About a year ago I let my son in-law borrow my chainsaw for the weekend, little did I know he had…read morealmost no experience with chainsaws... I run a Stihl 444 Magnum (One of the powerful saws that Stihl makes) which is definitely not a saw for beginners... Long story short my saw came back pissed off and barley running, turns out the head gasket was blown while in my son in-laws possession. I took the saw into Sierra cycle to have it repaired and initially everything seemed decent, the staff was very friendly and said they'd have it back in working shape within about a week... Two weeks went by without a word from Sierra Cycle, so I called the shop and after a lengthy discussion was told that there was no record or memory of my saw ever being dropped off... I was asked to bring in my copy of the work order, so I did, that didn't help my endeavor though because now I was being told that my saw was picked up already... I wasn't about to let my saw just vanish. I dug and dug looking into every possibility that presented itself and eventually after 3 months I found a young guy in town that had 90% of my saw, vin numbers don't lie but unfortunately the staff at Sierra Cycle does. The young man told me he had purchased the majority of my saw in a crate amongst other chainsaw parts and guess who he bought it from? The son of Andy who is the owner of Sierra Cycle. Be careful folks, that business is shady on a good day, you'll never catch me doing business with such crooked folks. I'm confident that karma will come out victorious on my accord... Just a matter of time!

My UTV was sent back to me in the exact same condition, twice. I sent it twice to be fixed and they…read moremaintained there was nothing wrong with it but a loose bolt they charged me $500 to fix. They also replaced my battery and the UTV still kept dying. Sent it to another UTV repair shop and as soon as they put it on the lift they said the damage was so visible it looked like a 1000 hours had been put on it. (And it hadn't been driven) The tie rod was completely busted and the front end needed work. There is literally no way DuPont (or Gott powersports) drove my UTV around and actually looked at it. Not to mention my battery only needed a battery regulator and not a whole new battery. I don't know a lot about mechanics and repair. Either they completely took advantage of my situation or they truly did not look at the utv but still charged me. I was patient when the mechanic went on vacation and was busy and needed extra time to look at my utv. Terrible experience. I will mention that Tucker, (who works in the front) he was great to communicate with and he really went above and beyond to help deliver my utv back to me on his own personal time. He was a pleasure to work with and I truly appreciate his time, efforts, and help from his friends.

Today, 11/17/2014, I went back to the shop to tell the owner, Robert, that I would like to come to…read moresome kind of resolve. Since I last talked to Robert I opened the door and examined what was going on. The regulator was installed incorrectly! There are three posts that mount the regulator to the motor for the power window. When it was installed, one of the screws was overtightened and it broke one of the posts. Therefore, the regulator was allowed movement, in relation to the motor, and then came unwound. So ultimately, it failed too. On top of that, as I stated in the previous review, more hardware was missing. I'm not just talking about finishing hardware, but the were two major component "structural" bolts missing! Now we are looking at a total disregard for the customer's safety. Also, a T25 bolt that is part of the disassembly was stripped and ground to accommodate a flathead screwdriver. What a botch job this shop did! I explained to Robert my findings. I then asked for my money back, just for the parts. Robert refused. He told me that he would take a look at it if I would leave it with him. No way! I do not trust this shop's ability. I told him I do not want anyone in his shop working on my car. I offered to remove the door panel and bring it in for him to look at it so that he can give me money back just for the parts. He refused again. I told him that he "sucks" and that I just want my money back so we can go our separate ways. He not only ordered me off his property, he also told me "F**k you Brad, f**k you." I guess at Portola Automotive Repair Robert is always right, not the customer. I may not be an auto mechanic by trade, but I am no dummy. My inspection of the extremely amateur work done by this shop is ridiculous. I think Robert is used to pulling the wool over unsuspecting peoples eyes. Sorry Robert, you have been exposed for the shyster you are. Your lot is also looking a little bare these days. Imagine that! Looks like we might have to go to court. PLEASE, do yourself and your family a favor and take your cars and trucks else where.
