style pizza. The crust is killer. It was the best day after reheated pizza. The crust was nice and crispy. The pizza is $28 and only one size. The people working were super nice. I ordered the veggie(no onion) with a little sausage and pepperoni. I know NY style pizza is about the crust. They killed it there, but I like more toppings. Small little place nothing but take out, they have a small stone oven which is a plus. The pizza was super thin which is true New Yorker. I asked for extra cheese but not as much as I'm use too. I know it New York pizza so they're not known for pineapple on there pizza but my wife and mother like pineapple, which the pineapple was not very sweet. I got on my side pepperoni, Italian sausage, onions and bell peppers it was good but still expected better. It's been hard to find good pizza since we moved from the East Coast. So when I heard so much praise about this place, I was excited! The people are nice. It was good to meet the owner. But, sadly, the pizza was disappointing. Toppings were average, sauce was just ok, and crust was very soggy (we picked it up at the given time and ate it within 10-12 minutes). However, this was way in the beginning when one had to grab a time slot as soon as it was released. So, we waited a few months and then tried it again. Just a cheese pizza. Sad to say, it was even more disappointing! The crust was so burnt that I had to peel it off to avoid the burnt taste. Cheese was good but sauce was bland and rather meh. Certainly not worth $20 sthg when all you get is a burnt taste. This is nothing like what we would eat in NYC or around. I'm not sure what people are raving about, but then there is a serious dearth of good pizza in the Rocklin area. Slice House in Folsom is the closest I've found to NY style pizza. read more

I've been wanting to try Johnny's for a while and tonight I finally had the opportunity to put in an order. Let me tell you it was absolutely worth the wait. When I arrived the lovely staff greeted me and asked for my name. I was a few minutes early so I got a chance to hang out and watch them flying to get pizzas made. Mine came straight out of the oven and into my happy hands. We had the Marion Cobretti and the Gaaaahlic Cheese Bread. Both were phenomenal. The crust is the perfect NY style. Crisp on the bottom with just the right amount of chew. Toppings were all definitely high quality. No sea of grease sitting on top from low quality pepperoni or sausage. We have been looking for a regular pizza place as our old standard's quality really went downhill recently. We have definitely found our new go to for our Friday night pizza. read more
