The ONLY reason why I even stopped her is due to the fact that I had a jones for some fried fish while making a round in the area. The parking lot is small just like the portions. Service was hit and miss. I used to come here as a child but I see that the quality has declined rapidly even though the fish is still good. This is honestly one of the best fish markets in town. My favorite dish from this restaurant are the greens. I do not know what they do to them, but they are the most tastiest thing at this market. I usually get the red snapper and shrimp dinner. My sister sometimes get the mac and cheese and she enjoys it. But the meal I usually get is about $10, simply because seafood can be a bit expensive. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend. Oh yeah, one more thing, it is a good idea to make your order over the phone especially if you live close by. Advice to call in not in the best area and parking lot is small different cook today I can tell the food looks different I know now to only come when John is cooking he gives fresh cut fries and larger pieces of fish for $9 fish dinner and they have a B for the health dept. They sold me spoiled (1lb )catfish the owner speaks the her employees with no respect and didn't want to exchange it for a different fish or a refund . i called the help inspector on her because she was rude and didn't want to give me fresh fish she was like no no no it's not spoiled but why would i call and go all the way back to end up with nothing. She has a sign in the window stating "due to Covid 19 if the food leaves the building no refund". I didn't want a refund i just wanted a fresh order. I went in without acting out which i should have being that i went all the way home to feed myself and children only to have gotten spoiled fish. She (the owner) stated that we ate the fish but then said we received more than a pound. I didn't pick/weight the fish myself the cooks did all that. i came home and went to feeding my family and the fish was bad. The employees knew it was old also , one volunteered to pay for a new order and i told him no because it's not his fault that his Asian boss don't care about the customers she makes them cook the old fish .the owner is Asian and is in a black and brown community & she thinks we are dumb . I highly recommend that no one ever goes there and pray that the employees can open their own fish market up and serving the community without this type of hater stress. I pray i don't get sick or my children. Praying that the health inspectors find the ostyers and fish i saw on the floor in the back. This place is a joke i baught 2 prawns and a catfish lunch when i bit into the prawns they tasted and smelled like shit. I brought all my food back and had to argue with the chef that ot was good then offered to give me money for the prawns only. Eat here if you wanna die over. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. The quality has drastically decreased over the years. We purchase food there today and not only was everything greasy, I could tell the oil was oil that it was cooked in. The food did not have enough seasoning either. The dessert is horrible, so please do not try them! I will not be going there again. read more
