Our fur baby, Adi. is an almost 16 year old Shih Tzu who has been cared for by the outstanding staff at Jones Bridge Animal Hospital since July, 2010. For the past several years, Dr. Sherry Hilton has been our go to veterinarian who seems to know Adi as well as her own family. It is not unusual to receive a call from Dr. Hilton at our home whenever any special labs have been necessary. We are grateful that our girl is pretty healthy still as she has a treatable thyroid condition, has some small stones controlled by modifying her diet and some inexpensive meds. Adi has some occasional anxiety with changes in barometric conditions, but a Thunder Shirt and a very small dose of Travadone does the trick. BEST exotic vet Dr. Kim always goes above and beyond to care for my leachianus geckos. These are the largest geckos in the world and need specialized care. She always gives them excellent care and then some. My geckos have been to John's Creek Veterinary Clinic for general care as well as emergencies and she always gets them back into tip top shape. Today I took Charlotte (gecko in picture) to Dr. Kim as she had unfortunately prolapsed after laying eggs. Due to my being sick I missed the issue and Charlotte went a bit before I took her in (I'm the worst ) Dr. Kim was able to treat the issue next morning that UGA emergency was unable to get to until next week. **Update** had had to physically drive in to get them to approve it and I'm only allowed to get one of the medications and not the other one. I understand it as a controlled substance but I ordered in plenty of time for it to get to me before I ran out. If you're going to push a service and your customers, and you need to always support the service when they use it. Currently sequestered in a back room waiting currently for almost 10 minutes for someone to talk to me about this. I keep getting emails to buy my dogs medication online through their webstore. The prices are about HALF of what they charge in person at their location. I ordered and have been waiting 6 days for them to approve the order. I called in yesterday morning and Dr. Kim is the only one that can approve the orders. I asked if they could get this approved since I will now run out of medication before it ships ... If It Gets Approved. They said the are more than happy to sell some to me from their store at Double the Price!! This is horrible service! Did not hesitate to take my $400 to tell me my cat was diabetic, but definitely hesitated to get me in for an appointment to get insulin and learn diabetes management when I was in tears over my sweet boy's health. I have been going to this vet fir years. I have spent thousands of dollars here. I've had three different vets treating my cat there who have each confused her illness with the wrong thing. One vet told me my cat doesn't have kidney disease, another one told me she does have a kidney disease, I'm sad because I've spent over $5000 in a few months there, and my cat still keeps getting sick. The front desk staff have been so rude to me by refusing to treat me and they are downright rude to me. I am so sad about this behaviour. Went to Johns Creek Veterinary Clinic last week. Had horrible experience! I have owned cats my entire life, lived in several countries, and several different states. I've been at many different vet clinics in my life, and this one is one of the worst! Not because when you come in first you see is a dog poo on the floor, or absence of paper towels for your hands in the bathroom, not the old and dirty office overall. I can ignore that if the staff is nice and caring. But this office is a conglomerate of unprofessional, rude, greedy, and snotty people including their assistant, receptionist, and a young lady doctor who took my cat to the other room to give him shots, deworm, and who knows what else she did (or did not but I have to pay) in the other room. Over the phone we agreed on one particular shot and procedure upon scheduling, but when I came to the office they completely changed everything and started doing what was not agreed on. The lady doctor refused to do the procedure that I scheduled to do and told me that there is another doctor that does it. I am sure that the receptionist knew about this and failed to schedule us to the correct doctor who is more competent about this issue. So 1.5 hours and $150 later I am home with nothing. BEAWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They don't care about you or your pet. They care about your money. read more

