Two couches sustained mold damaged while being in storage for almost 2 years, so we had to part with them. We left the couches inside our fenced-in yard. I heard something hit my car, but didn't immediately see what it was. A minute later, as I was passing the dumptruck, I saw a chip in my windshield. After I barely got past the truck, I had the thought to take a picture of the side of the truck so I could contact them to let them know what happened. I slowed down and got right beside the dumptruck. I took a picture of the side of the truck that had the phone number. When I did this, the driver put his hands in the air to gesture, "What are you doing?" I pointed at chip in my windshield and he shook his head angrily. He then slowed way down so I wasn't beside him again. He got off at the Hwy 1 exit and I couldn't see if he got back on Hwy 218 because he had slowed down so much. That made me think he knew he was guilty. I called the police because I didn't know what to do. They told me it was a civil issue, but most often the owner takes care of it for the person. Yesterday evening, I called the number on the side of the truck. I was so disappointed about the conversation. He denied it could have come out of the dump truck and said it was debris on the highway that flew up and hit my windshield. He said it happens all the time. I told him I drive for my job almost everyday and it hasn't ever happened to me before. He said he isn't responsible for it. I don't know the person, but I just know he wasn't willing to do the right thing in this situation. If he doesn't do the right thing in this situation, I wouldn't be comfortable using his services. You can make the call, but just wanted to warn you.

There is a fee for all garbage and most recycling. They don't take: yard waste, cardboard, electronics, appliances, medical waste, tires, oil and of course, batteries. Also a seasonal reminder: don't throw away holiday lights, recycle them! You can bring them here to be recycled at no cost from now until the New Year.

The storage fees were killing me, and I so wanted my photographs and albums. I knew some of the stuff I wouldn't want, but some I would want brought up to where I currently live at some point. I decided to start my consolidating the units and eliminating the larger unit. I called Eastern Iowa Jun Removal on a Monday and they were available that Friday that I was driving in. They did a fantastic job! We were able to clear out the larger unit, they made 3 trips to the dump for me, and we found my precious photographs and albums. They worked hard for 9 hours, and I was so impressed. In a couple of months we're going to go through the rest of the smaller unit, and weed out what to keep and what not to keep and they will haul it to my new place.
