He returned with the two iced teas and hour later I inquired where was the dinner replied that the system changed and order was not placed . We left after that . A week later I went back to have lunch and ordered the salmon , it was loaded with bones I asked the waiter is this normal he replied sometimes you get a bone however this wasn't just a bone or two. I ordered over the phone but still had to wait an hour and 30 minutes to get my food. I waited inside the entire time. The owner/manager has a poor quality control system. She answered both phones ignoring the long line of customers. Behind her was a table full of cooked orders. Neither her or the cooks wore gloves despite her touching the phone and handling money and cards. She gave priority to belligerent customers. Yelled at a cook who arrived late. I saw fish sit on the counter un-refrigerated for at least an hour. I had no business trying the fish after all I noticed. The fish was okay but not worth the wait nor the price. Me and my family have been coming to John's for years but ever since they let the daughter start working here it seems that she's trying to run off people. Today I called to order fish, and she led with " thank you for calling John's fish market we aren't taking EBT at this time". I was paying with cash but it seemed that when she heard the tone of my voice, she assumed that I would be using EBT. Also, since the daughter has been working here, when I would come into the the fish market she looks at the customers funny especially black customers which is funny because this fish market is located in the heart of South L.A., where it's predominantly black and brown people. A guy named Hunter helped me today , and I have to say, it's been a very long time that I've encountered someone so polite and professional!! At first glance, he was your typical curly brown haired surfer boy, but when you started talking to him, you realized that he not only was adorable (and young!) but so kind and efficient.
