Finally tried JoJo's after walking by it a million times, and it was better than I expected. The brisket nachos were the standout, fresh, barbecue-y brisket, great portion size, and worth the price. The buffalo chicken wrap was just okay, nothing special, but the waffle fries on the side were solid. Overall, JoJo's is a good spot for quick, easy, affordable American comfort food, and I'd come back to try more of the food on the menu.

Very fun Christmas themed bar. I loved all the decorations. The drink menu is also very fun. I tried the hot chocolate flight. The flight consists of four small cups each with a huge roasted marshmallow. It's a fun experience. I saw our waiter come out with some very creative drinks and he was very fast and efficient with many people at the tables. They do have food although I did not have any but saw some plates come out that looked good. This place is definitely kid friendly!

Even though there were a few people working and not many tables full, the service was terrible. I had to go up twice to get them to take our order and give me the bill. They didn't bring all the food, did get reminded to remove it from the bill and still charged for what was not brought. Generally the milkshakes were not worth the pain in the ass that the service was.

Super great place if your going for the Fun aspect of a restaurant. They had great music, amazing decorations, very fun shakes and cocoa! I will say the cocoa flight wasn't the best hot chocolate there was, but it was still cute.

We loved the Christmas decorations and I was craving an alcohol milkshake. The shake was delicious and adorable but it was soooo sweet. I wish it would have been just a little more shake. Still it was a fun experience!

Jojo's is overpriced and the food quality is mid, but it's still a really fun spot to go especially around the holidays. The shakes are so elaborate and a must try. They have an adorable pumpkin patch for Halloween right now, as well as affordable pumpkin painting. It's also super fun around the holidays. Worth it just to see all of the themed over the top decor.

I was excited to try this place as it one of those very hyped up must-visit spots in the city. When I got there, they were very nice enough to accommodate me booking the wrong table to be able to sit in the Winter Wonderland patio, which I very much appreciated. They were great about that. However, everything else was very much okay. My friend really liked her Elote Salad and the loaded fries were good too. I had the burger and tried the hot chocolate flight. The hot chocolate flight was a neat idea, but definitely not worth the $18 price tag. Overall, the food was good, definitely not a bad meal but I have had better meals for $50. The service was okay, too. Our food was taken to the wrong table twice even though the orders match the table numbers. We were offered water, waited 30 minutes, then had to ask for them again. As for the Winter Wonderland, I can't say it was much of anything, honestly. Cute theme and ambiance for the season, but the only real places to take photos are the christmas tree and the truck. Overall, this place felt like an overhyped instagram trend, and I probably wouldn't go back unless someone else was paying.

Reviewing the Holiday Pop-up specifically, but the menu items are the same as usual. We visited jojo's not because of the food, but because the holiday experience they set up in what's usually their parking lot is very well done! Big tree, lots of decor and photo-op opportunities, and holiday music playing. We got the JoJo's Fries and the Spinach Artichoke Dip to share. Bro were fine, exactly what you'd expect from bar food essentially. Nothing notably good or bad about either. My friend liked the walking taco and ate the whole thing, so I'd say that was a win! I got the classic hot chocolate and loved the marshmallow on top. Good hot chocolate and not too bad of a price at $6. My friend got the salted caramel one and loved it as well, and was a fan of the accompaniments it came with, like the pretzels and the cake pop! The Crazy, Sexy, Cool cocktail was decently strong and VERY sweet but...It's JoJos so that's expected! My friend loved it. Service was great. Friendly waitstaff that seemed to be in high spirits and having a good time with eachother as well. I love JoJo's experiences they host in the lot next door to them, like Camp JoJo in the summer, so I'll be back again soon!

We came here for a Christmas pop up and it was cute. We made ornaments while we ate and had our shakes. The shakes are child/non-drinking friendly unless you add alcohol (which I did). I added baileys to my shake and it was very good. Our server was good. Nachos were okay. More cheese is needed. Brisket is quite sweet. Negative: when we walked in, no one greeted or seated us. It was a bit upsetting and is an area where they need to improve.

