It is a large dog park with plenty of space for your furry friend to run around. They have the double gates and even have a lost and found box which I thought was super cute. It's a clean park and has a couple of seating areas. The park is just one large enclosed area so there isn't a separate area for smaller dogs, but all the times that I've been there, all the dogs have gotten along just fine and the owners all seem to be nice and responsible. Initially, the dog park can be hard to find since it is tucked away in Haines park. It is behind 2 baseball fields and the parking lot for it is down a dirt road. It is a great place for your dog to go and socialize or to run around to his heart's content !

It is a nice park with lots of shade from large trees and a paved walking trail. There are some dusty areas from high traffic, but this park, unlike Dexter or Gano, is large enough that it still supports a lot of grass. The park is well appointed with trash cans, benches, and communal water bowls. There are two gates: one on Ridge St, and one at the end of Bell St. However, neither latches, so watch out if you have a tiny dog or a dog that likes to push open doors! There is a lot more parking on Ridge St. The park has a strict closing time of 9pm, and there are no lights - throughout the park are scattered remnants of old light posts with capped off wires. Probably best to keep your dogs or kids from playing with them.

Lets start with the park itself. If you're looking for it via your GPS it's smarter to do Pond Street North in Seekonk, as the park is right on the line. Once you get close you'll start to see signs for the dog park. It's right across the street from the Animal Shelter which (if you read the story below) is a good thing. The park has a large dog side and a small dog side. My dog is just over 30lbs and loves to play with big dogs, so we are often found on that side. Most time, the small dog side not occupied. There are water bowls and free water, as well as poop bags and trash bins. There are also a few benches, which on hot days, the dogs will dig under and lay. The land itself has grassy spots and also bark mulch/sticks in some areas, which turn into chew toys for some. All in all, it is a very nice dog park. STORY TIME! Last Saturday, I had been at the park for about an hour and a half. My dog, Lincoln, had been playing with a variety of different dogs big and small. They had been slowing down when a couple with their bulldogs (Brazilian Bulldog and Blue Southern something or other) enter the park. All seemed well for the start. Their dogs didn't seem very interested in running around or playing, which could have been the weather. In an attempt to stay relatively close to Lincoln, I switched benches and over heard a conversation about the woman's bulldogs get "attacked" by a husky/malamute mix that was a regular there. She stated that she thought this dog had to be a wolf hybrid mix and how she Googled it and blah blah blah. If it is the dog I know of, I find this highly unlikely, since this dog plays great with my small dog. No sooner am I thinking this, that one of her bulldogs LUNGES at Lincoln. He begins yelping at the top of his lungs and running, tail between his legs. It started quite a commotion with all owners running after their dogs and trying to break it up. The woman threw water at them and then literally laid her body down on top of the dog to get it to stop. I promptly got my very shaken up dog and see a woman from the Animal Shelter running over to make sure all was okay. We checked Lincoln over for blood and she made a wild guess as to which dog it was, yes, the bulldogs! She said they had been in a few other altercations and unfortunately they don't have a "three strikes and you're out rule" or else they would be gone. Moral of the story, if you see this blonde woman with her two bulldogs... steer clear! I will not stop coming here, but I will absolutely leave if I see her, or at least switch sides. To seal the deal she remained quiet as a mouse as I left. No apology, no acknowledgement, no nothing. Pretty unfortunate.

Also across the street is Dune Bros, so when you visit Rose Larisa, you can get some clam cakes & chowder and go eat in the park with a water view. I especially like the wooden staircases that take you down to the water. Although the beach is not very wide, it is long enough for a walk and leashed dogs are allowed on the beach as well. Rose Larisa is a great place to watch the sunset, and there is plenty of free parking. This park also is home to the annual RI Folk Festival and the city of East Providence also presents summer concerts here so go check out some local live music! I absolutely love this waterfront park.

Last nights show was great!

I have been walking this park for over 20 years and have watched it grow from a slightly sketchy…read morewild patch of woods to a well maintained beautiful place with easy to walking trails that make you feel you are far from the city (well a little far). The park is split by a road that goes between the River Road and Butler Ave (Irving Ave can get you there heading towards the river). It is set off and not easy to find if you don't know about it. One half has wide easy to walk on paths that loop and can give some sense of being bigger than it's foot print. The other half is more challenging due to it still wild nature, the trails are footpaths that can be difficult due to rocks slopes and leaf litter, but still a great easy way to get some steps in with a little added cardio. You have to cross Irving Ave to enter the other side. Speaking of Cardio, there are dirt and log "steps" that bring you down to the water. Dogs are welcome but should be on a leash this is NOT A DOG PARK. I say this because I have had unleashed dogs lunge for me only to be reprimanded by said dogs ignorant owner for complaining in the dog park, sheesh. Please go, bring you doggie poo bags in and bring them back out! The park usually has bags at the sign as you enter the trails.

A beautiful and historic park with views of downtown Providence. It is located right on a hill and has the statue and tomb of Roger Williams with his hand out. There were benches and a small path throughout. A great place to picnic, watch the sunset, and just relax. The Rhode Island State House and Providence Place Mall can be seen from there. There is no parking lot just street parking. The houses nearby are historic. This was a frequent stop for author HP Lovecraft. No wonder it is called "The Jewel of the City".

The park holds a lot of sentimental value for the city because it houses the Roger Williams statue and tomb. Personally, I appreciate how well maintained the park is and how peaceful it is. On warmer days, it can get a little busy, but it's a great place to relax. When I'm need of a little reprieve I like to bring my blanket and meditate on the grass. I also appreciate its location being so close to Brown and downtown Providence simultaneously. It's convenient and peaceful.

I requested a 4 day boarding for my dog, got an email the request was denied. I called spoke with…read moreone of the girls to ask why was it denied (if there were some requirements missing or any documents they needed from me?), she kind of continued to make excuses and was being weird about it. Stated it was denied because my dog needs an evaluation first (fair, but wouldn't you want to reach out to me to let me know that or see what day he can come in to be evaluated?), I told her that's okay I have some days I can bring him in before boarding, she goes on to say they have availability for an evaluation Tuesday of that week, but makes another excuse that they might not have time? so weird? Then goes on to say I will have to pay extra $15/day for boarding since my dog isn't neutered which is fine I would pay the extra I have no choice. I just felt like excuses were just being made up at this point and the way things were being communicated was awkward and weird. Will try another place.
