    HS Nutella French Toast
    Iris P.

Brunch at The Hampton Social is truly a whole experience We started on a sweet note with the Nutella French toast--thick, golden, and perfectly fluffy, topped with melted chocolate, powdered sugar, and sliced almonds that added the perfect crunch. It was rich, indulgent, and honestly hard to stop eating. Then came the açaí bowl, and it was just as stunning as it was refreshing. Packed with fresh fruit, crunchy granola, coconut flakes, and finished with a generous chocolate drizzle, it was the perfect balance to everything else--light, vibrant, and so satisfying. For something savory, the steak and eggs were cooked perfectly, topped with a fresh, herby chimichurri that added so much flavor. Paired with fluffy eggs and crispy roasted potatoes, it was the kind of plate that hits every craving. And of course, a creamy latte on the side to tie it all together The ambiance is just as good as the food--warm lighting, beautiful decor, and that lively brunch energy that makes you want to stay all morning. Service was fast, friendly, and everything came out perfectly timed. This is one of those brunch spots where you truly get the full experience--sweet, savory, fresh, and a vibe you don't want to leave. 10/10 brunch moment

Went here for dinner to celebrate my birthday with one of my girlfriends as I hadn't been here in a long time and I also received a coupon in my email for a free bottle of rose with purchase of entree. I thought that was really nice! I believe the manager working that night was name Meddi, he was amazing! He helped us get our order in and even brought us 2 free shots of frose which was basically frozen rose slushee. My friend ordered the Manhattan style lobster roll that she said was excellent. I ordered the truffle lobster melt and bisque. It was very tasty but I did not taste any truffle flavor in it, it just tasted like a lobster grilled cheese to me but was still very good! She ordered the Carmel lava cake for dessert it was sweet and tasty. The atmosphere was nice we showed up after 6 and there was live music a gentleman playing guitar that was finishing up so if you went there earlier in the evening you would be serenaded. The server was friendly and attentive. My friend and I really enjoyed our dinner experience. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 since I couldn't taste any truffle on the lobster truffle melt but other than that everything was great!

Had a reservation which was surprising seeing that it was St Pattys Weekend. Came in mostly for a light lunch. I ordered a the Carolina Tangy BBQ wings. They were grilled perfectly and came with a side of white sauce I'm not sure what it was but complemented the dish well. Make sure to have a reservation seeing that this place fills up fast! I was only turned off when the check came. You could pay online via the QR code but they don't tell you that they add tip on top of the automatic gratuity as well as a service charge. I asked for the check instead. These things should be told to customers prior to paying.

I came in for a lil solo lunch during the work day during Chicago restaurant week! It was $30 for three courses, which was a pretty good deal when itemizing everything I got. The service was great, and I appreciated that they put the solo diners in one area that was a little quieter. Service was great and super attentive, anticipated all of my needs before I asked. My total dining time was about an hour, which wasn't bad for lunch service and three courses. Made it back to my desk right on time. The dynamite shrimp was pretty good, super crispy which was perfect but it could've been tossed a little more evenly in the sauce. Still good! Their chicken sandwich is one of my favorites, I love the slaw. I would've preferred fries to chips though. The caramel lava cake was perfect but my ice cream was melting and pooling by the time they got it out to me. Not a super big deal, still just as delicious. The only other con was that there were menus and misc table things (qr code stand, decor) that had been moved to the booth at some point and all of that was still scattered around the booth area. Again not a big deal but a small detail! Overall really enjoyed it and thought it was a good work lunch and great restaurant week deal value!

Came here for happy hour and thought they had great deals! There's a lot of seating, and the space feels open and comfortable, perfect for relaxing after work. Happy hour deals are solid: $9 cocktails and apps and $1.50 oysters. We ordered a down of oysters and the guac, and I got the spicy skinny margarita. The oysters were decent for the price with no weird taste. The guac was good too and came with plenty of chips. My spicy skinny margarita was really good and definitely did not taste watered down. The spiced rim was great. Service was also a highlight. Our waiter was attentive and kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Overall, everything tasted good and the vibe plus pricing make this a great happy hour spot. Would definitely come back!

We came here for a birthday celebration and most things we ordered were pretty good! It's surprisingly not busy on a Sunday night. And they have live music. Drinks we ordered were refreshing. Appetizers we got, Shrimp and crab bruschetta, buffalo wings, and calamari were all good. My favorite entree was probably the lobster roll. Lobster roll in Chicago is never cheap, but they did load the roll with lots of lobsters. Prime Rib sandwich was also good. Fish & Chips was interesting. The batter on the fish fillet was close to the batter you usually got on the calamari. Batter was really crispy, not greedy, and the fish was tender. Wagyu beef burger was disappointing though. To be honest, it's pretty similar to a MCD burger... Overall, i like the ambiance and the food. Will go back and try other things.

