I have nostalgic memories of MPM and I really hope that transcends to the soon to be new facility. I hear the streets of Milwaukee exhibit will be modified in the move. To the powers that be that may stumble across this review - this exhibit and what you do with it when you move will do a lot to make or break public sentiment.

The museum exhibits are inside the square building with an entrance past the lobby. Any art lover will be wowed by the beautiful exhibition. There are special exhibits at different times throughout the year, and these are great times to visit. The cafe/restaurant downstairs is also beautiful, with a gorgeous view of the lake. Food and coffee is actually quite lovely as well! It's a small, and overlooked part of the experience. The store also has lots of cool stuff, though as a local Milwaukeean, I'm thinking a bit overpriced to get anything personally.

We always take a trip up to the Pilot House and then outside onto the high deck for terrific views of the lake, SF grounds, and everything else in the harbor (including a Milwaukee Fire Dept. fireboat). Staff are always welcoming and so very attentive to the children. We always make a stop at the food kiosk to get a snack (a selection of the usual packaged snack foods along with hot dogs and pizza). My biggest complaint is how slow and long the check-in process is. There's usually only one person at the check-in desk, and many days there need to be two. There's a line for members, but unless there are two staff members at the desk, what difference does it make? We waited with everyone else today, which makes having a membership feel like less of a great thing. But there still needs to be a quicker process. Today while I was at the front desk I watched a woman purchase tickets online, and even that was such a long and involved process I think i would've quit and gone home.

We came here on a Saturday and it was moderately busy yet we were able to see everything in a few hours. There are plenty of hands-on activities throughout for all ages and exhibits highlighting local individuals and companies as well. It's hard to say what my favorite area was because I enjoyed everything, but the aquariums, weather/ storm area and the corporate exploration station stick out in my mind as where I had the most fun personally. We didn't shop around the food or gift shop area but that could be an area we explore more next time. Discovery World is well worth the price of admission and the entire family is guaranteed to have fun while learning something new!

Moore's classic poem, Twas the Night Before Christmas. Entry is $10 per person on festive Friday. Reservations were needed and groups of people entered about 5-10 minutes apart. In each room, there was a narrator to tell us details about the room and how it related to the book. It was a cute event that helped put me in the Christmas spirit. The only downside was that there wasn't much art during our visit. And because the timed tours were coming through, we didn't get much time to look around before we had to move to the next room. It felt a bit rushed. I wish in addition to the guided tour, we could have time to look around on our own.

There is a main gallery with a couple dozen dinosaur skeleton casts (no real fossils), the main point of which is to illustrate therapod evolution towards modern birds. Also on the first floor are a series of kid-oriented stations to describe how fossils are formed and then how they are uncovered by paleontologists. On the lower level are a children's play area (big rug, toys, books, small tables and chairs); several display cases containing small fossils; and three large windows looking into the paleontology lab. During our visit, there was a triceratops skull in two large pieces laid out on the lab table closest to the windows. Very cool!

We decided to come on Saturday when they were celebrating Scandinavian heritage. We arrived right when they opened and stayed until they closed. Overall we had a good time and my wife and I noticed many new improvements that were added since the last time we came. There were a couple of items that I wanted to share by email to the staff at OWW both positive and helpful criticism. Since it was somewhat crowed that day one of the items related to how they operate their tram schedule and the other item had to do with their food service (they could not keep up with the line). I sent my email to the main one. No response. Sent it a second time and they follow up that they didn't get it. I asked if they had specific emails to the guest services staff and she gave me those emails and I wrote them both. No response. I even included my phone number. I emailed the original email again and she said she would get it to them herself. Still no response. I gave up after that. I have been in guest service for most of my life and would value feedback good and bad. That's how you improve. Would I still go back - probably. I am just disappointed that they were not willing to follow up with me. OWW has a lot of great history to learn about WI etc. My only suggestion would be not to go if there are large crowds. BG

The artwork on display is incredible, with some genuinely masterful pieces, as well as more modern interpretations. Mostly paintings with some sculptures, iron work, and videos. They even have a rooftop which offers incredible views of the skyline and features several large sculptures, just bw aware that it's closed for winter. I took an hour and a half to get through it, and that's just taking a peak at the rooftop. I would say you could spend upwards of 2 hours here with little difficulty.
