I couldn't walk more than 25 yards and I was in constant pain. I had asked to be referred to Dr. Yundt for over a year, but I kept ending up with other PAs and other neurosurgeons, because providers in corporations are unwilling to refer outside their group.All they told me to do was get injections into my spine, which did no good whatsoever. I finally did some foot stamping, and ended up in Dr. Yundt's office. he took one look at my MRI and told me not to worry, that he could help me. I had a laminectomy on L 2-3, 3-4, and 4-5, and when I woke up from anesthesia, for the first time in two years, I could feel my feet, and when it came time to be discharged from this day surgery, I could stand up straight and tall, and walk normally, painlessly. I'm going to be able to ride my horse in another month, and now I can walk normally everywhere; I can hike, I walk my fields, And start living a normal life. Dr. Yundt changed my life, or perhaps I should say that he returned my life to me. I cannot say enough, good about him. He was clear and concise, and very straightforward. Not only is he a skilIed and conscientious surgeon, but also a stellar person who does many works for those less fortunate. I don't think he has a God complex, but he certainly deserves to. I was only there to re-up a script for migraine meds (Sumatriptan), but Anne futilely attempted to weigh me, give me a pelvic exam, and put me on a daily migraine med. None of these procedures and prescriptions were my reason for my appointment that day, yet she became irate at my refusals & accused me of refusing those treatments. In my opinion, she's a lunatic.

I was diagnosed with Dupuytren's contracture by Dr. Verheyden, presenting as a minor condition in…read moremy pinky finger. He recommended an injection treatment. During the procedure, he identified what he described as an additional "flat node" in my ring finger and suggested injecting that as well, which I agreed to. Ten days after the procedure, I experienced what I believed to be a rupture in my ring finger. Dr. Verheyden assessed the symptoms as part of the normal healing process. After three follow-up appointments with the same assessment, I sought an MRI, which revealed complete ruptures of the A2, A3, and A4 pulley tendons in my ring finger, as well as a complete rupture of the A2 pulley in my pinky finger. I subsequently required reconstructive surgery on the A2 pulleys in both fingers, using a graft from my palmaris longus tendon. Since the surgery, I have experienced approximately 50% reduced grip strength, limited flexion in my ring finger, and ongoing pain.

The front office person, April, is rude and defensive and takes no responsibility for lack of transparency about this instead blaming me for being frustrated. Customer service 101 is empathize, express basic understanding, deescalate. Her defensive customer service approach is the opposite: tell you she's worked there over 6 years (so?) tell you she "doesn't know Dr Higgins schedule one day to the next", tell you it's your fault for not knowing he's got 2 offices and travels, tells you you're rude for asking questions she doesn't like and hanging up on you because she can't manage her own reactivity. Dr Higgins is great and I liked him but due to his unavailability and April's personality issues and lack of customer service skills I'd suggest avoiding this office!