The overall ambiance immediately stood out -- bright, airy, coastal vibes with the perfect mix of chic and relaxed. It felt like the ideal setting for a weekend brunch in the city. Before even arriving, I already had my eye on the crab and avocado appetizer, and it did not disappoint. It was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I also ordered the chicken and waffles (not pictured because I ate it too fast ). The flavors were on point. My first waffle came out slightly burnt, but the service was wonderful. I requested another one, and they replaced it at no charge without hesitation. That level of attentiveness definitely elevated the experience. There was also a gentleman playing guitar, and the live music added such a beautiful touch to the atmosphere. It complemented the brunch energy perfectly without being overwhelming. While I know they offer a dinner option, I personally see this as more of a brunch/lunch spot and would likely stick to that timeframe for future visits. Overall, I was completely satisfied -- great food, great service, and an ambiance that makes you want to linger a little longer. Definitely a solid Chicago Restaurant Week pick!

Chicago never disappoints on the food scene! I treated myself to a little snacky snack before dinner and here I am. You can't go wrong with chicken and the first thing I saw was the Bang Bang Chicken. WOW. So good! Hot, flavorful, and I honestly wanted to lick the bowl and take the sauce to go. It must be a fan favorite because I saw it come out quite a few times while I was sitting at the bar after my order arrived. Washed it down with a Tito's and cranberry, paid, and left happy. Cute and I do mean cute place with great music. Highly recommend. Enjoy!

    Clam chowder

We had a short time before we had to leave for our flight, so we had to find some place close to the hotel. None of us wanted anything too heavy, and Yelp helped us find this place. My coworker and I split a bowl of clam chowder, which they kindly split into two small bowls. It was sooooooo good. This is how good chowder is made. Potatoes and veggies and cream.... chef's kiss! I had the Ahi Tuna Bowl for my entree, and it was perfect. Highly recommend this place, especially if you're looking for a tasty meal in the healthier side. This spot was within walking distance to our hotel and was flagged as having a kids menu - the reviews looked good so we made the trek to have dinner. The place is really nice inside - a lot of lights and tall tables. I was a bit surprised when we were seated at a high top as we had a 2 year old and a 5 year old with us. There were some options on the other side of the restaurant that had booths against the wall - that probably would have been a better option for the kiddos. We didn't think anything of it until my daughter fell out of her chair; she was tired and misjudged when she went to grab her food; luckily she was fine. I don't know if anybody noticed as there wasn't a single person that asked if she was ok. The food came out quickly - we appreciated that! We got calamari to start and it was delicious. We were offered a number of types of water to begin and our server really seemed to want us to order drinks but I only wanted water. My husband and I both ordered the chicken and my kids both got cheese quesadillas. We really liked the chicken, the flavors were awesome and the fresh greenery served with it complimented it well. The portions were generous and the kids both got free ice cream. Luckily, we weren't too picky about if the kids could have the ice cream because it got brought out before their plates were cleared. I would have loved to give 4 or 5 stars but it just felt like a disconnect when it came to having a customer with young children.

Solid Happy Hour @ Hampton Social! Lots of great deals, but wish they made it more clear that the specials are only at the bar. Skinny Marg: 4/5 Spinach and Artichoke dip: 3/5 Sausage pizza: 3/5 (would suggest asking for it well-done, was very runny and hard to eat!) Beautiful restaurant with an outdoor patio. Good service, Bartenders were kind and inviting!!

I actually love coming to eat early because the servers are a little more attentive since they just started their shift and the service is a little faster as there are less tables. Let me tell you, though, whatever we came it was quite busy with graduations and family dinners-which I didn't mind at all! What ate a relatively large meal as I had eaten a smaller lunch. We started off with the wedge salad and a yellowtail sushi roll. The wedge salad was pretty average, but the dressing was really delicious. The yellowtail was also pretty good and the jalapeño topping gave an extra kick last minute. For the entrées, we ordered the scallops as well as the pan seared Chilean Seabass. The scallops are buttery, rich, and had a perfect crispy crust. The Seabass was flaky and light-overall a very good combination of flavors. We got a side of the broccolini and then the crème brûlée and a piece of Keylime pie to go. Overall a very filling and delicious meal-I was pleasantly surprised with the scallops and how light the sea bass was.

HIGHLY recommend the key lime pie if you're a fan! It also includes some of that salt foam! The sticky toffee was a huge hit at our table!! And the passion fruit in the flan was a very yummy add on!! Our server was the best!! She was so lovely and made excellent recommendations!!

The ambiance was beautiful, our waiter was so kind, and the service was great. The waiter misheard my order so I didn't get my right entree the first time but they were super kind, quick, and accommodating to bring out my correct order. The food was AMAZING! We shared the tuna tartar as an appetizer and it was one of the best things i've tried! The presentation was also so fun and pretty, served inside a coconut with plantain chips on the side. I ordered the lobster roll and it was so so so amazing, definitely best i've ever had. The bun was toasted and buttery and the lobster filled with flavor.. I could eat 5 of them!! They also had brought seasoned corn nuts to the table when we were seated and salted caramels for dessert, both fun and yummy. Would recommend to anyone looking for a bit of a nicer dinner in Chicago. We had a reservation on a Saturday night and it looked like the place was full, we were glad we had one and got seated right away.

