When we were planning our kitchen renovation, I contacted several stone countertop companies. I had decided on using quartz for its durability and almost no maintenance was needed. Within minutes of sending my email, I received a reply from Johnson Stone Countertops, via Dar Khashi, thanking me for contacting them and asked me to give rough measurements of the areas that needed the countertops and the type of stone I preferred. Dar directed me to the Pental Quartz showroom in Fife so I can view and select from a wide variety of stones. Once I selected the stone, Dar submitted his quote and patiently adjusted and readjusted the quotes because we decided to add a "waterfall" at the end of one counter and later use the same quartz material for the backsplashes. Not only this, my first selection was not available in the countertop thickness but was available in the thickness for the backsplash so I had to choose another stone. Next, the backsplash was not available but countertops were. Dar was kind enough to provide me with various options in the price range I was looking at. When I could not find one that I absolutely liked, I asked him to give me a list of similar stones (I wanted white with gray veins similar to carrara marble) on the higher price range. We eventually selected Avenza by Pental Quartz. Scheduling of templating and installation was then handled by Anne Lavine, who was also very responsive to my emails and phone calls. Even the gentlemen who did the templates and installed our countertops and backsplashes were very pleasant and professional. (Sorry, I forgot their names and they should also be given credit for their professionalism!) Better yet, the entire process from ordering to completion of installation took about a month. Other companies (who replied to my query days/weeks after I sent it) told me it would be a minimum of 6 weeks after templating. Would highly recommend Johnson Stone Countertops anytime! And if we should need some countertops in the future, I will not hesitate to contact them again. read more

I have used Johnson Stone for a few different remodel projects in my home over the last couple years. ALWAYS prompt and courteous. Never had a issue whether my job was big or small. I highly recommend them to everyone! Working with Anne for scheduling etc. is always a delight. And Todd always templates / installs and the finished product is honestly perfect!! We were almost ready to sign a contract with a local company in Lacey, that had excellent reviews. Their final bid seemed a bit high so back to Yelp. We found Johnson Stone and contacted them. As others have pointed out, the office staff is great. Our initial emails were with Dar and he made a great first impression. We provided rough dimensions and gave them the product name on hold at Pental and we had a quote shortly. Their pricing was much better. Scheduling the template was the hardest part, with vacations and other projects. After the templates were done, it was approx. 2 weeks to the install. John and his crew of one did a great job. There was a seam in the piece with the sink due to it's length. The seam was placed in the middle of the sink, where it is the smallest. The back seam is most covered by the faucet and front seam is done well, as the granite does not have a repeating pattern. We went with a Blanco composite sink which was deeper and much heavier than the old stainless steel one. Due to the weight of the sink, John built supports into the cabinet to support the sink, rather than rely completely on mounting clips. The only flaw was when he drilled the kitchen faucet and soap holes, he didn't cut out the wood that was below. This wasn't noticed until the next day when putting the plumbing back in. Rather than wait for them to come back, we resolved it ourselves. There was some dust and debris from the cabinet prep for the sink too. Overall a great experience and I would recommend them. read more

Let me start by saying I won't call out the sales person I worked with because it serves no purpose except to say that they represent the companies attitude. I called last week to see if I could locate a remnant piece of quartz that my son and his wife could use, in their first home, in an very small upstairs bath. In the process I thought I would have her bid out the master with a product that they had previously picked out and had bids for just to see if they would be comporable, it's always nice to be able to work with one company for templating and installation. She was extremely prompt and very kind at the get go. Helpful, making suggestions on options etc. Once the bids came in and I saw the price for their master I realized that this was very different than their other bid and decided to move forward with just the small remnant piece for the guest bath. That is when the ENTIRE attitude changed, no response to email, voice mail etc. Finally I called again and they said she was there, I was put on hold and then told she was helping someone else but they could answer my questions. Major brush off once she realized she wasn't getting the whole job. So I signed the contract, sent in the deposit (Thursday of last week) but here it is Wednesday and I still hadn't heard about scheduling the template ( I was told 3-5 days once the contract was received ) . I called, only to be told, October 17th was the first available and that means we are looking at the end of October before installation. What can I say except okay and they put me on the calendar. I decided to look around for another fabricator that was more into my job and I found one. This whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth because of their bait and switch attitude. I have done many, many construction projects in the past and it is nice to try new places but I will NEVER use these folks or recommend them to anyone. To treat me like my "small" job was not important robbed them of the opportunity for referrals and to possibly bid our new home. read more

Worst experience and still with $7400 dollars worth of cracked granite. Customer service is the worst and should have originally went with my gut and gone somewhere else! I've gone almost a year now of constant back and forth and was told today that i should hire a contractor to "fix" the problem and gave me a number of another company for any future issues with maintenance? I tried calling right after that email and rec'd a holiday out of office! I've filed a complaint with the BBB and emailed the owner. I am beyond upset as i rely on them to be the experts but now i'm stuck with something that will not last and bust in half based on something they did!! Buyer beware!!! read more
