    I bought my wedding gown at Elizabeth Johns in Ardmore, and Nilah was the first on their list of recommendations for alterations. I was thrilled that Nilah's office is located about a mile from my home in Havertown, PA. Jennifer worked with me to set up appointments, provide pricing for accessories, and answer any questions that I may have had. She always greeted me and my guests at the door with a smile. When my schedule got a bit crazy, Jennifer patiently provided options for dates and times for fittings. She is an asset to Nilah's business! Nilah herself was incredible - she made my gown into exactly what I pictured, and it fit PERFECTLY the day of the wedding. Nilah was able to change the bodice of the gown into a sweetheart shape, something I really wanted from the beginning, with no problem. The half French, half American bustle that she added was gorgeous! Nilah also provided choices for accessories, and I purchased a beautiful rose gold cluster belt (which she secured to the dress) and two hair pieces. She even custom made my Grace Kelly length veil with a silk ribbon edge, and it complimented the gown perfectly. Lastly, she saved scraps from my dress for my florist to use for my bouquet. The service and alterations are well worth the price. Definitely contact Nilah & Company if you need alterations!

    Nilah did an absolutely incredible job on the bustle of my not-so-simple crepe gown! She also created the most beautiful cathedral-length veil with delicately scattered rhinestones... all for a fraction of the cost of nearby vendors!

I wanted both panels cut and hemmed, so that in the end I would have four panels: three 50" w x 36" l, and one 50"w x 48"l. It was a little hard for the man to get what I wanted by he seemed to. He said the cost would be $60. I said this was twice the cost of the curtains so he said $50, and if I paid cash there would be no tax. (Should have been a red flag.) I came in today to pick the curtains up; unfortunately did not check these until I got home, when I saw there were only two panels, not four. I returned to the store, thinking there would be a second hanger with my two other curtains. To make a long story short, after much discussion, with the P&J family telling me I wanted something for nothing, I wanted just to retrieve my panels to take them somewhere else, and I wanted half the cost returned, or $25. The family accused me of wanting something for nothing, I said I only wanted what was promised. I said if he didn't simply return the unfinished pieces and the $25 I would go to the police (knowing this wasn't a criminal issue) and would give an appropriate review. They called the police and I told my side of the story. They were unable to get my $25 back, only the unfinished curtains. I would be very careful about using P&J. He may be a good tailor but I think his ability to comprehend what a customer wants is impaired. PS: a woman who identified herself as his granddaughter said she was getting this all on her camera and if I posted a bad review would use it. So be it. I said I hoped she got both sides of this dispute recorded.

I am a…read morebridesmaid and along with 4 other bridesmaids, we purchased our dresses from this boutique. Impression #1: We arrived and no one greeted us nor decided to offer us any assitance. We had to ask for help repeatedly during our visit. During our sizing and ordering of our dresses, we decided to go for a smaller size, but the sales people were adament that we should not. Thinking that they would know what they're talking about, we listed to their advice and ordered the recommended size. Impression #2: They were supposed to call us in 2 weeks to let us know when the dresses should arrive. Four weeks later, I had to call them for a date. I even asked why we never received a call, they said they did not have our phone numbers. You didn't have any one of our 5 phone numbers?? doubtful. Impression #3: The date they provided for us comes and passes, still no phone call. The bride had to call and we get the "oh, they're here. come pick them up" How about a call?? you definitely had my number after I gave it to you after Impression #2. Last (hopefully) impression: Dresses arrive, the bride would like to see all her bridesmaids in their dresses at the boutique. We arrive. Repeat impression #1 - no help whatsoever. We get our dresses, and the maid of honor's dress was wrong! No apologies, just a ton of excuses. They gave us so much attitude when we told them we would like to try on the dresses. They offered us one stall to try on our dresses. To top it off, all the dresses were too big! Because we listened to their advice and bought the recommended sizes, we now have to pay for alterations! To wrap up my rant, they are very unprofessional and downright rude as soon as they get your money. There are plenty of other options out there who better deserve all the money you're about to spend.
