I choose patellar auto graft and I can't make out if any surgery was done. Minimal scarring and marks on the skin. Although he correctly diagnosed my problem and my need for physical therapy, he declined to refer me to a physical therapist office. Fortunately, my health plan has a good physical therapist office available for referral and Dr. Stuffman did provide a general order for the therapy. The therapist was very competent and requested that I obtain an ultrasound exam from Dr. Stuffman for aid in understanding my injury and providing the right physical therapy. This required another visit to Dr. Stuffman. For the purpose of thoroughness in making his diagno-sis, I think Dr. Stuffman should have performed the ultrasound (a 15 minute exam) in my initial visit with him. Dr. Stuffman also provided no prognosis for my injury, albeit the physical therapist recommended that I no longer do my upper body workouts with 5 lbs. weights or more for fear of aggravating the torn rotator cuff. On the plus side for Dr. Stuffman, he provided a online video for doing physical therapy and this video mentioned "easy" may be better in doing physical therapy weight lifting. This advise was very helpful because I tend to do too much sometimes

While I am not qualified to comment on the quality of her work during surgery (and I was anesthetized while that was being done anyway) her reputation as a surgeon is tremendous. I will try to remember to revise this review when I get six months out from surgery but, so far, (knock wood) I could not be happier. I know some people have expressed difficulties with her staff. Like any Doctor who is considered to be at the top of their field, you are going to wait a while. Otherwise, I found the pre surgery process to be reasonably organized and far from onerous. Initially, an assistant saw me and inquired on my complaint then a physician assistant, Diane examined, x-rayed then provided approaches. Since I have seeing a therapist for nine weeks, the logical step is having a cortisone injection on my trigger finger left thumb which I took. Hopefully this injection will address my issue and stay. A follow up appointment was scheduled in case this problem persist. All the staff were friendly, informative, knowledgeable and knew exactly what was needed. However, his assistants were friendly and warm and he was as well. I think he spent a thorough job evaluating my shoulder concerns and assessing the issues I brought forth to him. It was also interesting to have a diagnostic ultrasound on my shoulder to see what was really going on in there. I felt relieved to finally have some answers to what was happening with my wonky shoulders and he did a great job of answering all of my questions and concerns. I'm not sure if he does that with every visit, but for my visit it felt relevant. I also really like how he had an assistant documenting everything in the session - I felt like this made him more present and attentive. I've been to other medical appointments where the NP or MD has to document while assessing you and I feel like they end up only being partly attuned to what is going on with you. So this was a nice touch. I honestly don't want to be back (because that would mean that I would have another injury lol) but if that were to happen again, I most definitely would return to see Dr. Honsik. FYI, he also is a swimmer and he gave me some good tips on technique so that I don't exacerbate my shoulder issue. Overall, I am SO satisfied with this visit!

I arrived on time for my appointment, filled out the requisite forms, provided intake information to the medical assistant, and met with Dr. Eppley within 20 minutes. Doctor explained I needed X-rays, which was preformed in the office. Done. Dr. Eppley returned with the diagnoses and options for treatment. We agreed to a simple procedure, which was also completed in the exam room. Melissa, a physician assistant, arrived and in a matter of minutes, I was done!
