A few days later my daughter returned to Maine when she experienced a problem on her way home. I called Gauthiers and explained the car wasn't safe to travel with and asked what was my best course of action. They asked for my address and sent a tow truck to my house three hours away the next morning. I was shocked to say the least knowing how customer service in America has degraded over the years. The garage had experienced a problem with their alignment machine which they weren't aware of at the time. They ended up fixing the issue, replacing two tires and bringing the vehicle back to us . This is the only review I have ever posted and felt the need to let the people know that great people and great customer service is alive and well at Gauthier's garage! The woman that works there was nasty with my father, saying that it can be billed to my insurance instead (at this point we didn't even know what type of coverage I had for uninsured motorist) when my father explained that and asked how much we owed she couldn't even give him a price because she had been billing as if it was insurance paying- I guess they have different prices for that? Continuously she was trying to get my dad to not pick it up, saying they weren't around at that time and they have to be there (fine, but let us schedule a pick up? And you shouldn't be charging me a fee if you're not going to let me pick it up?) Finally gives us a number, but won't let my parents get it without my consent (understandable, it was in my name but I was bedridden and really didn't want to have to be calling around dealing with this while injured- but not a huge deal) I call her up to tell her to release my vehicle and she's talking badly to me about my father "he didnt invent the wheel yknow!!" No he didn't but he's trying to help his daughter who just got ran over, and you're giving him all the kickback you can possibly give. Literally insane to me that's she was even saying anything negative about him to me. Definitely would never choose to work with them again, which is a shame it seems from the reviews that Mike is great, but the woman clearly is the reasoning for a lot of these negative reviews.

When I got a flat tire a few years ago, they put the donut tire on for me and because I had to get a new tire put on that day and they couldn't replace it that day because they had to order the tire, and therefore I had to drive to the bigger tire place in Nashua, they didn't even charge me. Recently, (thanks to NH's potholes,) I got another flat tire, and after the technicains assessed all 4 tires, Greg gave me honest advice about how the tire that went flat needed to be replaced because the hole is in the side, and also one of the others should be replaced because it has a big divet (sp?) on the sidewall so a bad enough dip into a pothole could easily cause it to go flat as well. He also let me know the other two tires have divets as well, but rather than telling me they for sure need to be replaced, he was honest and let me know that the pothole damage to those was more than superficial, but not alarming, so it's up to me if I wanted to get them replaced. That's the kind of service you get here: they are well aware that car repairs and tires are expensive as it is and a big expense for most people, so they don't try to squeeze as much money out of you as they can, they let you know the facts and they only push you to get work done when and if not getting the work done is going to be putting you in danger of getting stranded with a flat, breaking down, etc. Overall: very friendly, very helpful, they're looking to give you good service rather than charging you as much as they can, absolutely no notes
