The beers were all good--not great but good-- except for the winter ale which was great! Disappointed in the raspberry mocha stout not being labeled a pastry stout since it was so sweet! I went to their walnut st location. It's got a really great prison yard vibe for the kids in the back yard. If your little ones try and get away, they'll likely get caught in the razor wire so you can drink in peace. We asked about a corkage fee to open some wine for my wife but they said no. The $14 dollar burger was ok. One of the burgers came out raw. It's an 1/8th pound burger so that's hard to do but that's what happens when it's cooked by a 10th grader. Also the bun was cold. It feels like the owners opened before they were ready. All in all it was a standard restaurant experience in Johnson city. read more

What a great place. Right on the corner so you can see what's going on in town and it's across the street from the general store. There's great parking behind the general store and LOTS of choices for varieties of beers. The atmosphere has a cozy feel and well...it just felt good to be there. The beers were very impressive. We got 2 flights. Dave was misty impressed with the Hopollo 13 and the Scottish Ale. I loved the Peaches. They had a great selection of seasonals that were really interesting. Location looks a little run down, especially after being open for so long. There was also pretty limited seating (I can't imagine fitting more people in here than the 10 limit for COVID-19). There's outdoor seating that might be nice in the summer. No food, but they are across the street from Main Street Pizza. read more

Beertender was very nice, and I enjoyed the overall atmosphere. Only downside was that $15 for a flight, especially when my pours were low, is a bit pricey. Small brewery with a very cozy atmosphere. I live their large corner window which gives you a full view of the street. Their beers are delicious. Definitely try the Russian. Deep flavor and a great buzz. It's a great spot for people watching or sitting on the sidewalk area with friends for fresh air and a drink. They offer 4 glasses in their flights for about $9 which means you can get a lot for your buck. The staff was friendly and helpful when it came to choosing and explaining their beers and flavors. First time mom and HUGE beer lover here. I nearly got emotional seeing how child and baby friendly this place is! They've got TWO size high chairs - one that fits standard tables and one as tall as the high tops, so high chairs for whatever table your party sits at. They also have a baby changing station in the bathroom and board games for adults AND children to keep your little ones busy while you drink. These little things make a HUGE difference! Our beertender, Erin, is super friendly and didn't mind me being super annoying with all of my questions about the brewery or going on my excited rants. They also just started making sours and have two awesome sours available in their beer list (you don't always come across those), along with these awesome mugs and growler available for purchase. read more

Cool spot downtown Johnson City, but parking can be tough to find - especially for an out-of-towner. Small taproom with several brew options to choose from, and there's always the go-to flight option. Unique flight beer choice indicators used, you know, the old fashioned sticky note. We made the trek over from Bristol when the race was cancelled due to precipitation. It was a nice experience and cool to find hidden spots around JC. We only stayed for one round. But, noticed there were board games to play if your group wanted to chill out for a bit. Check it out some time. read more

Local small batch brewery that is truly special. I just love the feel of a place that is making a go of very small batch craft beer. The location is a little odd .. it is in a building on main street with several other businesses including Main Street Pizza. A little out of the way but worth finding your way to this experience. The quality of the beer is outstanding and you can get a flight to taste what all they have to offer which is nice. The place is very cozy but that is part of the charm .. on any given night you may find some local music being played or an art display. This all keeps with the local charm of JC Brewing. They do not serve food but you are welcome to buy and bring food from any of the many close by restaurants .. I typically get a slice for Main Street as it goes perfect with the beer. They have growlers so you can take home the experience with you. My only wish is the place was a little bigger but that makes for a cozy place to share some brews and get to know the locals. The brewer is around frequently so you can get to know about what is will be available and he answers questions about the brewing process which is really cool. Went here today for the Grand Opening and overall was very pleased with the quality and quantity of the beers available. I look forward to seeing this brewery grow and add to the comfort level of the patrons through tables,chairs and overall layout of the brewery itself. Great beer. Just simple great beer. I went on a night they were serving free pizza from a local pizza place. Smelled delicious but I had to go to dinner with a client. I messed up.
