However, there's limited spots. So, arrive early and be patient because you might have to cruise the lot several times. There's also free parking a few blocks down (wear comfortable shoes in case you have to take a stroll). I was warmly greeted upon entering the venue which made me feel welcomed. The show promptly started on time, which I appreciated. Anu & Ash performed to s sold out crowd! The bar offers fairly priced snacks, as well as non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. Pack your patience if you need to use the restroom because there's only two single unisex restrooms. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would return to enjoy another performance.

I am truly so glad I got to experience this festive masterpiece. From the moment the curtain went up, the production was pure holiday magic! The set, the dazzling lights, and the powerful live band were incredible. Major kudos to all the unseen heroes behind the scenes--the stagehands, lighting designers, and choreographers. Every single detail was so meticulously crafted and flawlessly executed! The Cast and the Heart But the cast... wow! I've never witnessed such a large ensemble be so flawlessly in sync with each other. As someone with a background in theatre, I was actively counting beats as each performer hit their mark--it was a true masterclass in ensemble precision! What truly touched my heart was the moment the ensemble chose to honor our vets--the genuine respect and beautiful fashion in which they did it was unlike anything I have ever seen on stage! It's a moment of profound gratitude and connection. Behind the Scenes Dedication Even during intermission, the spirit of excellence continued! Every usher and server handled the busy crowds heading to the snack bar and bathrooms with such pride and professionalism. It's truly wonderful to see a team execute their jobs with such care. A special note: while this is Ann-Carol Pence's last time performing, she remains an intricate and cherished part of the company and isn't going anywhere! We came in for a children's show on Saturday afternoon. We've been tracking for a couple weeks…read moretrying to decide which weekend to make the drive out for a show; it's about an hour from our home. The Saturday showtimes seem to be 10am and 1:30pm. We were aiming for a puppet show last weekend but landed on a science show this weekend and I'm so glad we did! We got to see "Noreen the Science Queen" and engage in a live show with her. Not only was she amazing, but it was so wonderful to expose our girls to a woman in STEM and, more special for them, a Black woman in STEM. After the show, Noreen the Science Queen greeted the attendees in the lobby. She was open for pictures, and was selling both science kits for at home experiments and copies of her book. She is also available for birthday parties!! Now about the Cultural Arts Center, they currently have two exhibits: (1) there is an art show in the lobby in honor of Juneteenth and visitors get to vote on their favorite three (2) there is an exhibit of toys and games from the 1800s on the second floor. We didn't go up to check it out.

We attended the Saturday performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony in October…read more We ended up parking at Colony Square's underground deck (which is only about a block away) since we had dinner there. When you arrive at Symphony Hall, they do not seat you until 30 minutes prior to the start time of the performance. We got seated in shortly after they opened the hall. The performance format was standard - a couple of filler offerings up front (maybe we can just forego any 'premiers' of anything from the past 50 - 60 years to save time?) and an intermission.. And then, the 9th. I had never heard this 'live' before. It was an experience to savor and remember! In addition, they had a new conductor (Natalie ???). I do not care if the conductor is male / female/ other / robot / etc., as long as the music is good - and it was very good this evening! The orchestra receive a long (and deserved) standing ovation! I have seen probably 20 or more ASO performances over the years. I think they do good work, but am not a regular member. If you choose a work that you truly enjoy, I definitely recommend this.

The Symphony Hall is very spacious and clean. Also, very organized we were greeted and helped to our seats as some on as we entered. Seating is comfortable and the forum we were in was nice and intimate. I saw Brian Culbertson for the first time a few months ago and became an instant fan. I was invited to see yet another performance at the Cobb Energy Centre. In November, it was the…read moreAtlanta Ballet's Moulin Rouge. Last month, it was Oklahoma! This month, it was The Wizard of Oz. I feel like I should join some membership program or something. Like Oklahoma!, The Wizard of Oz is part of Gas South's Broadway Series. It showed February 3-6, 2011. Out of the performances I've seen, The Wizard of Oz has been the most entertaining thus far. It's mainly because of the bright, colorful, and lavish costumes and sets. It also doesn't hurt that The Wizard of Oz has more well known, catchy, and classic songs ("Somewhere Over the Rainbow," "We're Off to See the Wizard," and "Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead"), uses a projector and several special effects, and a real dog for Toto. There are also some scenes in this stage production that were not in the 1939 film. The cast was excellent: Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow, Lion, Wicked Witch of the West, etc. Great voices, great acting, great singing. And there were Munchkins of all shapes and sizes. You could tell the audience was really getting into it -- singing along with some songs and clapping with enthusiasm before a scene was even over. Too bad the free parking lot across from Cobb Energy Centre (which Addy C. told me about for Moulin Rouge) is now under construction. We were forced to park on-site in the deck for $6. The $6 parking fee was not as bad as getting out of the deck after the show. The traffic was so bad, it was like leaving a football game.
