I spoke with Martha over the phone, and she was able to set up an appointment with an internal medicine vet for less than a week later. The waiting area is large, and there's a small space for isolating cats (in carriers, of course). This was appreciated. Once in a room, a vet tech asked thorough questions and took notes. Then our cat was whisked away for an exam by Dr. Hoh, a veterinary internal medicine specialist. Our cat was returned to the room and Dr. Hoh came in to speak with us. Her many years of experience, combined with our observations, changed the course of treatment for our cat. For the time being, we will be taking a more conservative approach and reporting back to the internist in a few weeks. As it turned out, the person I initially spoke with over the phone checked us out when we left. Martha was just as friendly and helpful in person as she was over the phone. Places like this are not cheap to visit, but given we were not in an emergency situation and the fact that a specialist was involved it was not at all unreasonable. More importantly, we were greatly relieved and are cautiously optimistic about our cat's prognosis.

In this particular case, an adopted puppy who needed double hip replacement as a result of dysplasia. My vet was highly recommending a local orthopedic. Mean while poor dog is in dire pain. I am stressed out listening to my dog's pain. Nothing can prepare you for listening to your dog trying to tell you. Help me. Long story short, I didn't have a plan. The referral vet, who has the dog's X-rays & medical records for over a month, never returned my call. My vet didn't shed any info, just that they would get the orthopedic surgeon to call me. Which never happened! I called Dr.Madigan. Left voicemails in tears. Trust me I couldn't stop crying. Dr. Madigan returned my calls with helpful advice. Never in my life have a met a more compassionate vet. This vet does not know me or owe me anything. Yet the Dr. Madigan provided his time! God less you, Dr. Madigan!

They told me it was just bruising, said the biopsy was a minor procedure that couldn't have caused internal bleeding, and told me there was no need to bring her in. But my gut told me something wasn't right -- so I took her to the emergency vet. She was bleeding internally. If I had listened to DSAH and waited, my dog would have died that night. Please think twice before trusting this clinic. My experience was that they brushed off my concerns and didn't take my dog's condition seriously. Trust your instincts -- they can save your dog's life.

Dr Sam Seramur was his doctor and was very comforting and gave us plenty of time to be with him before and after the procedure. Brady never turned down food so when they brought in chicken, he gobbled it down and although it immediately came back up, he enjoyed that last meal. The tech who gently removed his body wrapped in blankets was so kind and it meant a lot when he said that he could tell we were good dog parents.
