The technician and vet both came outside to do their examination as kennel cough can be very contagious. He was taken in through a side door for X-rays. They were very careful with him. This is one of the nicest vets I have been to in all of Austin. I have lived all over this city and moved out to the Lakeway/Bee Caves area a little over a year ago. I was still driving all the way into the city to see my vet and decided I needed to find something local for both my cat and my dog. They were able to fit us in for a very last minute appointment when my dog had an ear infection. I was able to schedule an appointment for my cat within a week of calling. The rooms are large and comfortable for pets of all sizes. The prices for both an "emergency" and planned visit were SO reasonable and every tech and vet that I saw were so kind, they listened to my concerns and goals for long term healthcare for my pets. If you are looking for a vet in the Spicewood area and aren't sure where to go - this is by far the best one I have seen. read more

This clinic was recommended to us by our old vet after we moved to the area. They are very friendly and setting up appointments was a breeze. This past weekend I noticed our pup had swelling on his face and they were able to get us in that day. It turned out he had a dental abscess. Thankfully they got him taken care of that day. Dr. Kevin and Dr. Bennett are considered family to me at this point. I have a phenomenal working relationship with them and they have treated MANY of my animals for years now. I wouldn't take my beloved furbabies anywhere else. They have never steered me wrong, never overcharged, never done excessive testing or unnecessary treatments in any situation. I've had emergencies from C-sections in some of our breeding dogs to wound care and routine maintenance so on and so forth and they have been just phenomenal from day one. A friend recommended this office and we're so glad/ lucky they did. We've taken our girl there 2 times in the last 2 weeks for emergency visits. 1st visit, my dog ate a entire onion(toxic to dogs), 2nd visit, my dog was given the WRONG vaccination by another local corporate veterinary office (name unmentioned) that made her very sick. They got her in so fast, and did what needed to be done. The Drs and staff are top notch and the facility is beautiful. The fees were not crazy either as I was expecting for a emergency visit. Even though we're under contract with the other corporation, needless to say, we won't be going back there. I don't do reviews, but everything about Spicewood Vet is amazing, so I'm making an exception. Our pets have been seeing Dr Brady and Dr Kevin for 13+ years now, and they have seen our pets and fosters through some pretty serious medical issues, and even advised us on behavioral issues with our fosters. As veterinary professionals, they strike the perfect balance of solid, professional care and concern for both our pets and our family. I never have to worry that they won't be there for us, even after hours or in case of emergencies (which we've had our share of with our goofy accident/illness prone Boxers). Matter of fact, both Dr Brady and Dr Kevin have each saved the life of one or more of our dogs over the years. It's extremely rare that I can say a business has perfect customer relations throughout the organization, but I have yet had anything but positive, caring interactions with their amazing staff. It's crystal clear that this business has been built not just on outstanding veterinary care, but also on a love and appreciation for the patients and their people. Both my current dogs run for the car when I tell them we're going to see Dr Kevin. It's a crazy-busy place, because the word is out that they're great, but still we feel welcomed, cared for, never rushed, and fully informed when we visit - quite an impressive juggling act. I visited this clinic one time with my senior dog to get another opinion as to his condition. I arrived a few minutes late as I had a long drive & had to battle traffic to get there and had one the girls from the reception desk call me to find out if I was still keeping my appointment and missed my turn. I was told that I would have to pay a $30 work in fee so that the vet could see my dog. And then she was rude and hung up on me. Really? When seeing Dr. Kevin, he was all about making it a business as to what services he could sell me and he told me that it would be a $40 work in fee. I let him know that I was told it would be $30 and insisted that this is what I should be charged since this is what I was told initially ... but really it would have been much better for them to waive the fee as this was my 1st time visiting this vet clinic. However, there was no waiving of the fee and was charged the $30 I was initially quoted for a work in fee. I was definitely NOT impressed with this vet clinic. And I really don't care for vets making it a money-making business. I would not recommend this vet clinic at all! read more

SO glad we found Spicewood Vet Clinic! My dog got into a fight on a Saturday night (of course). Her injuries weren't too terrible, but still needed medical attention. My options were to take her to the ER vet, which is far away, has a long wait and costs a pretty penny. I found Dr. Bennett and saw he offered concierge services. He returned my call quickly, even though it was a weekend evening. He evaluated my pup over the phone and we set an appointment for the next morning. Dr. Bennett treated my dog quickly, kindly and thoroughly. He even brought out books for my toddler to read. He didn't try to do a bunch of unnecessary tests. We were in and out of there in less than 30 minutes, with medicine too. The after hours fee and the overall cost was extremely reasonable. Spicewood Vet Clinic saved me hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars, and hours in the ER waiting room. The concierge style practice is awesome for times like this. Highly recommend. read more

