John and his crew came out today and removed a total of 5 trees, a large redwood, a palm, 2 cherry trees and 1 I am not sure. I queried Tree Service on my smart phone for Fresno California and came up with several hits. One of those being John's Tree Service. After reading the reviews on yelp of several companies, including the reviews for John's I decided to make phone calls to at least 3-4 businesses to set appointments for estimates. The last person I would call was John's tree service. The reviews were not the best but he was the 1st person to call me back. What I liked was that he was available the same day to come to my home and give me an estimate. Things got better from here on out because he was finishing a job at the Airport today and if we could agree on a price and what needed to be done he could do my job tomorrow. We came to a meeting of the minds and he said he could be at my home at 8 a.m. Great I thought!! My experience could not have been better. They showed up on time. His workers knew their jobs and worked efficiently. They were very professional in their work ethics. My entire career was working with customers and meeting the customer's need, therefore, I am uniquely qualified to write this positive review. In spite of previous reviews, John' s Tree Services deserve 5 stars. I did not find him rude, disrespectful or condescending. His prices were very fair. I knew once he gave me his quote, there was no need to look anywhere else. I found him to be a delightful as well as a professional person. I called immediately and cancelled all other potential estimates because I knew his price could not be beat. Thank you Mr. John and your crew. I was looking for someone to remove a tree from my backyard, and so I googled tree removal fresno. John's popped up, and I gave them a call. He was able to come out the next day and gave me a free estimate, and was willing to negotiate on the price. We came to an agreement and the next day he and his crew came out and took the tree down. It wasn't a crazy job, but I think they were at my place for around 30 minutes. Tree gone, all cleaned up. Great work, nice guy, I'll definitely use him again if I need any more work done. read more

I just called John to see if he would come by and give me an estimate to haul away what I have already cut down. He told me his price is $450 and up. I told him I would have to try a different way of getting my limbs hauled and said thank you. He said nothing in return and hung up. What is up with that? read more

Needed an Oak tree cut down. Called John. Him and his crew came out the next day removed the tree, ground the stump, and left the yard looking like no one was ever there. Getting ready to call him again. read more

Very rude on the phone, and an "estimate" (without looking at the job) to haul away a pile of branches was "$575 and up". Look elsewhere.

John didn't want to take a job because I couldn't meet him at the property either. I know it is probably better if I was there but he didn't even want to talk to me, just said "not interested" then hung up. read more

He was rude and wanted to charge at the minimum $550 just to remove a tree that I had already cut down!! Ridiculous

Had the pleasure of standing in my driveway, yelling over the sound of a tree chipper at 7:45 this morning, trying to get John's Tree Service to move their truck out of the way of my car so I could get to work. They obviously couldn't hear me, and refused to turn off the chipper, so instead they chose to pretend I never said anything. It took 3 times to get them to finally move. All of that on top of the fact that it was 7:45 in the morning and my wife was about 10 feet away, still trying to sleep. I told them it was rude and they actually tried to argue with me that it wasn't. The worst part of all of this is that I wasn't even the one that hired them! read more

I am glad I did NOT check Yelp before hiring this guy. I needed three trees removed and 1 large tree trimmed. He gave me a free quote the same day I called him, was the best of three quotes I received and had the job started/completed the next day, in the rain! Listen, they guy may cuss a bit, but I like that, old school, plus, he does one hell of a job. I am glad I now have a 'tree guy'. read more

I called John on Wed afternoon and he happened to be on the road, so he came right over and gave me an estimate that I accepted. He and his crew where at the house the next morning at 8:30, in the rain, and went right to work, finishing the removal of four large trees that were 2 feet from the house and right next to the pool. When they finished, the cleanup left the pool area cleaner than when they started and virtually all the debris was gone. Absolutely impressed with the price and service and would heartily recommend John to anyone needing tree service. read more

I called for a price to have a tree removed and I found John to be very rude! I asked him if he would give me a price he said he would be happy to meet me in person at the property and I explained to him that I live on the East Coast and he said he would need to meet me. Now why would I need to fly to Fresno to meet him over a tree. Apparently John's business is booming and he doesn't need the work. I would try another company that knows how to talk to people as well as understand that not everyone has the time to meet him in person. Today I called another company and they are removing the tree first thing Monday morning. read more

I wish I would have looked at these reviews before I called this company and had them come out. He was rude and condescending, cursed and gave me a ridiculous price only to slash it in half when pressuring me to agree to the job right then. And women- be extra careful, he stood basically "on top of me" and every time I would inch over to get some space he moved and rubbed up against me again. He had a really creepy, machismo vibe and I couldn't wait till he left. read more

John came out to give us an estimate. He showed up on time, gave a reasonable quote and was able to perform the job the same day. He removed 2 trees and trimmed one. They did a great job and completely cleaned up their mess. Very happy with service and will refer John's Tree Service to friends and family. Those who've had negative experiences seem to want him to perform services without meeting someone at the property which is a bit odd and a huge liability for him. If they have ever owned a business and had to worry about liability and lawsuits they would understand. Keep up the good work John!! read more