Been going here for 14 yrs.. Dr Kim has always been fantastic.. but the office staff has gone WAY downhill.... very cold and unfriendly. Also... the prices have become crazy over the top.. not in line with any other vets in the area. Almost seems like they are "taking advantage" of the Johns Creek economy..... This practice is unprofessional, unethical, & a financial scam. I transferred my pets' care here in February. One of my dogs was being treated for a fracture that was not healing. I came here for a second opinion. At the first visit, Dr.Pettit stated my pet's leg would require amputation.I took my dog to see an orthopedic specialist who stated amputation was not needed,& suggested surgery.Surgery was later cancelled as the leg began to heal. I was very uncomfortable at the first visit as it seemed Dr. Pettit just suggested the "easier" route & did not care about actually helping me or my pet. Due to the clinic's positive reviews, I returned however.While my pets have received care here, I have been disrespected by the front desk staff on several occasions. They write notes in my chart & complain about me rescheduling my pets appointments or arriving late. I am a mental health therapist as well as a doctoral student &have a very hectic&demanding schedule. If I reschedule or am late, there is a legitimate reason. I prioritize my dogs' care & would never delay urgent treatment. They cancelled an appointment that I was 20 mins late to once despite me calling to advise. I was upset on the phone regarding the cancellation as I was preparing to arrive at the clinic. The office manager, Chasity, was very rude to me. She raised her voice &stated I was"disrespecting her & her staff." Every time I go to this clinic, me & my pets sit in the room for long periods of time without acknowledgement from staff. The wait time &pricing are outrageous, &they treat you less than when you communicate a concern about pricing/your ability to afford a service.Things have escalated. My dog was hit by a car on 4/5. He received emergency vet care the same day & I was told to follow up with my vet. We saw Dr. Pettit on Saturday April 6th. Rather than examining my pet, she tried to persuade me to surrender my pet to them due to me having financial constraints that impacted my ability to pay an invoice for over $1000 for xrays, meds, etc.I declined. Dr. Pettit didn't seem pleased. My pet was in my lap the entirety of the appointment. She did not examine him on the table or take him to the back. He received fluids, pain/nausea meds only due to my request. I made an appointment to follow up during the week for x-rays & further care. Dr. Pettit filed a false report with my county's animal welfare department stating I was "neglecting" my dog & "not providing him with vet care." How am I not providing care if he went to an emergency vet, saw you on Saturday, & received care at another clinic for xrays etc.? Where's the just cause for this report? My pets are healthy &well taken care of. I ensure my pets receive all necessary vet care.I then spoke with Chasity, the "office manager" who stated she would not have "touched my pet either if he was in pain & wanting to bite." That is what sedation is for and Dr. Pettit made no attempt to do so or properly evaluate him. Chastity is not a vet.I do not care what she "would do." A vet treats sick/injured animals.Dr. Pettit did not examine my pet at all. Chastity yelled at me on the phone due to me being upset, rightfully so, that the county was called, and I was accused of neglecting my pets. She then said it was "good" that I would not be returning to their clinic and hung up. This clinic discriminates based on race&socioeconomic status. They overcharge &have to be asked to provide basics(rabies certs,flea meds). The office manager has no customer service. I would not recommend this place to anyone.The case filed against me for "neglect" was closed within less than a minute of meeting with animal welfare. I have filed a complaint with the state against Dr. Pettit as she is incompetent &allows personal biases to affect her vet practice. Do yourself&pets a favor, stay clear of here.Especially if you are not physically/financially what they"typically"see. If I could give zero stars, I would. We found a kitten that was barely alive! I called in advance to ask them what they would charge and I made it very clear I could not keep this kitten. Two days before Christmas and the coldest temperatures we have had in years- I just could not let it freeze to death. They told me $70 office visit! We took him in and gave the cat oxygen, 6cc of fluid subQ and warmed him up. One of the technicians, kindly agreed to keep him - but we are Still not even sure if he is going to survive When i left they attempted to charge me $360!! I have rescued several dogs in my past, and I know what fluids and oxygen cost! They would not come down on the price. Finally agreed to change it back to regular office visit instead of jacking the price up for an " emergency" Then, the sweet that technician who is keeping the kitten, agree to pay half! From the front desk, to the techs and the groomer - they all make you feel welcome and that your pet is loved. They greet my baby by her first name and love on her every time she walks in the door. Recently we found out some devastating news, but Dr. Mayberry was so compassionate and did not make me feel guilty for wanting to do palliative care. I love this vet's office so much, I wanted to leave another review after bringing in my second dog for JCVH to care for. I don't trust many vet's office to provide the type of care that they've shown me and my fur babies in just a few months of meeting them, and they'll forever be our vets office, even if I end up moving further away, because they are THAT good. The entire staff has been great. Dr. Hargett has provided out of this world service from day one with many check-in's throughout months and making sure we had my senior dog on the right plan as he's older and has acquired health problems. Because of a cross-country move and my senior dog developing health issues that requires alot more of my care, I haven't been able to take on a job and they've been really understanding and helpful with assisting me in keeping costs low. The front office staff and techs have been so incredibly great on each visit for both dogs. Breanna, Krystal and Maggie (hope I spelled their names right) have offered such incredible care, that I haven't experienced with any other vets offices (and I have been to alot throughout the years). Maggie even once said she "loved" my older dog when I brought him in- who is kinda a mean and biting animal, so the comment sincerely made my heart full- and it goes to show how much care they give their animals and understand how much our fur babies mean to us owners. I recently relocated to Georgia from California and have two dogs. The younger of the dogs is a chihuahua that's healthy to travel, so my ex-boyfriend and I decided we would share custody of her and he would take her back to Cali from time-to-time. We were keeping her vet in California, but after Dr. Hargett and his team has taken such incredible care of my other senior dog, I knew I had to switch to bring her here. I'm really happy to have both my dogs under the care of these wonderful folks who care so much about their patients, and I recommend them to everyone I know in Atlanta because no matter where you are in the city, they are so worth the drive. read more

