I recently got my wedding dress altered here and got my mothers wedding dress made into a getting…read moreready robe and I did not have a good experience- nothing was done correctly. I needed very minimal alterations done in the beginning and by the end, I needed so many more alterations to fix what she did to my dress. The sleeves that she attached to my dress were very uneven, the top of my dress was taken in differently on each side and did not look good, she detached the corset piece when she took out a layer of lining and never reattached it so it kept moving when I had the dress on. For the robe, I put it on and we marked where I wanted the length to be, but she cut way shorter than what we spoke about and the robe was extremely short that it was uncomfortable to wear. I could not even tie the belt that went with the robe because if I tied it, it made the robe even shorter and looked like I was wearing a shirt. For the high price I paid and the outcomes I had, I was extremely disappointed and upset. I had to take my wedding dress somewhere new the week of my wedding to get it fixed and ultimately had to pay again. The new seamstress I brought my dress too was appalled with how poorly the alterations were done and was shocked at what I paid since she said everything was done incorrectly. I will say everyone in the store was extremely nice. I never leave a bad review, but reading reviews during wedding planning was so helpful for me and I would not suggest this place for wedding dress alterations as it is so important that your dress is taken care of and you are happy with it.

She even stayed past my appointment time to help me. I posted pictures of my 2 favorite dresses at her salon. One of them is a sample dress for only $100!!!!! At the time of my visit, it was my top pick, and she graciously offered to hold it for 24 hours for me. Although I ultimately chose a dress from another boutique, I am so glad I came to The Dress Matters. Thank you!!!

First floor is mother-of-the-bride type stuff in one room, communion and flower girl dresses in another, and prom dresses upstairs. The MOB side is a mix of kinda dowdy and really flashy. The woman was pretty helpful, although she had only been working there for a few weeks. Mom tried on a bunch of things and didn't find much that she was interested in. There were about 3 styles that she thought she would like and just as we were about to create a file a friend of the sales woman came in and she went up to the prom floor with her and sent someone else down to finish the little bit of paperwork...which felt like a brush off.

I asked if they had size 16's when we arrived, the lady said a few, I'd have to hunt. There were several girls there ahead of us trying on dresses, the staff was engaging with them, bringing more dresses, placing them in front of tri-mirrors and handing out compliments. When it was my daughters turn, they placed her in a dressing room and never said a word. My heart broke for her.

I booked one appointment and worked with Bryan, who was so friendly and welcoming, and who helped me narrow down what style of dress I was looking for within my budget. I went alone, but working with him was like having a friend there with me! He was able to answer most of my questions about altering and design, which was so helpful to be able to imagine what dresses could look like with a little imagination! There were a few dresses that I liked but I wasn't 100% in love with anything I tried on that day. Bryan recommended I come back another time because they are always getting new dresses in. I booked a second appointment the next week to retry on one dress I had tried on previously. This time, I got to work with Gerardo. Thankfully, they had just received a bunch of new dresses the day before. After chatting for a bit, Gerardo helped me pick out more dresses to try on, saving the retry for last. I felt like I was in a rom-com: trying on all these gorgeous gowns, Gerardo dressing me up in lace gloves and different veils and accessories, walking me around the boutique so I could get the real feel. Even the owner stopped what he was doing to join in on the fun. And then, I was stopped in my tracks by the one. I couldn't speak, at first, I just stared at myself in the mirror. The dress was, is, exactly what I was looking for: Flattering, modest-yet-sexy, classic, somewhat vintage-inspired, and unique. I didn't even want to retry the original dress on. We arrived right on time and were the only people in the store. We were brought in the back dressing area. Rosemary was so sweet and helpful. She showed me what area had my dress sizes. I picked a few dresses & started trying them on. Rosemary picked out a few as we were progressing. Very relaxing, low stress experience. I found my wedding dress! The store is special because you take the dress home from the rack. This is great when the dress is your size and style. Highly recommend coming here once you've tried other bridal stores. I didn't plan on buying, the appointment was really just for fun but I feel for my dress and GOODNESS the price was GREAT.