We came by for the JoJo's Pumpkin Patch experience! It was $35 ($45 after tax and required tip) and included a milkshake, entree, and pumpkin to paint! The outdoor pumpkin patch is very cute with lots of fun photo ops! There is a lot of different sizes and colors of pumpkins that you can choose from. They then bring out a selection of paints and brushes. It was a lot of fun! For food, all of our entrees were just okay. I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup which was cold when it was brought out. The shakes make up for it though. They are so fun and delicious!! I tried the pumpkin patch shake and it had a whole slice of pumpkin pie and a whole caramel apple. Also to note, you do not need to buy the experience tickets. You can just go and sit outside and order a cocktail or shake!

Wow I was really excited to try this milkshake bar because who doesn't love a good milkshake! I will say we went during the day in the middle of the week and they were not busy so we were served immediately and he took special care to make sure our milkshake was just right. I will say this was one of the best milkshakes as we got the basic caramel with both Oreo and heath toffee bar mix ins. I loved the look of their bar area as well. Also if you sign up for their rewards on toast you will gain points and get a $10 reward for your birthday.

My family and I stopped by this dessert spot in Chicago looking for something sweet to end the night before heading home. The place is very small inside--more of a grab-and-go or quick stop than a hangout spot. There's a small parking lot next to the building, but it costs $10 to park, which you can use as a voucher inside. Still, the parking attendant was rude, which wasn't the best way to start the visit. The host inside was nice and seated us quickly, but once we looked at the menu, we were a bit surprised by how expensive everything was for what you get. My mom ordered a strawberry ice pop, and I got the blueberry lavender shaken espresso. Unfortunately, both were overly sweet to the point that the actual flavors were drowned out. We had high hopes, but neither of us enjoyed our orders. It felt like more sugar than substance. I personally don't see us returning anytime soon and make's it hard to recommend it to anyone.

What a cool place! Decked out like a nostalgic arcade with the sweetest murals. We only ordered the shakes but the food that was coming out of the kitchen looked delicious! The music was great, the staff was fun and the shakes were SO good and super cute! Will definitely return!

Ask the Community - JoJo’s Shake Bar - River North

My 6 year old wants to go back there to celebrate his birthday. What do y'all think?

It's a good spot because it has something in terms of food and sweets for kids and adults alike, however if you have an issue w/ your kid being around liquor , I would look for other venues.

    Reviews on the pot pie?

I am sorry I did not order it but while waiting in the line, I saw a lot of people ordering it.

    Is this business kid friendly?

I have only been there in the evening and they were playing some music with explicit lyrics. I'd recommend getting the dessert to go and bringing it outside for your kids.

Are there any Gluten Free Options looks Amazzzzing?

there were no options - they were out of the only option they had they the day we were there.

Hi guys I'm be 19 years old this week they won't mind if I go or do you have to be 21?

From what I can tell, they would allow you in to eat as long as you're not sitting at the bar.

Are they pricey and how's the food? Ever time I go out I order boneless wings lol but someone on Facebook posted this business and it went viral and I wanted to know do they serve boneless wings?

They are not expensive but a little bit more than what you would expect to pay for what is on the menu. The food was just “ok” and the milkshakes were a little soupy. I’m not sure if it was because they were very busy but but the food and service… Read more

Unfortunately Machine was not open, which is downstairs from this place, so we went here. Usually there is a bouncer outside, covering both places, but no one was at the door so me and The Queen walked upstairs. The bouncer was upstairs and saw us come in, so he asked for ID. He explained that everyone gets card before they come in, which is not a issue for me. The overall vibe, for me, was definitely a frat hangout vibe. There are arcade games all over the place and cutesy names for beers and cocktails, like the Froot Loops (vodka, coriander honey, oat milk, shochu, saline, milk carton, and froot loops). Man I do not do cocktails and this is the reason why. There is too much going on in that glass for me to deal with. Prices for cocktails range from $14-$15. BFF #1 got a vodka soda for $13, but looking at the size of the glass, it was on the small side. BFF #1 said it was on the weak side. I was happy to hear that there was prosecco, so I got that. The Doctor showed up and got a beer. The selection of beers was limited from what I could see on the wall, maybe there was a list someone else behind the bar. The bartender was a really sweet, she was all smiles and kept calling me baby, which was so funny to me. I tipped her well because she was great on them pours of prosecco. We did not do food as we were heading to Club Lago for dinner and I didn't realize that they had food until I checked into Yelp and saw the online menu. The Queen actually went to a DJ set here with Roosevelt, I believe, and said it was a good event. Not a place I would normally hang out in, but I can see the appeal for folks in their 20s as I would definitely say outside of The Queen, the three of us were the oldest folks in there. Lots of people taking Instagram photos and posing or making short videos with those ring lights. I imagine it can get super loud when it is busy, but that is a vibe for some folks. I would say if that is your thing, this is the place for you.