I can't no believe what happened to my dogs when I got them back. I have an Alaskan Malamute (recently rescued and in bad shape) and a Swedish lapphund, two every fluffy dogs. First off I already took them to the vet 2 days prior and was told they still need a comprehensive exam. Why would I need to have another same exact exam done?! Second, they didn't even tell me my Alaskan Malamute has warts on the body and lump (cancerous) on her underbelly. After paying $69 for an exam and not tell me anything they found is ridiculous. Third, I asked them to be shaved but with an inch of fur left bc they shouldn't be completely shaved due to their breed. The sun can really damage their skin. As a vet they should know that but I got them back completely shaved, patchy job and completely dehydrated and never taken out to use the restroom for 9hours. Both dogs swallowed a gallon of water once we got home. My bill was $361 for this shit job. read more

After stumbling across these other reviews and taking many years to consider what happened in my situation, I finally feel free and comfortable to share my experience with this clinic. I lost my cat of 18 years back in 2014. It was one of the most devastating events of my life. I can't help but think that negligence on this clinic's part, played a role. When I first brought him in, I do believe he was already starting to get sick. He had shown a few signs here and there. I took him in to get groomed (he had long hair), and to look at a few of the issues he was having. I am convinced it was the grooming that killed him. I fault myself still to this day for this. The guilt consumes me. The called me and told me he wasn't tolerating his bath well, and that they were going to give him a sedative that's safe for older cats, to help relax him. Like a fool, I agreed to this. I assumed they were experts. Two weeks after receiving that shot, he was gone. His kidneys never recovered from it. Couldn't process it out of his system. In fairness, I do believe his kidneys were already failing. However, that sedative sent them into hyper-failure mode, and he died a slow death. I believe I still would have lost him about a month or two later, but the shot sped it up. Every day I wish I had told them to stand down on that shot (started with a D). My poor baby. I feel so irresponsible. I didn't protect him. I didn't research the sedative. I trusted the experts. My advice: If you have an older kitty, even one in good health, DO NOT accept a sedative of any kind unless it is medically necessary. A bath is not medically necessary. RIP my little boy. read more

The front office staff was pleasant on the phone and actually got me in for a same day visit. I recently had a horrible experience with another vet that misdiagnosed my bunny, Dr. Kim was definitely the veterinarian I needed to see. She performed a thorough exam of my bunny and explained everything to me in detail. Told me the issues with my bunny and explained it wasn't a situation that she had to be euthanized as recommended by another vet. I felt extremely comfortable there and just the overall experience was pleasant. I have found the perfect place to bring my fur baby for her medical needs. Like doctors and techs no use for the groomer I picked up my dog today from grooming and was SHOCKED to see his body fur had been cut when I specifically wrote it not be cut....the groomers concession was to refund $20 as he receved a partial groom. The fact is she deserved nothing for doing such a bad job - she may know how to cut a dogs hair but she knows nothing about breed specific grooming. HE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK FOR GROOMING, and I will not be able to board him because they bath the dogs and she might get carried away again. They communicate well and explain everything in detail unlike some other clinics that just tell you "the exam went well" my only complaint is one receptionis, Serena. She is extremely rude every time we call and doesn't seem to care about anything other than getting off the phone. I love this place because of how it feels when you come in. Its like this little home that is so cozy and welcoming. The lobby is decked out with a spiffy little latte machine that is free for everyone brave enough to use the "machine" Only catch is that you really can't stay at the lobby too long as it is tiny, and that's a problem because my dog thinks he's bigger than everybody else and will try to attack dogs 10 times bigger than him, no really 10 times. I wish they had a slightly bigger lobby so i don't have to apologize constantly for my dog's little man complex. Staff are absolutely amazing. All super helpful and experienced. The veterinarians are great, always willing to answer my 1000 question without making me feel awful, actually they welcome it. They also take their time to get to know your dog and its just great to see that they care. Only bad thing is, its probably more expensive than your typical vet, but so worth it. I've been meaning to write this review for a long time. I came in as a new patient when my cat stopped eating and started losing a lot of weight. She was jaundice and we later found out that she had developed a liver disorder. When we walked in, we immediately knew we would be in good hands. The staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We grabbed a latte from their awesome machine, and waited for our little patient to be seen. The vet was very straight forward with us. He had a strong suspicion as to what was wrong, and that we had brought her in just in time because cats deteriorate rather quickly when they have this condition and aren't seen about immediately. It was true, our cat had fallen sick very quickly and had gotten much worse with each passing day. He said our cat had a good chance of pulling through, and that just the week before there was another cat that had come in too late. It scared us to think of losing our sweet cat, but I was comforted by his optimism. He ran the necessary tests and knew exactly what treatment to provide for her. Thank God. The treatment was tedious (our very unhappy cat was NOT feeling up to force feedings and having shots) but it was worth every penny to see her act like her normal self again after a while. I am happy to say that our kitty, Orange Beast, is alive and well a year later, and she is propped up against me snoozing as we speak. They really did save her life. We live in New Orleans now, and are still in the process of establishing a new vet here ("vet hopping" for now until we find a decent one) but I absolutely recommend JCV for anyone that is looking for a vet in the area. I have had rabbits as pets for years and every dedicated rabbit owner is relieved to meet a vet that knows more about rabbits than even they do. I found it in Dr. Arlene Kim. Most vets, even if they treat exotics, aren't very familiar with them. Dr. Kim is knowledgeable, attentive, gentle and truly cares. I was even more impressed when a few days after our visit she personally called to see if my bunny was feeling better. WOW!!! I also used their boarding services when I went out of town for a week. They made it easy to place a reservation, set up on site and check out when we returned. I didn't like that they never let her out of her cage for playtime unless I paid extra for it, but since I had to bring along her cage from home she had some room. I have never taken my rabbits to be boarded, but since absolutely everyone we knew was also coming on the trip, I had little choice. After 8+ years, it has become clear that this clinic has lost its way. Having three dogs all with chronic medical conditions (a 12 year old with arthritis, a 6 year old with severe hip dysplasia and a 3 year old with Addison's) we are well versed in both prescriptions and vet costs. Despite cost increases and their decision not to match online rx costs, we still went (although we started using online pharmacies) When our 3 year old dog was brought in last fall having what turned out to be an Addison's crisis, she was initially misdiagnosed as swallowing something and we were told thar she needed x-rays for $1000. We explained that it was not possible since she did not pick things up off of the floor and asked that they consider other options. It took a while for them to get off of the x-ray diagnosis and fortunately they found the addisons. With the bill arriving at $1500+ without the x-rays, I feel that we were pushed to spend much more without a valid reason. However, the breaking point was when I sent in a request for a refill for Metacam- after not hearing from them for a week,-I called them the day before Easter where they told me they couldn't give me a refill without blood work. I offered to bring him in the next week but that I had already paid the online pharmacy for the rx and I needed at least enough med to tide me over- not good enough -it had to be that day. That is simply unacceptable. We are now moving on. read more

