    Stop-A-Crack Windshield Repair & Replacement

UPDATE (March 28, 2026): UPDATE: After a couple of weeks, my old windshield made it clear it no…read morelonger wanted to be a part of my car. I had a couple of new, unconnected cracks appear. This appears to coincide with chatter online about manufacturing defects in some Hyundai Tucson windshields. I made the decision to just replace the windshield, since a previous price quote from Stop-a-Crack was very reasonable. I showed up at Stop-a-Crack first thing Saturday morning, with no appointment, and they were able to replace the windshield the same day! Once again, I was greeted by the extremely friendly, furry, and attention-seeking auto technician, Chip, who disguises himself as a chocolate lab. I left my car in their capable hands and within a few hours, I had a beautiful, brand-new windshield. The workmanship was perfect. My friend recently had a windshield replaced, and the work was sloppy. Not the case with my new windshield. It honestly looks cleaner than the original windshield. Well worth the money! March 7, 2026: Allow me to be the umpteenth person to leave a well-deserved 5-star review for Stop-A-Crack Windshield Crack Repair and Replacement. As a first-time customer of this shop, I can see why it gets so many fantastic reviews. First off, I was greeted at the door by the bestest boy - the shop owner's chocolate lab. He put me right to work giving him pets and scritches and playing some tug of war. The owner, Chris Grubb, quickly assessed my windshield crack, which was probably a little more than 12" long. I was convinced it would require a full windshield replacement, but they were able to do a repair for $75. Their cost for windshield replacement would have been around $600, which is a lot less than competitors; however, a repair got me back on the road. I was in and out within 30 minutes, and the repair looks great! It's slightly visible, which Chris let me know up-front that it would be, but it is barely noticeable. Since I'm sure I'm destined for another crack in the future, this gets me by until a full replacement is absolutely necessary. The technician that did the work was very friendly, pulling my car up to the door and giving me a quick run-down of the work. The owner even included a small patch with the receipt that I can slap on any new chips or cracks, to keep moisture out until it's repaired. This is a safe shop for everyone. I noticed quickly that they had a colorful sign in the window saying all are welcome. Everyone here, from the owner, to the technician, to the dog, were fantastic! Only the dog requires scritches, though. Don't pet the owner. lol. I will definitely be a repeat customer, should the situation arise.

Awesome little shop. Found a chip/crack in the windshield of one of our vehicles. Brought it in,…read moregot a quick quote and they pulled it in and fixed it. Super competitive prices. Half of what I was quoted at another place. Shop is super clean. Staff is super helpful. And they have a shop dog, which is a plus in my book.

Safelite has won my business…read more Things I learned about auto glass this week: 1) Insurance often pays to replace small cracks without you paying towards your deductible. When a rock from a construction truck cruises at you and pings a beautiful little starburst in your windshield, call your insurance and make an auto glass claim. So long as the windshield doesn't have to be replaced, it's often part of your insurance coverage. 2) The size of the crack matters. If it is smaller than a quarter, most auto glass businesses can easily fill it. If it's larger than a quarter, most businesses won't touch it because they can't fill it satisfactorily. If not a starburst, length matters. A single crack can be filled as long as it isn't longer than a dollar bill. 3) Time, temperature, and weather matter. The glass can't be filled if it's gotten wet, so cover it with Scotch tape (yup). Time gives an opportunity for the crack to grow. Extreme temps most certainly result in the crack spreading. 4) Sometimes the crack has to be reestablished (i.e., rebroken) for the techs to fill it. This is the short, edifying version of my sad tale that ended rather happily at Safelite. I started with a perfectly small starburst, but after the company my insurance initially connected me with waited for more than a day to fix it in this Oklahoma heat, the starburst grew and became unrepairable. When I finally got myself together after two more local experiences, I had lost hope that anyone could help me, but I yelped my way to Safelite for one last try. Safelite isn't covered by my insurance, but I'm going to call and ask that they be based on my experience with them. I had an appointment, which was respected. One star. * The waiting room was clean and comfortable, with free wi-fi, a tv we were told we were welcome to change, and fresh coffee. Two stars.** The employee treated me with courtesy, listened to my story, and answered my concerns. Three stars. *** Safelite explained the process and the problem to me, helping me with realistic expectations before and during the process. Four stars.**** Safelite ultimately could not repair the crack to their liking after working on it for at least 45 minutes. They filled it resin and think that will stop it from spreading, but the crack is still pretty visible. Safelite thus decided not to charge me. Five stars. ***** I usually shop local businesses, but none of the other three I encountered this week delivered the level of customer service that Safelite did. The next time I have a windshield issue, Safelite will be my go-to.

I set an onsite (my residence) appointment for windshield replacement. The whole time I have been…read morereceiving appointment confirmations mentioning how the technician will be recalibrating the windshield sensors at my home. I had an appointment from 8am - noon, but they waited until that morning to let me know that my 10 yr old Honda has to be brought in because they lack the ability to do it outside the shop. If they haven't figured out how to work on modern vehicles much less a 10 year old vehicle, just find a place with professional capabilities to actually work on average vehicles onsite or just take it to the nearest random glass shop. You'll be in same situation but closer to home since there are only two metro locations. The whole point of even considering this company is that they come to you. Maybe if you drive a go cart as I'm sure a golf cart would be too complicated for them to work on in your driveway.
