This place is clean, bright and well kept. However, the washers do not have hot water! I did a load of whites, selected hot water, it was tap water cold. The person working there said "the washers do not have hot water" A LAUNDROMAT WITHOUT HOT WATER! ...and the the WiFi is bad but that's not as much of an. Issue. read more

This place is okay. I go here to do my laundry because it's right down the street from my apartment. There are a lot of washers and dryers, which makes it easy to do a lot of laundry no matter when you come in. Price-wise, it's a little high. $2 to wash a single load, $0.25 for 8 minutes in the dryer. Some dryers are better than others, so make a note of the ones that dry your stuff faster. There are definitely some creepy people here. I've been hit on by creepy, sometimes aggressive dudes more times than I care to remember. That kind of comes with the territory of laundromats, though. Cleanliness leaves something to be desired. I once found a condom wrapper on the counter next to a machine. I actually never fold my clothes on those counters because it just seems...unhygienic. Jolly Clean Giant has been a useful friend, but I am glad to be moving to a place with on-site laundry, that's for sure. read more

The thing I love about this place is that it's next to Peabody's. I would rate it higher than 3 stars if the coin changer machine wasn't broken the last time I was there. They do have a million machines ranging from single load to up to 8 load washers. Clientelle seems above board. Go next door to Peabody's for a cheap meal and strong booze. read more

Clean laundry facility... BUT, is over priced. Required Hot Wash for whites; filled machine with water before adding clothes. Water was ice cold! Attendant tried to explain that it gradually added hot water (total BS)!!! Checked machine through all cycles water was never even warm. Also used a large capacity machine. 3 minutes before end of cycle it was still extracting soapy water. I used less than recommended soap for size of load. Now have to run wash again without soap to rinse properly. Won't be back. Probably ok for homeless and those who couldn't care less. Oh, and bathroom access is apparently at the discretion of the attendant ? read more

I don't have much experience with laundromats but this place was fine and got the job done. The card is nice vs dealing with quarters, and the machines worked fine. Dryers were spotty and other patrons warned me about which dryers work and which ones just ate quarters. Otherwise fine for doing laundry and bonus is Mr Peabody's next door so you can have a beer and watch a game while your clothes are being dealt with! read more

I thought I had found a great place to do fluff and fold. I use a lot of sheets for my business and it has been hard to find an affordable service to drop off or for pick up. I found them, the lady was super sweet, told me the cost and I asked if I could pick it up the next day around 8am. She said yes, that someone will be there all day. I went in at said time and no one was there, this happened once more during the hours stated they are there. The third time I went in, she was there. I tried to pay with the company card and she said "oh by the way we only take cash only, I forgot to tell you." I was in a hurry and my bank is not there, so I left. Today I went in this morning, I called, they said they were there, I came with my $30 cash (the total cost was $28.50) and she said "Oh, I'm sorry I don't have any change, you'll have to come back, I'll leave a note." I am very frustrated at this point that this is now my 4th time coming in, they only take cash yet they don't have change available, not even $1.50. When I asked for a receipt (as I need to get reimbursed from my company and couldn't use the card) she said "We don't give receipts." Seriously, I am pissed. I left, no change, no receipt and laundry that is acceptable as clean. read more

This seems to be a nice somewhat quiet, in the morning, clean place to get one's laundry duties done and it's close. It's great that they provide wifi while you wait. There are TV's there as well but they are never turned on when I've visited. My main complaint though is that the restroom is always 'Out of Order'... Gggrrrr :-\ A lady came in this morning and had to use it before tending her laundry; I directed her to go next door. OMGosh at least two of your neighbouring businesses will allow one to use their facilities. read more

Our dryer broke 2 weeks ago; and during the perfect time of year. I thought something was wrong when the 1st load took all day to dry. So the immediate decision was laundromat. I like this place. It gets crowded fast, but the clothes get done fast. We just come here to dry clothes, but prefer to instead of getting a new dryer because it takes only 45 minutes to dry a weeks worth of laundry and sheets and towels for a family of 4. I like that. 45 minutes, done. The place is OK, and there are a lot of distractions close by, like a bar, fast food, and a Petco..and a barbershop. And the employees work constantly to keep the place picked up. I appreciate that. I would wipe down the counters before folding your clothes. I'm sure there clean, but its a habit. read more