DO NO USE JOHNS CREEK VETERINARY CLINIC. I have had terrible experience with this clinic and will never ever recommend them to anyone. First of all, they can no keep staff and the staff they have leaves ALOT to be desired. My dog has developed Kidney failure which could have been avoided or at the very least treated earlier had Dr. Kim been more attentive instead of sending my dog home with an antibiotic and told to return in a month considering he was eating and had elevated Kidney rations 4 weeks ago. They have had a revolving door of Vets and with each visit the new attending had to be updated on the case. Two weeks into the treatment I demanded that they see my pup again which Dr. Pettit did and recommended that I go straight to an ER Clinic for my dog to begin IV treatments. He rations went from 2 to 11 in two weeks SO NEEDLESS to say he could have been treated before it got out of control. All Pets Emergency and Referral on Hwy 9 IS THE BEST THERE IS with a full staff caring on the clock personnel who are educated and CARE. read more

I brought both my cats here for a check up, shots etc. I got an appointment scheduled the day before and didn't wait when I got there, which I love and those services certainly don't go unnoticed. The exam on both my pets were thorough and felt they had a good yearly visit and all my questions were answered. However, for only a four star and not five is their communication in this office is pretty bad. I gave the vet technician a few issues my youngest cat was having and she didn't relay that over to the doctor and had to catch him before he walked out. Also, some extra treatment my car received over regular shots was not put in our final invoice which messed up our total and idk but everyone else but I HATE being told I have to pay more when my final price was already disclosed. I've been taking my cats here for about 2 years now whenever they need there shots or emergency services. I can easily get in whenever I need to without worrying about their schedule being too full for days out. Hours are great for later schedules and works well if you can't come right at 5. My only issue is they sneak a lot of services in your big treatment plans and staff seems to always be turning over. I've not once seen the same vet/technician twice. I enjoy bringing my cats here. Taking them to the vet sucks but thankfully this is an easy convenient place to find and quick easy service. read more

When we moved here, they were aggressively pushing an insurance option where they claimed you would save money by paying a monthly fee to cover certain services. On the contract, there is nothing about a specific time commitment. We asked if we could end at any time and were told yes. Now that we are planning to move, they are telling us the contract was with an outside vendor and that many of their clients have gone through collections to end their contract. The young woman at the clinic also said Johns Creek Vet calls or emails in advance of an automatic renewal to let clients know they have time to cancel. We received no contact. They no longer push the service but they also take NO RESPONSIBILITY for giving clients a contract without these specifics and had employees not well-versed on the product required to push it.