The wood shelving, classic decor, and lively atmosphere made it feel timeless. The service was easily one of the best parts of the experience. Since it was our first visit, David walked us through the restaurant's history, constantly refilled waters, and somehow managed to clear plates within seconds of us finishing. They also made us an anniversary card, gave us complimentary sparkling water, and surprised us with a slice of key lime pie. The hospitality was incredible and made us feel genuinely celebrated. The stone crab was super fresh and the mustard sauce was the perfect pairing. The crab bisque was rich and creamy. The filet was cooked perfectly with a great sear, while the stuffed lobster tail was warm, flavorful, and topped with a parmesan crust. The lobster roll was solid with a perfectly toasted brioche bun. The sweet corn was sweet, buttery, and smoky. For dessert, the blueberry pie was so comforting. The filling had a chewy texture, wasn't overly sweet, and the crust was perfectly crisp. The key lime pie was a nice surprise from the restaurant and had a great graham cracker crust. Overall, every dish was delicious and executed well but nothing really wowed me flavor wise. If you love classic steakhouse food and seafood, this is the spot. The service alone makes it a fantastic spot for celebrations. Thank you David & Joe's Seafood for the incredible night.

People like him have almost a "super‑recognizer" ability: they store faces, mannerisms, and micro‑details the way others remember song lyrics. It's rare, and when you encounter it, it feels almost uncanny in the best way. And the fact that he consistently recognizes you over the years tells you it's not luck. It's intentional, it's skill, and it's part of why the place feels special before you even sit down. Pair that with a meal that exceeded expectations -- that's the kind of night that reminds you why you've been a loyal patron for so long. Great food is memorable, but great hospitality is what makes a restaurant feel like a second home.

My daughter asked to come here so we came downtown on a Friday around 7:30pm and it was pretty crowded, but by it only being two of us our wait time was less than 10 minutes. Once seated you scan the QR code to look over the menu and once decided you go to one counter to place your food order and the bar to place your drink order, they then bring your food to the table and our food came pretty quick after ordering. Bib on, gloves on, time to dig in... My daughter ordered the bag with shrimp, crab legs, corn and potatoes and I ordered lobster tails, corn and potatoes and two lemonades (lemonades were delicious!) We ordered our food with the everythang sauce (which is a mix of all their sauces) and it was really good and really flavorful. Messy is to be expected but surprisingly the food mess was manageable and did not take away from my dining experience. The amount of crab legs in my bag to me did not justify $32 and if it wasn't for the potatoes and two corns I'm sure I would of still been hungry. Seafood boils are not a cheap experience neither, our meals with the two lemonades and no alcohol was $110, so definitely not an every weekend dining option, but leaving I did see on their info board that their shrimp, crab bags are $28 Monday - Thursday and they look to have a pretty good happy hour so this might be a reason for a quicker return. Overall my experience was pretty good.

The ambiance is nice inside and gets busy a little after happy hour. I would say their happy hour deal is such a good deal and if you wanted to you can share with other people. Loved that they have spice levels like hot to extra spicy. The jalepeno corn bread was really good and flavorful. The mango lemonade is also good but wished it was a little colder. The beignets can get a little messy but they were good as well being that it was my first time.

A huge thank you to our server, Jimmy. His service was impeccable; he was patient and took the time to explain the menu in detail, which we truly appreciated. The food was amazing across the board. We shared a variety of dishes, including the lobster bisque, ahi tuna tartare, and the deviled eggs topped with caviar. For mains, the snapper, shrimp scampi, teriyaki salmon, and chicken were all cooked to perfection. Make sure to try the smoked gouda tater tots and mashed potatoes as sides--they were delicious. We ended the night by sharing the warm butter cake with ice cream, which was the perfect birthday treat. Even as non-drinkers, we had a fantastic time. This is an excellent restaurant and we highly recommend it for any special occasion!

I was excited, but they proceeded to sit us in a shared booth setting right on a busy aisle where I was literally facing a wall. We asked about moving seats, and to their credit we were moved to the back room tables with a window view. As we were waiting for our meal, two women were sat next to us, who was then joined by one of the hostesses (?) who proceeded to stand there with the two slightly intoxicated ladies and have a full on vacation gossip session about where they've traveled and who they know. I looked over at the hostess, who saw me, but didn't take the hint and continued having a loud obnoxious conversation directly next to us. This was going on for what seemed like 10 minutes, so I looked over again, to which she finally took the hint, ended the conversation, then clearly tried to do damage control by checking in with us. I finally got my order, the filet mignon, which I ordered medium rare. The first few bites were relatively good, nothing really special to be honest, but as I got further into the steak noticed it was cooked extremely uneven as the bites got more raw as I went. The remaining bites were literally cold red raw meat in the center. We ordered dessert, which was the Buttered Cake (?), which admittedly was the best part of the experience there. Overall, it was an experience I could have had at Applebee's. I was not impressed with the service, the staff, or the food. For the prices you pay to eat there you expect a level of decorum and attention, none of which we received. Will definitely not visit ever again, and would never recommend this place out of the dozens of expensive steakhouses in Chicago.