Probably hit-or-miss depending on your luck of who else is in there. We've gone one time and this place is much better than other places we've been to. Plenty of washers/dryers and wasn't busy (around 7 a.m. on a Tuesday morn). Clean place, change machine worked well, other people in there were friendly and it was a calm environment. Bathroom had an out of service sign on it so I'm not sure what that's about. We'll be back weekly so I'll change my review if anything changes. p.s. Not too bad- I'm in a laundry-less rental for a month- So I'm forced to explore the options of Encinitas. This place is better than others for sure. Pretty clean. Lots of machines. Cons: -When I came back to grab my clothes (possibly) homeless people were laying on all the benches/folding tables with all their bags, shoeless- washing their sneakers/sleeping bags, and napping. I needed to find a commercial washing machine that would wash an 8x10 foot flatweave wool rug. Was afraid the local laundromats would shoo me away as a menace. But not Jolly Clean. When I phoned, the woman working told me to come on in, and when I arrived, stopped what she was doing and helped me load the heavy rug into the 8x washer. Very nice. A sign on the wall indicates that you can bring rugs, drapes, etc. to wash in the big machines. There's a coin machine that gave me quarters (for $1, $5, $10). The cycle wasn't long but the rug looked great when it came out (I used woolite, borax, vinegar, plux oxi clean for spots), and the water was well extracted. It's now drying on the driveway. A like-new rug for $8. It was a quiet weekday noon with a few friendly people in the 'mat. There are places to sit and fold and big windows letting in light and looking at the hill over Encinitas Blvd. For a public laundromat, it looked very clean, aisles wide. My visit was very pleasant. And parking outside the door made it easy to haul the rug back to the car. The first time I washed this secondhand rug, 10 years ago, I snuck into the basement of my building at 2am and used the 2x washer. The building Stasi would have banned me had they found out. Today, I was able to operate with dignity, in broad daylight. read more

This place is really gone downhill! When I first started using it about three months ago almost all the machines worked. Now about half work and none have been repaired. I know that some of it is customer abuse. A lot of the machines have been broken by any inappropriate use. However, the owners are not repairing anything! And now many of the machines are leaking onto the floor. read more

Just did laundry there today. I had about a week and a half worth since my dryer broke down on me. I had $65 in cash -$10 for little ceaser's pizza dinner. Came out with $17 left. WTH?!? Took 4 hours to do 3 loads and I used the 7 load washer (which I love how they have HUGE ASS washers. Do they sell for home use?)! Any who. Took about 25-30 mins to wash everything we had. Not to busy on a Tuesday. Now here's where all the money and time went. DRYING! I'm not sure but I don't think they clean out the lint vents very often. It took me 1 hour for 1 load not even stuffed and some clothes were still damp! Yes, I put that sucker on high! After the 3rd hr., Yes, THIRD HOUR. I figured that barely anyone uses the bottom dryers. IDK why, maybe cause no one wants to bend over, pull a back muscle or anything but what ever the case, the bottom dryers dry better! The clothes were fully dry and I didn't have to keep feeding the damn machine unlike the top machines that took my soda money (I didn't need the soda anyways)! So to make my long review even longer... Star for- the big ass washing machines, 7,4,3 and 1 loads available. pleathera of dryers clean laundry matt (I've seen worse)! 3 or 4 change machines Poop for- Dryers! Take to long. You had 1 job Dryer! :( Maintenance for my dryer will be coming in a week. Hope I'll have some clean underwear by then or someone's going commando! O_O read more

Can't even wait for me to finish packing up to get out of the way. First time I have ever been to a laundry mat. I live in a town home, and our laundry was out of service. So I loaded up my car and my child to head out to this place. I was so thankful they were open Christmas eve. Nobody was in there and they have free wifi. I was able to do 6 loads of laundry in about 1hour and 45minutes for under $20. Pretty good I think. Nice atmosphere. Its a cute little plaza too... you can go have a drink next door at the bar or shop around petco. :) read more

Clean place but the required card to load cash to do laundry is a complete pain in the butt and nothing but a revenue scavaging tool. For example, my dryer broke so I came here to dry 3 loads of laundry. No idea how good th driers are here. Couldn't just change a few bucks for coins. Had to buy a card, load it, and any ones left on th card will flow to the owner. Added complexity for benefit of no one but the owner. read more

$$ spent - dirty soapy laundry in return. Two weeks behind on laundry while down with a back injury & my washer's mcu (a $300 part! ) dies on a Sunday night mid-first load. Scheduled to return to work the next day & hoping to do so with clean clothes, I found myself in The Jolly Clean after an internet search said they were open till 11pm. I arrive just a few minutes before 10pm with 6 loads & my own soap/softener. The man mopping the floor informed me that last wash was at 10pm pointing to the hours on the window. I tell him I'm just washing & will take home to dry. He says a wash cycle takes 30min so it's fine & I shove 4 small loads into a larger 4load front loading machine & 2 into the regular top loaders. On final rinse/spin I can clearly see through the glass port hole on the front loading machine tons of suds. I get my supposedly clean wet cloths home to dry & all shirts still smell of bo in the armpits, socks & everything else smell like dirty laundry only wet. When they dry they are all stiff & crunchy with detergent. A not-so-Jolly waste of time, money & gas. My husband took a few loads of his own to the Coin Laundry off Del Mar Heights Rd & his cloths at least got clean. read more
