My only regret is not booking sooner, because the video he created is hands down my favorite memento from our wedding day. I am very type-A and a project manager by trade, so I can't help but micromanage anyone that comes across my path. Not only did Gene work beautifully with me, but he made the entire process SO easy. Planning a wedding can be so overwhelming, especially because I've never worked with wedding vendors before, and that made me a little nervous. Gene's process was so simple and I can't even give any constructive criticism, because everything was better than I could have imagined. I met with all of my vendors ahead of time, except for Gene -there was no need to. He took every detail I gave him into careful consideration and no request was too small or large. When I initially contracted with him I took quite a bit of time looking at all of his videos from other weddings and trying to pinpoint things I liked and things I didn't like to try and tell him what would be best, but everything was so well done that I knew we were in good hands! I was anxiously awaiting our wedding video after our wedding day, and he delivered it a week ahead of time and it was beautiful. I cried tears of joy the first time watching it, and then again when I watched it with my mother and then again with my grandmother. It's truly something we will remember forever. If you're on the fence about booking a videographer, get off the fence and book with Gene. Find a way to add this into your wedding budget, you will not be disappointed.

Her online portfolio…read morewas impressive of course, but given there is literally a small window of time to get the "perfect" newborn photos, I was very nervous. I got burned with my wedding photographer (so many many years ago, but I was so unhappy with finished product that I feel like it was yesterday), so I did not want the same to happen again with another of life's important milestones. But it was so unnecessary - April is so patient, so professional, and so kind! She bonded with my newborn immediately and took her time to get the best shots. I mean she REALLY took her time. You can tell she understands and realizes that every shot is a reflection of her work and the pride in her work, and she takes no shortcuts. Her studio is ?in flux - she is supposedly trying to find a new studio, but in all honesty, her current one seemed fine to me (ignorance is bliss?). Her prices (session+photos) are not cheap, however they are indeed reasonable given her level of expertise. Remember you get what you pay for, and what you pay for is an experienced professional and excellent photography. I am in the process of ordering announcements and print photos from her now (so difficult as so many of the proofs are simply gorgeous), and I am sure I will not be disappointed. I will update my review when they are delivered. I highly recommend April (she is also seemingly the "newborn whisperer" in my opinion, LOL...I wanted to take her home with me for those 3am crying spells!) UPDATE: Got my announcements and photos! Love, love, love! Fantastic quality as expected, and presented in a lovely neutral-toned rugged keepsake box and ribbon: the proverbial icing on the cake!

Working with Chip was so much fun. It was quick (which is important when you're hot and 8 months pregnant) but not rushed and his laid back personality took the pressure off of us trying to be "models". We took our photos on a Saturday and received our beautiful portfolio the following Wednesday. The pictures are amazing, more than I even imagined and I may have shed a tear or two. I 100% recommend going with Chip Dizard for your photography/maternity shoot needs. I love the entire portfolio and would not hesitate to use him and his team again. They were great. I found Nessa on Instagram and her photos blew me away. I loved the way her photos made me feel,…read morealmost as if you were transported into a fairytale or a dream. When I contacted her, she was very responsive and sent me many examples of her portfolio. When we met with her, she was very professional and agreed to do a lengthy, multi-day wedding shooting. Fast forward to the wedding day, Nessa absolutely nailed the photos. She took beautiful candids but also managed to take scores of huge group photos of family and friends where everyone looked great and didn't blink somehow, and she did it in seemingly 1-2 seconds per group. She agreed to travel with the bride and groom to 2 locations during the wedding day (in between the ceremony and reception) and captured the most stunning autumn photos. Even though we didn't prepare for any couple poses, she shared fun ideas to make us seem more natural and it actually worked. She also was great at taking dance floor photos and everything in between. We received our plethora of beautiful photos through email and were so absolutely pleased. We would absolutely recommend Nessa as she is an expert behind the camera, super fun and easy going, and she helped us capture our day just the way we always pictured it.
