Some of Dr. Johns M. Yancey's work can be viewed in my profile picture top dark yellow ones is Yancey's work. I spent around $10,000.00 for some crowns and a front bridge. Dr. Yancey reminds me of a used car salesman always changing his story and then saying he never said it. All of the crowns and the bridge have a different color. Two of the crowns looks like they were made in someone's basement. Gums receding 6 months later although I keep my teeth clean and flossed daily. Dental bridges have never felt right and I have a lot of sensitivity now from them and have had it less than a year. I could of just had braces rather than bridge and just had one of my front teeth fixed instead of a 6 tooth bridge. I was never informed of this by Johnsburg Dental by Dr. John Yancey or Dr. Conrad W. Mazeski.The bridges that were placed were not re-glazed after adjustment which makes them feel unclean and feel majorly plaque covered. Dr. Yancey said he had a special polishing bit so they did not need reglazed. Equipment is dirty and outdated which made me uncomfortable and I should of went with my gut feeling then to go somewhere else. Before having any work done I would recommend doing lots of research on what you are having done. Get the dentist to give you an itemized list of what exactly they are going to do and the products manufacturer name, warranty, and material they would be made out of. Johnsburg Dental gives a very vague list of work to be done and do not list specifics of quality and types of metals to be used. When asking Dr. Yancey the type of crowns and bridges that were placed in my mouth he always tried to avoid the question and would say polishable metals. That could be lead for all I know. It is clear that legislation should be more stringent in the state of Illinois to make disclosure to dental patients more clear and outlined what their options truly are. read more

As far as dentist offices go, I've been to better for the price. Without dental insurance it is expensive to get work done, and they did offer a cash payment discount. My main problem is the amount of time and appointments it takes to get anything done. I saw Dr. Yancy and when I called I made an appointment to have two cavities addressed, which would need crowns because the teeth broke. He only addressed one tooth, which when he was putting the post in saw that there was another cavity between the teeth that he didn't want to fix right then, and I had to argue and insist that he fill the cavity. My second tooth in need of a crown was not addressed at the visit and I was encouraged to make another appointment. I work, I can't take off work to have 6 appointments to have multi-step appointments. I went to another dentist who did ALL the work in ONE appointment, for less money. read more

My family( myself, husband, and five children) has had the privilege to be treated by this dental office for the past 16 years. The dentists are knowledgeable and the staff is extremely personable. We have nothing but great things to say. It says something about a dental office when you're successful in a small town because word travels so fast. Dr. Yancey is a talented dentist and a family favorite! I had the misfortune of breaking off my two front teeth while eating a nectarine. I called the office in a panic and explained the situation. Dr. Yancey's response was, "Come on in and I'll have you looking like a movie star in no time." I was apprehensive about the work because it would be so visible in the front. To say the least, Dr. Yancey's work was fantastic and I did indeed leave the office looking like a star! read more

I have been coming to this office for many years now, and I also have my son one of there patients aswell they ALL are super nice and treat you with respect. Dr. Yancey is great, he's honest and is upfront about future work. He will not do work that isn't necessary. I have recommended this office to friends and family and they all are pleased with the services they are providing. I give them a high 5, I feel comfortable and homey when I'm being cared for. The girls are great with reminding me of my appointments and I love that they adore and take great care of my son. They have made it a great experience for all. Went here for the 1st time on recommendations from friends. Everyone is so friendly and wonderful! I got to meet both the docs...changing of shifts, but Dr. Mazeski came in just to introduce himself before he left for the day which was very nice. Cleaning was wonderful, Dr. Yancey came in after cleaning...a filling to be replaced, but other than that...told me I had great teeth! After going to a prior office where they tried to sell me on EVERYTHING and money was their main concern, not the patient...Jburg dental was a very pleasant experience.