We ordered a flight of whiskey sours, which contained whiskeys from Japan, Vietnam, and Wisconsin. I also was able to order an amaretto sour, which they made with freshly hand beaten egg whites, which was a nice cherry on the top. As far as the whiskey flights go, I think the best one was the Vietnam flight because it had a slightly lemongrass twang and was a little bit lighter than the other two. The heaviest one was the Wisconsin which came with a little bit of a bite at the end, but it still wasn't bad if you're trying to blackout on a $15 budget. I would definitely come back with a larger group this seems like a great place, but is a little bit loud- so if you be prepared to yell or wear earplugs. The bathroom took my a second to find, which should have been intuitive considering it was on the opposite end of where you come in. For dinner, two of us split a bunch of different plates like the roasted asparagus, salmon poke, shrimp salad, and kohlrabi salad. Each dish they brought out was more incredible than the last, and those four dishes were plenty of food. We left perfectly full but the food was so fresh and light, we didn't feel too weighed down. From the list, I honestly can't even say what my favorites were, but our server recommended all of them so we have him to thank. The salmon poke was delicious and so fresh and honestly such a solid choice. If you only get one thing (don't. get like 2 plates per person prob) that is the one. Only thing to note is that the patio is on a kind of busy street and if you go on a weekend night it can get crazy loud when those weird quad bikes drive past blasting music at an absurd volume. Go here, you will love it. Get all of the amazing food and at least one cocktail bc they are delicious.

Dropped into Yardbird in Chicago for their happy hour, and it proved to be a great choice. The…read moreatmosphere was lively, but what really elevated the night was the exceptional service. Our server, Miguel, was phenomenal. She was attentive, fast, and gave us some spot-on recommendations. Per her advice, we ordered the deviled eggs with jalapeño, hands down the highlight of the table. The deviled eggs with paired with that subtle jalapeño kick was absolutely perfect. For the mains, the chicken and waffles were good, carrying that solid comfort food flavor you expect. The waffles were a bit soft for my taste. To drink, the sidecar was mixed perfectly, well-balanced, crisp, and hit the exact right note. Giving it 4 stars only because while the mains were good, the starters and the outstanding service from Miguel were what truly stole the show. I'll definitely be back to hang out at the bar again nest time I am in town!

Huge disappointment compared to the Miami location. We came here for lunch and while the deviled…read moreeggs and skillet cornbread appetizers were great, the mains and service were a disaster. We both ordered the 1/2 fried chicken (he ordered the chicken and waffles and I ordered the Llewellyn fried chicken), specifically requesting all dark meat. Round 1: The chicken arrived as all white meat. We sent it back. Round 2: My boyfriend's plate was corrected, but mine came out with two thighs and two wings. Ready to eat at this point, I just sent the wings back. Round 3: They finally brought out the correct drumsticks. The excuse given by our waiter was that someone in the kitchen couldn't read English, causing a language barrier. I'll leave it to others to decide how they feel about that as an excuse. But what I will say is that a language barrier in the kitchen is a management problem, not a customer problem, and it should never result in a guest sending their plate back twice. While mistakes happen, the food itself was a letdown once we finally ate. My boyfriend's cheddar waffle was completely uncooked and raw in the center, and both the waffle and his fried chicken thighs had a strange, off-taste to them. What really ruined the experience, though, was the lack of management. The manager was actively walking around the dining room the entire time but never once stopped by our table to apologize for the multiple mix-ups or the raw food. For the price point, the service and quality control here need serious work. I'll stick to the Miami location.
