Living in a remote part of NEPA, I have to travel 25 miles to hit a "city" (Dickson City). The car definitely gets dirty. There are many Self-Serve places, and of course I can always get out the hose and bucket at home - but I'm a man of modern conveniences. Finally did some googling and found this self drive-thur not far from where I do my shopping (HD and Wegmans). Not bad. $14.00 for the "works". In comparison to what I get in Florida for $15.00, it's a good deal. The soft-cloth brushes pass over your car 3 times! Only once in FL. I feel cheated - lol. Paid for service that included the undercarriage wash, pulled up and the machine that does the undercarriage is laying off to the side to were you either have to run it over with driver side tires or hug the right of the car wash, and the car is still dirty. This is the worst car wash in the area. I have been coming here since it opened. Was always well maintained. They clearly have decided to abandon their customers. No good contact number for support, the number is disconnected. No email or other way to contact them. They had a problem with the brushed wash like 3 weeks ago and it's obvious the owner doesn't want to fix it correctly. The turbo nozzle sprayers on the touchless have been stuck and spraying a single line for a month. Which is awful for both your paint and how clean it gets the car. I come here because it's convenient, but the owner not taking responsibility or caring about the customers makes it a lost cause for me. Update 12/2023: I no longer have been pleased with the touchless tunnel wash (I paid $13 twice a couple weeks apart). The sides of the car are not cleaned/rinsed well...it is leaving visible dirt streaks. I submitted a complaint the first time, expecting to at least get an apology and have the car of machine corrected/fixed. No such luck. I went a couple of weeks later with car #2...same dirt streaks were visible on the side. If visible here can't trust the wash anywhere (including wheels and underneath). There are a few new car washes in the NEPA area, I will be trying them next time. ..if they are touchless of course. I give them a 2 star for previous good washes and the current wash does take off some dirt...better than nothing but not worth the price any more. read more

Went to get my truck washed and paid 15 dollars for the wash. When prompted with the green light, I pulled in. The machines began to move, but no water or liquid came out of the nozzles. Eventually, some soap sprayed out in spurts, but not consistently. Ultimately my truck was left worse than when I entered...a dirt film with not rinsed streaks of soap. Nonexistent Customer Service! Spent $14 on the soft brush ultimate wash on 7-13-2019. Car wash malfunctioned and I never received my wash. No biggie, there is a customer service phone number right inside the bay. I left 2 VERY DETAILED messages about what happened. The recording said "we will get back to you within 48 hours." HA! Today is 7-30-2019, still no response from Johnny's! I also emailed them to no avail. Had to contact my credit card and file a claim. My advice; If you use this wash, use a credit card and KEEP YOUR RECEIPT! Johnny's will not help you if you get ripped off, but your credit card company will refund your money. read more

I waited over 45 minutes in line at 4pm on a sunny weekday a few weeks ago. With the sun I guess that's expected but this was a bit much. Every one of the bays (4 or 5) had a line out across the parking lot to the street. The excessive wait aside, there were no employees at the location for any assistance. So of course the automatic wash bay breaks right in the middle of my wash. No service lights or alarms, just the soap spray ended and nothing happened next. Forget calling for help as the phone numbers inside the wash are also blocked out. So cross your fingers and just drive out hoping not to break your car on whatever mechanics stopped mid wash under your vehicle. I wasted 90 minutes of a beautiful afternoon on this nonsense. I did get a random text message about a week later to credit me for the wash. But overall I'd say to steer clear of the hassle. read more

Went here 12/16 desperately wanting a good wash under my car. Waited in line to the road for about 45 mins to an hour Got to pay point and paid for my wash. Truck in front of me couldn't get wash to start. Tried for a good 10 minutes until the station told me I was good to go for my wash and that truck got my wash. I was stuck there with a line behind me and was not paying for another wash. I called service # on building and surprise surprise the # was not in service. I called phone number on website, that # was also out of service. I walked around building to see if there was an attendant. There was not. I came back to my car to horns blowing and people yelling at me. I had to make them back up so I could pull out. I have tried contacting this business online twice and have not got any response back or refund. I am completely disgusted that a business can run this way. I don't understand how they can't have a contact point in case of an emergency situation with the car wash. I guess next time I'll just shut my car off and leave it there or call the cops for fraud. I can only wonder how many other people this has happened to. I will also be contacting the BBB regarding this and the city of Scranton to find out if this is even legal. This is a very fancy car wash first off. It seems like it's well-kept. I was disappointed the one day when I had all this snow on my car and I got a $14 car wash and I still had to go through the car wash and automatically remove the rest of the snow and dirt.The other problem I had was when I went to the car wash again and there was soap left on the car. I again wrote the company and still nothing. They didn't even give me a discount on my next car wash they didn't give me my money back they didn't even give me an apology. I like the car wash because it's 24 hours but I don't like that they are more money than other carwashes and they truly do not care about their customers. Very disappointed! A quick and easy car wash. Touch less is better than brush car wash which can scratch. Downside is that not a perfect cleaning. My car was covered in salt due to highway driving. Of course I drive in Scranton but the city doesn't salt, sand or plough. That's a story of graft, kickbacks and politician's self interest. The automatic washes do a fine job and the self-service washes are dependable (soap, lots of it, actually comes out on soap mode unlike at other washes in the area). There is also helpful staff on site watching over the operation to keep everything running smoothly. The only issue is that Johnny's is so good that the lines can get very long on prime car washing days. read more
