Oil change 2 months ago, morphed in to cabin filter change. They claimed prior mechanic broke glove box, despite glove box working for past year. Claimed either $130 part may work or complete new box for over $1000. My regular mechanic in the city informs me that they put the cabin filter in wrong and part to fix glove box is $30. OBTW...since they put the cabin filter in wrong, no heat comes out of under dash vents. Guys who work there gather around desk and shoot the breeze about all kinds of stuff, in view of customers who are waiting for their cars. Very unprofessional. I had a Continental car tire with a flat that I had asked Jon Miller Car Care to determine if it was still under warranty (8/32 or more tread). I was literally told that the tire was at 7 3/4 and did not have enough tread to be under warranty. My regular mechanic in Tom's River remeasured the tire and measured the tire as having more than 8/32 and therefore should be under warranty. My regular mechanic returned my tire to Continental for review. I just received a check of $191.00 from Continental tire company for warrant payment of my flat tire. How hard is it to measure the tread on a tire? Isn't that one of the simplest things to do? read more

Spent 3200 on repairs. Huge markups. Initially I was ok because my car had to be towed because a primary module failed. I get a call car is good to go all lights are out. Pay the bill get in the car TPMS light is on. Service Mangler Matt said oh I said all the lights were out that's not associated with the module. Well it worked before I got there. They fried my battery because they left it hooked up and the leveling motor ran into the battery was completely drained despite me telling them to unhook it. Dubious and unethical business practices. Brought my 1963 Chevy corvair to Jon Miller and spoke with Matt and told him I was having brake issues and had the car almost a week and he told me that I need wheel cylinders and also I needed a few more things done that they said need replacement but was corrected by fixing. they had the car a week, and still waiting to get parts. I had a feeling i was being defrauded, so I had the car towed to another shop and the wheels cylinders where brand new and the problem was a brake line craked, the tried to sell me new wheel cylinders that did not need replacing also the things he charged me 119.73 to diagnose and fix where not done, I paid $544.18 for nothing, do not bring your classic car here Jon Miller car care is a complete fraud... read more

Went here today for the first time to get a flat repaired. I chose this place based on the community involvement of the owner, Jon Miller. He is very generous and donates to community events. He's a good guy! (I met him today) His shop is large and very busy. I arrived about 11:30 on a Saturday morning and it took about an hour. The customer service guys at the desk offered us coffee, hot chocolate , or hot cider. Nice touch when it's 23 degrees outside! I had coffee and the kind gentleman even made it for me! The waiting area is nice and clean and modern, even toys for kids to play with ! The job was Done correctly, I was notified of other problems with my vehicle, we were treated very well while waiting and even give a tiny chocolate car when we left! No complaints from me or they other 3 customers in the room. I would definitely return here! read more

I went here for a quote and as the owner shoved a bagel in his mouth during our conversation, a c-oworker chimed in with extranneous repairs not necessary to the job. I merely wanted my spark plugs changed, and as usual in a profit thieving industry where (stereotypically) women get lied to; using my own plugs that I already purchased was disallowed. I was quoted a price by Tuckerton Car wash that included my plugs being allowed to be used. Also, the Nissan dealership where I purchased the car, also ok'ed the use of my own plugs. When I called for a quote I was bullied into giving my name even though no contract was being made for service. Jon, again bullied me into having to get a gasket replacement, which was not NECESSARY for this job. I said to him, "This is my car, I am the customer and I can tell you what I don't want done in my car." His answer, "That's not how it works, " and then went on to quote a price $130 higher than anywhere else I had asked around about. He clearly was over pricing the job so that he didn't have to work on this car. The job should have been between $115-$200 with a skilled mechanic according the the average prices online. It is a shame when you are treated like an ignoramus when in fact you have done your research. I am guessing had I been a male I would have been quoted appropriately and not bullied into uneccessary car work. read more

We brought our Chrysler van into Jon Miller's for a tune up. I was put on a diagnostic machine (116.00). I was told my speed sensor was melted and my caliper was frozen. My phylum need to be cleaned. I went to Jon Miller Car Care Center in the last 3 weeks because we were going on a long car trip to Jacksonville, FL and wanted to have them check out our car (2008 For Expedition) for safety reasons. Jay, Jon and Nate could not have been more accommodating. When they did their diagnosis, they found 2 issues with the exhaust manifold and dropped the bomb on me of the cost (between $500-$4,000!). Since I remembered that I had a warranty through the dealership (Causeway Ford in Manahawkin), I took the car there and had them check it out. They found the exact same problem after I told them what the issue was. Causeway's service mgr called and said since we were 5K over on mileage, the warranty company would not cover it and estimated the cost a little higher than Jon Miller. Due to numerous calls to Causeway, no one ever returned my call and since I was in a time crunch, I decided to let Jon Miller handle the repair. Boy, am I glad I did! They spent 3 days on the repair and although tedious, they made sure that it was completely fixed properly. I felt that they charged less than they should have due to the time-frame involved to fix. All I can say is that they now have a customer for life. Their honesty and follow-up with me was the exact opposite of my experience with Causeway. Jon personally called me 5 times during the process to let me know status updates, whereas with Causeway, I never heard back from them. Side note: 2 of the 4 cars we have were purchased from them and they will not be getting any of my business in the future. They had a coupon on the back of the Acme receipts for a $25 oil change. I've never been there before but decided to try it because of the coupon. Went there and they said my oil filter is expensive so the real price is $33. I have a 2008 Altima. Gimmie a freakin break lol. I went to Walmart just to see how expensive my oil filter was compared to other vehicles. And guess what....it was one of the cheapest Walmart offers.
