I…read morehad my head down while sitting upright at a table, listening to a lecture with headphones on, and was told I couldn't have my head down--even though I wasn't lying down or disturbing anyone. This rule is overly strict and targets students trying to study or concentrate. Librarians should focus on maintaining the facility and supporting patrons, not nitpicking harmless behavior. A library should be a welcoming space for learning, not a place where students are harassed for quietly minding their own business.

They have a great library with alot of connected museums nearby and good flyer management. It's the way of the world now that in this digital age where people are so seperate and distant from eachother, places like the library have to bring back that social connection amongst people cuz without that there really is no valuing of knowledge, even in things like books. Unlike some libraries, the set up is ideal, so there are quiet spots away from the children's areas and public computers. I'm there a lot writing, and am rarely disturbed by other patrons in the little back area with the study tables. The nonfiction book selection is good; they even have a technical manual that I thought would be hard to find. As a mom, I've also been very pleased with the programming for youngsters! Between 6 and 18 months, it's hard to find activities that are age appropriate, but they have great story time for the little guys! I love the cafe on site. It's rarely too crowded, everyone is friendly, and the coffee is pretty good. My only caveat for this library system is a poor e-book database. However, I'm assuming there's not much of a market for the e-books in the area, but hopefully that will grow as more people adopt the media.

I have been charged twice for books they say I did not return,only to find the items on…read moretheir shelf. 1st time was a $70 video set & 2nd time was for a $20 book.No apology,only scolding from director.2nd time I was sent to collections.When I said I was upset my credit was being being threatened for their mistake,I was told there is no reporting to credit agency.I then asked the "Director","So what is the purpose of the e-mail from collections? Intimidation? To which the "director" ,immediately & without hesitation,replied "YES"! This is 2 incidents within 1 year. Beware that they do not charge you for lost materials,that they are losing themselves.Laziness & incompetence should not be tolerated.

Their computer monitors are very state-of-the-art; they have the ability to rotate almost completely sideways (watch sideways) & the height can also be lowered or raised -if You like to sit up high and keep the screen at eye-level! They move a couple more ways but, they do not tilt backwards -which would be necessary if You stood up and we're looking down at the monitor. Their media catalogue contains literally hundreds of great DVDs & a similar amount of Blu-rays! They offer a large selection of biographies/autobiographies; such as Erika Jayne's autobiography! Their second floor consists of 8 computers (4 on each side with) lots of desk surface for Your things! Drinks are okay if they have a lid/cap. Don't worry about space if You bring Your own device(s); they have about 8 personal tables for You & 2 friends (3 seats total!) Take note that not all tables have a charging outlet located on the floor. There is also a large area to the left (which is circular) for about 15 people to work privately! Not sure yet about the outlet situation over there. Bring large charging cables for Your devices in any situation. The computers have many charging outlets on the desk; charge 4-5 things if needed! It's probably best to bring a "multiple USB" usb adapter; there is only one usb port on the monitor with others possibly located elsewhere. The monitor has an SD card reader; buy an SD adapter to load files on Your TF/Micro SD card and place Your uploaded files on the micro so card into Your teléfono! It's a perfect library with even more perfect Librarians -my favorite aspect of anyplace that I visit! Shout out to Colette, Carmela, Andrea, Heather, Niel; my favorite Librarians!!! Neil says, "The language; it's unacceptable." I replied, "That movie is too fuc**ng funny!"

Free classes at the local library sounded great. We've attended the Baby & Me- walk in & offered Mon-Wed and Fun w/ Music- registration required. The staff is friendly and the resources are plenty. It's conveniently located in downtown Plainfield with plenty of parking- street & private lot.

Well, yes, it's JUST a library, but I've been in numerous libraries in my lifetime and I must say…read morethis one is the best by far. Extremely clean, neat and orderly. The staff are exceptional, friendly and go above and beyond to help you with anything -- if they don't have it, they do everything they can to get it for you! They offer tons of special get-together from book clubs to tot-reading meeting groups. They have this thick reference binder with lists of "Like" authors that I've never seen before -- for example, if you love to read books by John Grisham -- you like his style, but you've already read everything he wrote, the reference binder they have up at the front desk (You'll have to ask) has a list of authors that write similarly (either topic or style) to John Grisham (or any other MANY MANY MANY authors). If you are like me and often wish for a place to just "get away" from your home, kids, or husband (but can't afford to run off and hide in Jamaica), then come hide out here! Since it's a library which requires the ambiance must be quiet and peaceful, you have the perfect excuse as to why you didn't answer your cell phone ;-)