We ended up here by chance when our cat needed emergency surgery. This was the absolute best place for her to be! Every person at the clinic was kind, attentive, and transparent. Anytime we called to check on her, each person that answered the phone would say they just got back from checking in on her and showing her some love. They took care of her health, and made sure she was as comfortable as she could be while there for a stressful surgery! We have been clients of Spicewood Vet Clinic for 4 years. We have received the absolute best care for our Senior dogs. I was a bit leery when Dr. Bennett enlarged his practice with another vet. If there were ten stars I could give to Dr. Bennett, Dr. Mo, and the amazing staff at Spicewood Vet, I'd gladly do so. Dr. Bennett helped us with long term care plans for our senior cat, Stewart, who struggled with kidney issues. When the time came to say goodbye to our 18 year old Stewart, Dr. Bennett came to our home and was the perfect balance of professionalism and compassionate through the process of helping our kitty pass. He and his staff were so helpful to us a year later, when we adopted a young female cat who was found on the streets. A few months after his first overall evaluation of her, I got a good chuckle when our little girl showed clear signs of being in heat, and displayed every one of the behaviors Dr. Bennett had described during that first visit. She was well cared for when we took her in to him for her spay procedure and to be microchipped. With our beloved Australian Shepherd, Tucker, he again was thorough in helping us understand the Laryngeal paralysis condition and what our options were for treatment and care. Fast forward a year and it was clear that we had to make that ever so difficult choice to say goodbye to Tucker, after he sustained a back leg injury. Dr. Bennett returned my Sunday morning voicemail, within the hour it was made, to make ensure there was not a medical emergency that would necessitate him coming to the house. I appreciated his follow up! We ended up taking Tucker into the Spicewood Vet offices, where we met Dr. Mo for the first time. She showed the same professionalism and compassion to us that we'd experienced by Dr. Bennett when our cat was put to sleep. Their staff is amazing. They are so friendly and accommodating, both on the phone and when you step foot in their office. I'm so thankful we have such an awesome vet clinic to whom we can entrust our fur babies. read more

Dr. Kevin has been the vet to our two Westie for over 15 years. We lost Bob three years ago and unfortunately Dr Kevin was out having his first baby. The vet we had that made the decision to put Bob down was very cold and not compassionate at all and I firmly believe Dr Kevin would have made a different decision. That being said, he is an incredible vet and has always taken special care of both our boys but especially our remaining boy Dick. He made it so special on every visit and with his help Dick made it to 15 1/2 years. When he got a bad infection and it was obvious he wasn't going to make it.....Dr kevin was wonderful, so compassionate and what a difference in this passing. He cried with us and never left our side the entire time. We miss our fur baby but I can guarantee I will never use another vet when we finally get another pet. Putting a beloved pet down is never an easy thing to decide, but I thought it was time for my 14 lab, Chloe. So I called Spicewood Vet Clinic/Dr. Bennett on a Wednesday afternoon. That same day, in the evening, Dr. Bennett was able to come to my residence for an extensive consultation where he explained what might be going on with my doggie. He also took a great deal of time to try and understand what I'd been observing and to explain options. In the end, I decided euthanasia was best and Dr. Bennett supported that decision. I could not bear the thought of my pet's final moments spent in a stressful veterinary clinic, so the mobile service was ideal. The procedure was comfortable and compassionate and I thought his fee was reasonable. read more

We were faced with the decision to put our loving and beloved shihtzu down after 16 long wonderful years. We have a vet close to where we love bit he didn't come to your house for end of life treatment. Several people told me about Dr. Kevin and my friend who knew Dr. Kevin texted him and told him about us. He contacted me on the day after I canceled my initial appt with my vet. We talked for about 1/2 hour. From our discussion, he assured me that it was time. We scheduled it for the following day and came to our house over his lunch break. I will never forget this sweet gesture. He came to our house, saw Ziggy and again assured me that this was the right thing to do. It was a beautiful sunny day and we all went out back.
